The 29-year-old was purged from the O’s 40-man roster last week as they needed to clear a spot following a pair of waiver claims. For now at least, it appears as though Noda will accept the outright assignment and function as additional depth at the Triple-A level.

Noda joins Baltimore’s bench mix after being claimed off waivers earlier this weekend from the White Sox. The 29-year-old has appeared in 180 contests at the big-league level over the last three seasons, hitting .204/.341/.357 with 18 homers and three steals in 651 plate appearances.
