Neto led off the third inning with a base hit and scored the Angels’ first run on a groundout. He then drew a walk and scored again in the fourth before knocking a double in the sixth to reach for a third time. The 25-year-old shortstop is having a solid start to the season, hitting .262/.357/.557 with five homers, 14 runs scored, eight RBI, and one steal over 70 plate appearances.

Neto has now hit safely in six-straight games and has homered three times over that span. The 25-year-old shortstop blasted his fifth homer of the season in the fourth inning to push the Angels’ lead to 4-0 in what ended up being a blowout win over the Reds on Friday. Neto continues to be a solid fantasy option for as long as this power surge continues and should benefit from two more games at Great American Ballpark.

That’s the fourth homer of the season for Neto, and two of those have come leading off the game. The 25-year-old went hitless in his other four at-bats, but his impressive pop makes him one of the best — and certainly one of the most underrated — fantasy shortstops in the sport.

Neto hit a leadoff homer off Emerson Hancock to give the Angels a 1-0 lead. End of scoring. For both teams. Neto has homered three times already in 2026, and he could be on his way to his first 30-homer campaign of his young career.

Neto worked Tatsuya Imai for a one-out walk in the third inning and raced around to score on Jorge Soler’s three-run double. He then tagged Roddery Munoz for a 365-foot (95.4 mph EV) two-run shot in the fourth that gave the Angels a 6-4 advantage. He’s off to a productive start to the 2026 season, hitting .200 (2-for-10) with a pair of homers, six runs scored, three RBI and a stolen base.

Neto managed to avoid serious injury when he slid into home plate over the weekend, somehow escaping with just a minor left hand sprain. The 25-year-old impact fantasy contributor will return to game action on Tuesday night and should be ready for next week’s season opener.

Neto progressed to hitting off a batting tee and taking on-field batting practice without any issues on Monday after being diagnosed with a left hand sprain over the weekend. The 25-year-old power/speed combo fantasy standout appears to have avoided serious injury and appears likely to get back into Cactus League action at some point this week. It’s a massive relief for fantasy managers with Opening Day just over one week away.

Neto sprained his hand when sliding into home plate on Saturday, so it’s great news that he was able to hit off a tee today and do so without pain. Neto said he plans to hit on the field later today and doesn’t expect to miss more than a few days. Sigh of relief for Angels fans and fantasy managers.

The 25-year-old shortstop sustained the injury as he dove headfirst into home plate during Saturday’s Cactus League affair. Fortunately, it sounds like he was able to avoid any significant injury. Neto noted that he’s grateful that he “dodged a bullet” and said that he learned a lesson about sliding headfirst. It sounds like fantasy managers and Angels’ fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Angels’ skipper Kurt Suzuki told reporters after the game that there’s nothing definitive on Neto just yet and that the dynamic 25-year-old shortstop is heading for additional testing. It’s the same hand that landed Neto on the injured list at the end of the 2025 season after he was hit by a pitch and then aggravated it while swinging the bat. All fantasy managers can do now is wait and hope for the best. Expect the Angels to provide an update on his status on Sunday.

Neto’s lone hit of the contest was a 101.3 mph laser beam to left field that would’ve brought home a pair of runs had Adam Frazier not been cut down at the dish on the play. The 25-year-old shortstop, who is coming off a 26-homer, 26-steal season in just 128 games last year, has been a late-second or early-third round pick in NFBC fantasy drafts since the start of February.

That’s the first homer of the spring for Neto after the 25-year-old hit 26 of them in the 2025 regular season. Neto likely would have been a 30/30 player if not for injuries, and he seems a good bet to reach those marks in 2026 as long as he stays on the field.

Neto’s two hits carried exit velocities of 101.7 mph and 95.5 mph, respectively, per Statcast. The 25-year-old former top prospec will be a second or third-round pick in fantasy drafts this spring on the heels of last year’s 26-homer, 26-steal campaign, which he accomplished in just 128 contests. He possesses 30-homer, 30-steal upside, if he manages to stay healthy for anything close to a full season.

Neto got off to a late start to the season due to injury and then ended the year with a hand strain; however, he was tremendous when he was healthy. He hit a career-high 26 home runs and swiped 26 bases while slashing .257/.319/.474 in 128 games. The 24-year-old will be one of the top fantasy baseball options at shortstop if he comes into spring training healthy.

The move ostensibly ends Neto’s season as he heads to the shelf for some extra time to rest and recover after missing three consecutive games last week with a lingering left hand issue. The 24-year-old power/speed fantasy contributor has put together a phenomenal age-24 campaign, smashing a career-high 26 round-trippers and also chipping in 26 thefts over just 128 contests. The hope here for the Angels and fantasy managers is that he won’t require surgery heading into the offseason.

Neto continues to deal with lingering left wrist soreness and it’s impossible to rule out the possibility of a trip to the injured list at this juncture. The 24-year-old fantasy standout hasn’t undergone any additional imaging to determine the severity of the issue yet. It’ll be rookie Denzer Guzman making his second consecutive start at shortstop in his absence. There should be some much-needed clarity on his status prior to Tuesday’s series opener against the Brewers.

It’s the second straight game that Neto has missed due to soreness in his left wrist. He is considered day-to-day and is expected to be available off the bench in this one. Denzer Guzman will start in his place at shortstop and bat seventh against Bryan Woo and the M’s.

Neto is dealing with the lingering aftereffects of being hit by a pitch nearly three weeks ago as his left wrist continues to be an issue. There’s zero reason for the Angels to jeopardize their 24-year-old franchise cornerstone’s long-term future, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he received a couple additional days off to put the issue to bed.

It sounds like Neto may have injured his hand on a swing during Thursday’s ballgame, though we have yet to hear anything official from the Angels. He should be considered day-to-day for the time being. Oswald Peraza will start in his place at shortstop and will bat sixth for the Halos against Luis Castillo and the M’s on Friday evening in Seattle.

Neto just missed a second homer in the sixth, with James Outman catching the ball at the very top of the wall in center. With 26, Neto is tied with Francisco Lindor for second in homers among shortstops. Willy Adames leads the way at 28. If Neto can join Jo Adell and Taylor Ward at 30, the Angels will have three players reach that mark for just the third time in franchise history. Garret Anderson, Troy Glaus, Tim Salmon and Mo Vaughn did it in 2000, and Albert Pujols, Mike Trout and Mark Trumbo pulled it off in 2012.

It’s a routine off day for Neto, who rarely gets a breather, amid a tough 10-for-56 stretch at the dish over his last 15 games. The 24-year-old shortstop has launched a career-high 24 round-trippers and also chipped in 24 thefts through 123 contests.

Neto led off the game with a double off of Patrick Cobin and advanced to third with only one out, but the Halos were unable to cash him in. He then connected on a 396-foot (105.1 mph EV) solo shot off of Danny Coulombe that got the Angels on the board in the ninth inning. The 24-year-old shortstop has been unbelievable for fantasy purposes this season, slashing .268/.324/.487 with 23 long balls, 57 RBI, 77 runs scored and 23 stolen bases over his first 490 plate appearances. He’ll surely be a top 50 selection in all fantasy drafts next March and may even climb into the top 25 overall.

The home run was on the first pitch of the game off of Jacob deGrom. It was Neto’s 22nd home run of the season and seventh in the month of August. The 24-year-old has battled some injuries this season, but he has more than proved that last year’s breakout was not a fluke. He will finish close to a 30/30 season despite missing games and should be a popular draft target in 2026 drafts.

Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery told reporters Neto is fine after initial X-rays came back negative. The 24-year-old shortstop will likely require a few days off to allow the pain and swelling to subside, but appears to have avoided major injury after being hit by a pitch on the left wrist during Wednesday’s game against the Reds. There should be an update on his status prior to Friday’s series opener against the Cubs.

Neto managed to remain in the contest after being hit by a pitch in the third inning, but was eventually replaced at shortstop by Oswald Peraza to open the sixth inning. The 24-year-old fantasy standout, who reached the 20-homer mark over the weekend, will head for X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. There should be an additional update on his status soon.

With the homer, Neto has reached 20 homers for the second time in his three-year career. The 24-year-old also has driven in 63 runs; an impressive total when you consider he missed time to begin the year, and that he’s hitting at the top of the lineup with a less-than-desirable bottom of the lineup “behind” him.

Neto led off the bottom of the first with a homer against Yoshinobu Yamamoto and later took Alexis Díaz deep in the sixth for his third career two-homer game. It’s the first time that he’s ever reached base safely five times and the fourth time that he’s scored three runs, with three of those taking place since the beginning of July. It’d be nice if he showed more plate discipline, but he’s batting an impressive .272/.329/.481 with 19 homers and 21 steals in 100 games at age 25.

Neto finally got the Halos on the board as he led off the sixth inning with a 412-foot (105.7) solo shot off of Sean Burke, trimming the Angels’ deficit to four runs. He then tied the game with a two-run double in the seventh inning. The 24-year-old shortstop has been a monster for fantasy purposes since returning from a long layoff to begin the season, slashing .273/.325/.468 with 16 homers, 44 RBI, 68 runs scored and 21 stolen bases (in 29 attempts) over his first 93 games.

Neto also singled and came around to score another run. The 24-year-old’s homer came in the ninth inning with the Angels trailing 11-3, but still counts just the same. Neto has been very solid in 2025 with a slash of .273/.318/.485, and 14 homers along with 16 stolen bases aren’t too shabby either.
