There’s cause for concern here with Realmuto missing his second consecutive contest after exiting a game over the weekend with lower back tightness. Rafael Marchán will continue handling the catching duties for Philadelphia in his absence.

Realmuto was removed from Saturday’s game in the sixth inning with tightness in his lower back, and the 35-year-old will get at least one more day off for the series finale. Rafael Marchan will handle catching duties in Realmuto’s absence.

Realmuto extended Philadelphia’s early lead with an RBI single in the second inning before adding additional run-scoring singles in the fifth and sixth innings. The 35-year-old veteran backstop has been playing through some lingering right foot soreness but it doesn’t seem to be impacting his performance at the plate.

Realmuto is back handling the catching duties following a brief one-game absence after fouling a ball off his right foot over the weekend. The 35-year-old is certainly playing through some bumps and bruises but has managed to avoid the injured list.

Realmuto again fouled a ball off of his already sore foot during Saturday’s contest, which is why he was held out of action on Sunday. He’s once again considered day-to-day, though fantasy managers should expect this foot problem to be an ongoing issue for a while.

Just an all-around tough day for Realmuto. He took a foul tip off his sore right foot, which he originally injured in similar fashion Tuesday before missing Wednesday’s game. He also had a throwing error on a steal, and his one ball in play was a weak grounder. We assume he’ll be back out there Sunday anyway, but if not, it’s probably because his foot remains an issue.

There was some real concern after Realmuto fouled a ball off his foot earlier this week, but he managed to avoid serious injury. The 35-year-old veteran backstop is hitting .241 (7-for-29) with one homer and one RBI in 10 games this season.

Realmuto missed Wednesday’s game after fouling a ball off of his right foot during Tuesday’s contest against the Giants. The 35-year-old backstop initially thought that he had broken his foot, so it’s pretty remarkable that he’s able to return to action after only a couple of days off. He’ll bat eighth against Diamondbacks’ right-hander Michael Soroka.

Realmuto will continue receiving treatment and should benefit from Thursday’s off-day after suffering a contusion when he fouled a ball off his right foot during Tuesday’s game in San Francisco. It’ll be a pain-tolerance issue that determines whether Realmuto is ready later this week. It’ll be Rafael Marchán handling the catching duties if he’s unable to go.

Realmuto fouled a ball off his foot on Tuesday and was forced to leave the game. X-rays were negative, but he will miss at least one game with an off day on Thursday. Rafael Marchan will start behind the dish and bat eighth on Wednesday.

Consider him day-to-day. If he can’t play Wednesday, then Rafael Marchan will do the catching.

Realmuto fouled a ball off his right foot in the second inning and was forced to depart the contest with Rafael Marchán taking over behind the plate. He’ll presumably undergo precautionary X-rays to make sure he didn’t suffer any fractures.

Realmuto’s first homer of the year came off Andre Granillo to begin the Phillies’ late-inning rally in the seventh. He probably would have been the hero had he come up with one or two outs in a tie game in the 10th and the automatic runner on the second today, but since there were no outs, Brandon Marsh was held at third on Realmuto’s single to right. Justin Crawford followed with the game-ending single.

That’s probably his one for the month. Realmuto has participated in 15 Grapefruit League seasons and has hit 15 homers in 161 games. He’s off to a 4-for-17 start this time around as he enters the first year of a three-year, $45 million contract he received to re-sign with the Phillies in January.

The 28-year-old infielder spent the first seven years of his minor league career in the Nationals’ organization. In 2025, he slashed .252/.329/.390 with seven long balls, 22 RBI, 15 swipes and a 54/22 K/BB ratio over 235 plate appearances between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. He’ll add infield depth in the upper minors for the M’s.

Realmuto is guaranteed $15 million per season under the terms of his three-year deal with the Phillies, so he’ll be fine. However, the bonuses that would get him to a maximum of $20 million per season will be tough to reach. He’d earn $2 million each for finishing in the top 10 of MVP balloting or being voted to start the All-Star Game. He’d make $1 million each for an All-Star selection, a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger, up to a maximum of $5 million in total. None of Realmuto’s last three seasons would have qualified him for any of these bonuses. He was last an All-Star in 2021, though he would have collected $4 million in 2022 for finishing seventh in the NL MVP balloting and winning both a Gold Glove and a Silver Slugger. That was his lone top-10 MVP finish to date.

The deal was announced over the weekend and is now official. The veteran will be 35 next year and is coming off a season in which he hit .257/.315/.384 with 12 home runs and 8 steals. He remains an elite defensive catcher and a rock-solid presence in the Phillies’ lineup. He has experienced a minor regression offensively and no longer seems likely to push for 15+ steals in a season, which makes him more of a fringe top 10 catcher for fantasy leagues.

Realmuto hit one of two homers off Clayton Kershaw in the eighth inning. The backstop also doubled off Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and he’s slashing .385/.385/.923 over the first three games against Los Angeles. He’ll get a chance to improve that mark against the Dodgers on Thursday in Game 4.

Realmuto gave the Phillies an early 2-0 advantage as he roped a two-run triple off of Shohei Ohtani in the second inning and then scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Harrison Bader. That would wind up being his only hit in the night — and the only scoring that the Phillies would ultimately do. They’ll now need to get up off the floor and put up a fight in Game 2 on Monday night or risk heading back to Los Angeles facing a 2-0 deficit.

Realmuto left Tuesday’s game with a index finger contusion and it’s no surprise that the backstop will take a break from Wednesday’s action. The 34-year-old will sit with Rafael Marchan handling catching duties.

Realmuto appears to have avoided major injury after being hit on the right hand while catching in the top of the ninth inning during Tuesday’s eventual extra-inning marathon. He’s presumably day-to-day for the final two games of the mid-week series against Miami.

Realmuto was lifted for a pinch-hitter in the bottom of the ninth inning of a tie ballgame after being drilled on the right hand in the top of the frame. He was 0-for-3 at the dish prior to leaving the contest. He’ll presumably undergo further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue.

Realmuto returns to Philadelphia’s lineup after sitting out Tuesday’s contest at Dodger Stadium due to illness. The veteran backstop has put together a near carbon copy of last year’s numbers and has a decent shot at finishing his age-34 campaign with nearly 15 homers and 10 steals.

Realmuto went on a homer binge last week and had one more this week, but he’s 1-for-19 with nine strikeouts in his last five games. The Phillies really need someone outside of the big three to step up in the cleanup spot. Realmuto, Alec Bohm, Nick Castellanos and Harrison Bader all went hitless tonight.

It’s nothing more than a routine day of rest for the 34-year-old backstop after starting each of the team’s first four games of the week. Rafael Marchan will start in his place behind the dish and will bat ninth against Bryce Elder and the Braves.

Realmuto has been spending a lot of time in the cleanup spot for someone who pretty obviously isn’t a cleanup hitter at this stage of his career, but he made good tonight. In fact, he had as many RBI in this game as he did in his previous 18 starts batting fourth. Realmuto’s homer, a 431-foot bomb, was the just the second allowed by Matt Brash in 33 1/3 innings this season.

Relamuto’s run-scoring double snapped a 1-1 tie and proved to be enough for the Phillies to eke out a one-run victory. The 34-year-old backstop also singled in the ballgame, finishing the afternoon 2-for-4. He finishes the first half of the season hitting .268/.324/.381 with five homers, 32 RBI and five stolen bases in 299 plate appearances.
