It’s odd timing: Misiorowski was performing better a month ago than he has lately, and the Brewers have less need of him now than they did then. Still, we’re excited to see the 23-year-old flamethrower get a shot after going 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA and an 80/31 K/BB in 63 1/3 innings in Triple-A. No word yet on whether or not this is just a spot start or if maybe he’s taking Quinn Priester’s place in the rotation. Jose Quintana had been set to pitch Thursday, but we assume he’ll go Friday now instead, followed by Freddy Peralta on Saturday. Those with an open roster spot can take a chance on Misiorowski, but it’s best to be prepared for this to turn into another Logan Henderson situation.

Misiorowski touched triple-digits on 14 pitches and allowed just two hits over five strong frames in his latest dominant outing on the doorstep of the majors. Milwaukee doesn’t exactly have a spot for him in their current rotation, but they should strongly consider making one in a couple weeks. The hard-throwing 23-year-old righty is up to 80 punchouts over 63 1/3 innings and also boasts an International League-best 2.13 ERA across 12 starts.
