Josh Kasevich singled, walked twice and stole two bases in his three plate appearances Saturday against the Phillies.

Kasevich’s stock took a big hit after he missed about two-thirds of last season with a stress reaction in his back and was ineffective when he did play, so the Jays were able to get away with leaving him unprotected in the Rule 5 draft. Still, the 2022 second-round pick looked like a legitimate prospect a year ago and might at least turn into a nice utilityman with his contact ability.
