Osuna set the tone for the Rangers with his three-run shot in the top of the first inning to effectively break this game open early. His squad wound up leading for all nine innings. While it’s been a fun run of playing time for him, don’t expect the same next season unless there’s another string of injuries to Texas’ outfield.

Osuna returns to the big leagues with Jake Burger heading to the injured list with a wrist sprain. The 22-year-old rookie will occupy a spot on Texas’ bench and is unlikely to garner enough playing time to make a fantasy impact.

The Rangers needed to clear a spot on their active roster for the return of Jake Burger (quad) on Friday and unfortunately it was Osuna who drew the short straw this time around. The 22-year-old outfielder has hit just .158/.290/.211 with one homer, five RBI, three stolen bases and a 20/13 K/BB ratio over his first 93 plate appearances with the Rangers.

Osuna returns to the big leagues with Evan Carter hitting the injured list with back spasms. The 22-year-old rookie took his lumps earlier this season at the highest level, hitting .164/.293/.224 with one homer and three steals in 82 plate appearances over 29 games. He projects as a viable bench outfielder long-term, but he’s simply not ready yet.

Osuna will get a chance to play regularly in the minors after receiving limited opportunities the last few weeks in a bench role. The 22-year-old rookie hit .164/.293/.224 with one homer and three steals in 82 plate appearances over 29 games during his first stint in the big leagues.

The 22-year-old outfielder connected on an 0-1 changeup from Matt Bowman in the fifth inning, blasting a 383-foot (108.9 mph EV) two-run shot into the seats in right field that extended the Rangers’ lead to 5-2. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the memorable night. On the season, Osuna is slashing a disappointing .167/.292/.241 with one homer and four RBI in his first 65 plate appearances with the Rangers.

The 22-year-old outfielder plated the Rangers’ lone run in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Seth Lugo in the fourth inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. It has been a struggle for him in his limited action with the big league club, slashing a woeful .161/.297/.161 with a 10/5 K/BB ratio in his first 37 plate appearances.

Osuna lined a fifth-inning single to center field off Blue Jays stalwart Kevin Gausman for his first major-league hit. He added a seventh-inning single to cap off the multi-hit performance on an afternoon where Texas mustered only five hits combined in a low-scoring affair. The 22-year-old outfield prospect was called up over the weekend from Triple-A Round Rock and figures to play regularly in left field. He doesn’t project as a fantasy star, but he plays with some moxie and does a little bit of everything well.
