O’Neill was activated prior to Friday’s series opener but didn’t end up making an appearance. The 30-year-old slugging corner outfielder wound up missing just over two weeks with a concussion. He’s back in right field and hitting fifth in his first game action since April 8.

He’ll be eligible to return tonight against the Red Sox. O’Neill wound up missing about two weeks after suffering his concussion on April 9. Baltimore hasn’t posted a lineup yet but it would not be surprising if O’Neill found his way into it.

While the 30-year-old slugger has shown improvement, it sounds like he’s still at least a few days away from a potential return to the Orioles lineup. O’Neill has been shelved since April 9.

It turns out it’s not just an illness that O’Neill has been battling, it has actually been a concussion. Johnathan Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to take his place on the active roster. O’Neill will have to clear the concussion protocol before he’s eligible to return to action.

O’Neill winds up missing all three games of the weekend series against the Giants. He’s still considered day-to-day, so expect that he’ll return to action early next week. Leody Taveras will draw another start in his place on Sunday and will bat sixth against Giants’ right-hander Adrian Houser.

O’Neill has caught whatever has been going around the Orioles’ clubhouse and will be held out of action on Friday night as a result. Leody Taveras will take his place in the Orioles’ lineup and will bat seventh against Giants’ right-hander Landen Roupp.

It’s notable that O’Neill has started just half of Baltimore’s eight games on the young season and he’s been out of the lineup for three straight. It’ll be Dylan Beavers and Colton Cowser continuing to get opportunities to play regularly with reclamation project Leody Taveras getting some unexpected run in center field at the moment.

O’Neill is making over $16 million this season, so the Orioles will certainly want to give him a chance to earn that contract, but he’s also 2-for-14 to start the season with four strikeouts and two walks. He’ll continue to get some chances, but he’ll need to start producing to hold off Dylan Beavers, who is starting in left field and batting sixth today.

O’Neill got the O’s ln the board in the fourth inning, tagging right-hander Bailey Ober for a 391-foot (109.0 mph EV) three-run shot that pulled them to within a run at 4-3. He also drew a walk in the sixth inning and raced around to score on a go-ahead two-run double by Dylan Beavers. He’s hitting .286 (2-for-7) with the one long ball and three RBI on the young season.

Shame on the Orioles for not leading him off today. As the No. 6 batter, he was left on deck in the bottom of the eighth before the game ended with the top of the ninth. O’Neill still contributed with his single and run scored in the seventh, when the Orioles collected both of their runs in the 2-1 victory. He’s likely to play against all lefties and the majority of righties for now. It’d be better for his fantasy value if he were a true full-timer, but sitting once or twice per week might help keep him healthy.

Someone set the Tyler O’Neill April Mode on early, as he’s scorching hot with a .778 batting average in Grapefruit League play so far. It remains an open question of exactly how much playing time he’ll get in Baltimore’s revamped outfield, but the contract does seem to suggest he’ll do better than just a pure platoon bat with Dylan Beavers. Should he win a job, he’s someone to keep an eye on, at least during the hot streaks.

After signing a three-year, $49.5 million contract with Baltimore, O’Neill was limited to 209 plate appearances in 2025. He also hit only .199/.292/.392, but did have nine home runs and just a 24 percent strikeout rate. He’s battling Dylan Beavers for the starting right field job, but you’d have to assume the Orioles would love to give O’Neill another shot to earn that contract if he produces this spring.

O’Neill is making $16.5 million annually on his three-year deal, so he’s of course staying put after hitting .199/.292/.392 over 54 games in his first season in Baltimore. He’ll probably reemerge as a useful bat next season, but he might sit against a fair number of right-handers as the Orioles try to keep him healthy.

O’Neill had the day off on Tuesday as the Orioles continue to manage his at-bats following a right wrist injury. The 30-year-old has gone 2-for-11 in his three games since coming back with three strikeouts and one RBI. It’s hard to trust him right now in fantasy leagues. Colton Cowser will be on the bench Tuesday with Jordan Westburg moving from DH to second base and Jeremiah Jackson shifting to the outfield.

O’Neill ended up missing over a month due to inflammation in his right wrist. The 30-year-old will play out the final two weeks of the season in what has been a disappointing and injury-riddled first season for O’Neill in 2025.

O’Neill has been plagued by injuries during his Orioles debut, but it sounds like he’ll make it back to Baltimore for the final two weeks, barring an unexpected setback. The 30-year-old slugger has been out since early August recovering from right wrist inflammation.

O’Neill is going to need a handful of rehab contests to get back up to speed after hitting the shelf back in early August with right wrist inflammation. The streaky power-hitting 30-year-old has been limited to just 43 games due to injury in his Orioles debut.

The 30-year-old slugger received a second cortisone injection in his wrist this week to combat the inflammation that he has been dealing with. The O’s are hopeful that he’ll make quick progress once he’s able to swing the bat. O’Neill has been sidelined since early August due to the injury.

O’Neill has been plagued by injuries this season in his Orioles debut, which have limited him to just 43 games. It sounds like there’s optimism he’ll be ready at some point in September. He’s been on the injured list since early August dealing with right wrist inflammation.

The Orioles haven’t ruled out a return before the end of the month, but it’s starting to see more likely that he won’t be back until September. With O’Neill and Colton Cowser out, the Orioles are currently using a Dylan Carlson-Greg Allen-Jeremiah Jackson outfield that’s probably worse than their current Triple-A group.

The encouraging news is that O’Neill isn’t dealing with any sort of structural damage. The oft-injured outfielder is still going to miss at least a couple of weeks though. Greg Allen was signed to a one-year contract on Friday and Jordyn Adams was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to patch together the outfield while O’Neill and Colton Cowser (concussion) are shelved.

O’Neill is “day-to-day for now,” but he’s wearing a soft cast on his wrist and will be sent for imaging. X-ray results revealed no fractures, which is good news, but the oft-injured outfielder could still be dealing with ligament issues, so this is a situation to monitor.

It’s the best-case scenario after O’Neill was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Phillies with right wrist discomfort. The 30-year-old slugger told reporters afterwards that he jammed his wrist on the right-field wall early in the contest, which led to his eventual departure. It doesn’t sound like a significant concern, but there won’t be a decision on his playing status for Wednesday’s series finale until he’s re-evaluated.

O’Neill was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning, likely for precautionary reasons. He went hitless in a pair of at-bats before exiting. The timing is unfortunate since the power-hitting 30-year-old was in the middle of a hot streak at the dish, homering five times in his last eight games. He’ll head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s series finale.

O’Neill, returning from an illness over the weekend, hit a two-run shot off Jesus Luzardo in the second inning. It was his eighth home run of the year and fifth over his last eight games. When O’Neill is hot like this, he has to be started in all formats.

O’Neill returns at DH and will bat fifth on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park following a two-game absence over the weekend due to illness. The power-hitting 30-year-old outfielder has gone deep four times over his past seven games and is capable of carrying a fantasy roster when he’s on one of his trademark hot streaks.

It’ll be rookie Jeremiah Jackson taking over in right field and hitting fifth on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field while O’Neill sits out his second straight contest due to illness. The 30-year-old power-hitter is presumably day-to-day heading into Monday’s road tilt against the Phillies.

O’Neill is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, but he also played both games of the doubleheader on Tuesday and went 0-for-4 in the nightcap. Given O’Neill’s extensive injury history, a day off for this day game on Wednesday makes some sense. Adley Rutschman will DH and hit cleanup, while Alex Jackson will start behind the plate and bat ninth.
