Tyler O’Neill will not opt out of the final two years of his deal with the Orioles, according to the Baltimore Banner’s Andy Kostka.

O’Neill is making $16.5 million annually on his three-year deal, so he’s of course staying put after hitting .199/.292/.392 over 54 games in his first season in Baltimore. He’ll probably reemerge as a useful bat next season, but he might sit against a fair number of right-handers as the Orioles try to keep him healthy.

Tyler O’Neill is starting at DH and batting fourth for the Orioles on Wednesday against the White Sox.

O’Neill had the day off on Tuesday as the Orioles continue to manage his at-bats following a right wrist injury. The 30-year-old has gone 2-for-11 in his three games since coming back with three strikeouts and one RBI. It’s hard to trust him right now in fantasy leagues. Colton Cowser will be on the bench Tuesday with Jordan Westburg moving from DH to second base and Jeremiah Jackson shifting to the outfield.

Orioles activated OF Tyler O’Neill from the 10-day injured list.

O’Neill ended up missing over a month due to inflammation in his right wrist. The 30-year-old will play out the final two weeks of the season in what has been a disappointing and injury-riddled first season for O’Neill in 2025.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters Tyler O’Neill (wrist) could be activated for Friday’s game against the Blue Jays.

O’Neill has been plagued by injuries during his Orioles debut, but it sounds like he’ll make it back to Baltimore for the final two weeks, barring an unexpected setback. The 30-year-old slugger has been out since early August recovering from right wrist inflammation.

Tyler O’Neill (wrist) will kick off a minor league rehab assignment on Sunday with Double-A Chesapeake.

O’Neill is going to need a handful of rehab contests to get back up to speed after hitting the shelf back in early August with right wrist inflammation. The streaky power-hitting 30-year-old has been limited to just 43 games due to injury in his Orioles debut.

Orioles’ manager Tony Mansolino told reporters on Friday that Tyler O’Neill could resume swinging a bat at some point over the weekend.

The 30-year-old slugger received a second cortisone injection in his wrist this week to combat the inflammation that he has been dealing with. The O’s are hopeful that he’ll make quick progress once he’s able to swing the bat. O’Neill has been sidelined since early August due to the injury.

Tyler O’Neill (wrist) has resumed baseball activities.

O’Neill has been plagued by injuries this season in his Orioles debut, which have limited him to just 43 games. It sounds like there’s optimism he’ll be ready at some point in September. He’s been on the injured list since early August dealing with right wrist inflammation.

Tyler O’Neill hasn’t recovered from his right wrist inflammation as quickly as hoped, interim manager Tony Mansolino said.

The Orioles haven’t ruled out a return before the end of the month, but it’s starting to see more likely that he won’t be back until September. With O’Neill and Colton Cowser out, the Orioles are currently using a Dylan Carlson-Greg Allen-Jeremiah Jackson outfield that’s probably worse than their current Triple-A group.

Orioles placed OF Tyler O’Neill on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 6, with right wrist inflammation.

The encouraging news is that O’Neill isn’t dealing with any sort of structural damage. The oft-injured outfielder is still going to miss at least a couple of weeks though. Greg Allen was signed to a one-year contract on Friday and Jordyn Adams was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to patch together the outfield while O’Neill and Colton Cowser (concussion) are shelved.

Tyler O’Neill (wrist) is getting sent for imaging.

O’Neill is “day-to-day for now,” but he’s wearing a soft cast on his wrist and will be sent for imaging. X-ray results revealed no fractures, which is good news, but the oft-injured outfielder could still be dealing with ligament issues, so this is a situation to monitor.

Tyler O’Neill is day-to-day with a right wrist contusion after X-rays came back negative for any fractures.

It’s the best-case scenario after O’Neill was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Phillies with right wrist discomfort. The 30-year-old slugger told reporters afterwards that he jammed his wrist on the right-field wall early in the contest, which led to his eventual departure. It doesn’t sound like a significant concern, but there won’t be a decision on his playing status for Wednesday’s series finale until he’s re-evaluated.

Tyler O’Neill was removed from Tuesday’s game against the Phillies with right wrist discomfort.

O’Neill was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the sixth inning, likely for precautionary reasons. He went hitless in a pair of at-bats before exiting. The timing is unfortunate since the power-hitting 30-year-old was in the middle of a hot streak at the dish, homering five times in his last eight games. He’ll head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue. There should be an update on his status prior to Wednesday’s series finale.

Tyler O’Neill went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run against the Phillies on Monday.

O’Neill, returning from an illness over the weekend, hit a two-run shot off Jesus Luzardo in the second inning. It was his eighth home run of the year and fifth over his last eight games. When O’Neill is hot like this, he has to be started in all formats.

Tyler O’Neill (illness) is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Phillies.

O’Neill returns at DH and will bat fifth on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park following a two-game absence over the weekend due to illness. The power-hitting 30-year-old outfielder has gone deep four times over his past seven games and is capable of carrying a fantasy roster when he’s on one of his trademark hot streaks.

It’ll be rookie Jeremiah Jackson taking over in right field and hitting fifth on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field while O’Neill sits out his second straight contest due to illness. The 30-year-old power-hitter is presumably day-to-day heading into Monday’s road tilt against the Phillies.

Tyler O’Neill is not in the starting lineup for the Orioles against the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

O’Neill is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, but he also played both games of the doubleheader on Tuesday and went 0-for-4 in the nightcap. Given O’Neill’s extensive injury history, a day off for this day game on Wednesday makes some sense. Adley Rutschman will DH and hit cleanup, while Alex Jackson will start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Tyler O’Neill is at DH and batting second for the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Blue Jays.

O’Neill will attempt to homer for the fifth straight contest during Tuesday’s nightcap at Camden Yards as he continues one of the most torrid stretches of his career. The 30-year-old power-hitter blasted a three-run homer in the opening contest of the twin bill and looks like he’ll bat towards the top of Baltimore’s lineup for the rest of the season.

Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI in the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Orioles.

Treating every day like it’s Opening Day is O’Neill’s new philosophy. He’s homered in four straight games after totaling just three homers in his first 34 games of an injury-plagued season.

Tyler O’Neill is on the bench to open Monday’s game against the Blue Jays.

O’Neill takes a seat on Monday night with Ryan O’Hearn moving to DH with former top prospect Coby Mayo getting a chance to face Blue Jays veteran Chris Bassitt. The power-hitting 30-year-old has been on a heater of late with home runs in three consecutive games. It’s going to be a busy week for Baltimore with a doubleheader looming on Tuesday afternoon, so fantasy managers should anticipate O’Neill getting plenty of at-bats over the remainder of the week.

Tyler O’Neill went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run in a 5-1 win over the Rockies on Sunday.

The 30-year-old has battled injuries for much of the season, but he has gone 9-for-27 since the All-Star break with three home runs, seven runs scored, and six RBI in seven games. We know how much power he can produce when he gets hot, so he should be added in most fantasy leagues to see if this becomes a true hot streak.

Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-2 with a home run, three RBI, three runs scored, and two walks in Baltimore’s 18-0 blowout win over the Rockies on Saturday.

O’Neill took Antonio Senzatela deep for a two-run blast in the second inning. He then drew a walk and scored in the fourth and sixth innings before driving in a run with a base hit in the seventh. It was the second straight day with a home run for the 30-year-old outfielder and his third straight multi-hit contest. O’Neill is up to five homers while slashing .211/.298/.398 across 141 plate appearances.

It certainly explains why the Orioles summoned outfielder Dylan Carlson from Triple-A Norfolk prior to Tuesday’s game against Cleveland. Tyler O’Neill is not in the Orioles’ starting lineup for the second half of Thursday’s doubleheader against the Mets.

The Orioles are being careful with the workload they put on the oft-injured 30-year-old outfielder, so it’s not surprising to see him sitting out half of a doubleheader. He could make an appearance off the bench in a tough spot against a left-handed reliever should the right situation arise.

O’Neill scored the first run of the game for the Orioles, taking Aaron Bummer deep for a solo homer to lead off the third inning. It was his first home run since April 13 and third of the season as the 30-year-old outfielder has been limited to just 102 plate appearances due to injury.

Orioles activated OF Tyler O’Neill off the 10-day injured list.

As expected, O’Neill is ready to go to begin a three-game series against Atlanta. The 30-year-old ended up missing six weeks with his shoulder issue, and has not been effective in his first season in Baltimore. There’s time for that to change, and fantasy managers have seen what O’Neill is capable of when healthy and “locked in.”

Tyler O’Neill (shoulder) has moved his rehab to Triple-A Norfolk and could be activated from the injured list this week.

O’Neill was initially placed on the IL with a shoulder impingement on May 18. He began a rehab assignment in early June but was pulled off the assignment on June 14 and received an injection in his AC joint. He started his rehab assignment with High-A Aberdeen on June 22, then played four games for Double-A Chesapeake June 24-28, and is now with Triple-A Norfolk. He should make another rehab appearance for Triple-A Norfolk, and then could be activated to rejoin the Orioles outfield. It’s unclear what his shoulder injury will do to his power, but O’Neill’s offensive upside is good enough that he should be added anywhere he was dropped. His return would likely push Ramon Laureano into a part-time role, unless the Orioles choose to play O’Neill mostly at designated hitter, which would push Coby Mayo or Ramon Urias to the bench.
