Ramírez ambushed a first-pitch fastball from Orioles’ left-hander Trevor Rogers for a 408-foot (106.2 mph EV) solo shot in the fourth inning that made it a 2-0 ballgame. He then replicated the feat in the fifth, that time belting a 1-1 changeup for a 379-foot (103.6 mph EV) solo shot to left that made it 6-4. With the two-hit attack, the superstar third baseman is now hitting .229/.354/.494 with six homers, 12 RBI and 10 stolen bases on the season.

Well, it seems like the Orioles’ plan was to not let Ramírez beat them in this one. With that intention, they succeeded. Only one of these walks was ‘intentional’ by the letter of the law and that was the only time Ramírez came around to score. Otherwise, they were careful and he didn’t try to be the hero. It’s just a shame that his teammates couldn’t do more with their opportunities in a game the Orioles wound up coming from behind to win. He’s still getting his this season on the whole with four home runs and a league-leading nine stolen bases.

The 33-year-old superstar got the Guardians on the board first, ambushing a first-pitch fastball from Shane Baz for a 388-foot (103.9 mph EV) two-run shot in the home half of the first inning, giving the Guardians a lead they would never relinquish. Ramírez also led off the sixth inning with a walk and scored on an RBI single off the bat of George Valera. With his two-hit effort, Ramírez is now hitting .224/.322/.434 with four homers, 10 RBI and eight stolen bases through his first 87 plate appearances.

Everyone loves a combo meal, but not many enjoy them more than Ramírez. The somehow-underrated third baseman smacked his third homer of the season off Michael McGreevy, and his steal gives him eight over the first 18 games. He’s not going to steal 72 bases like he’s on pace to do now, but he should once again be among the league leader in that category, along with a few others. He’s good.

Ramírez has now stolen four bases since Saturday. The 33-year-old still is hitting a less-than-desirable .200/.297/.354, but a pair of hits Monday has seen his average increase by nearly 50 points since Friday. Ramírez has gotten off to slow starts before, and he’s still been as good as any infielder in baseball during those campaigns. There’s zero to worry about here.

That’s more like it. Ramírez has not had an effective first two weeks of the season, but Saturday was a very friendly reminder — to everyone but Atlanta and those facing him in fantasy leagues — of how silly it is to worry. His homer is the second of the season, while the steals double his total from two to four. The perennial MVP candidate is still hitting just .175/.277/.333, but it’s just a matter of time until those numbers sky rocket.

Ramírez (6-for-39) has only two more hits than Austin Hedges (4-for-8) this season. He walked once in the first game today, but he was retired his other seven times up, leaving him at .154/.214/.282 overall. The Guardians have had a really tough schedule to date (they started with road series against the Mariners and Dodgers), which has taken a toll on most of the lineup, but it’d be nice for those who picked Ramírez in round one to see him start hitting the ball harder in near future.

Ramírez gave Cleveland a commanding four-run lead with a towering two-run homer to left in the eighth inning, hammering a high fastball from Dodgers lefty Tanner Scott. The 33-year-old fantasy stalwart has gotten off to an unexpected frosty start at the plate, hitting .143 (4-for-28) with one homer, five RBI and two steals through seven games.

If there were any doubts about the superstar third baseman’s shoulder, he silenced them by going deep in each of his first two games after returning to the lineup. This one was a two-run shot off of Gabe Mosser in the opening inning. For the spring, Ramírez is now hitting .243 (9-for-37) with four homers, 12 RBI and three stolen bases in 43 plate appearances. He should still be one of the first 10 names called in all fantasy drafts.

Ramírez missed three games with a shoulder injury sustained sliding into third base. The homer was a 110-mph shot off Noah Cameron in the first inning tonight.

It’s an extremely encouraging update. Vogt added that Ramírez remains day-to-day with left shoulder soreness after initial evaluation revealed merely inflammation. “He’s feeling much, much better today, so we’re going to reassess him day by day. He should be just fine in a few days,” Cleveland’s skipper told reporters on Tuesday afternoon. The 33-year-old franchise cornerstone suffered the injury on a slide during Sunday’s spring contest against the Athletics. Fantasy managers should anticipate Ramírez, who has posted back-to-back 30-homer, 40-steal campaigns, being ready for next week’s season opener. He remains a first-round selection in all fantasy drafts.

Vogt added that Ramírez jammed his left shoulder on a head-first slide into third base, which led to his eventual removal from Sunday’s spring training contest against the Athletics. The 33-year-old fantasy superstar will presumably undergo precautionary imaging to rule out any structural damage, but it doesn’t sound like a serious concern. Regardless, fantasy managers should continue to monitor the situation closely in the coming days, especially since Opening Day is less than two weeks away.

Ramírez has gone deep twice in three games this spring, hitting .429 during that span. The 33-year-old fantasy stalwart will be a first-round selection in all fantasy drafts this spring after consecutive 30-homer, 40-steal campaigns.

Ramírez looks like he skipped the ramp-up phase entirely this spring, taking minor leaguer Antonio Menendez deep for a three-run homer in the fifth inning to cap a multi-hit performance that also featured a run-scoring ground-rule double earlier in the contest. The 33-year-old franchise icon remains the top fantasy option at the hot corner after returning first-round fantasy value in each of the past two seasons. He’ll be a top 10 pick in all fantasy drafts this spring.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the deal is done, pending a physical. Meisel adds that the new agreement would add an additional four years and $106 million to Ramírez’s current contract and includes $70 million deferred. The 33-year-old fantasy superstar finished third in AL MVP Award balloting this past season. He’s recorded five consecutive 20-homer, 20-steal campaigns dating back to 2021. Cleveland’s franchise cornerstone has cleared 40 steals in consecutive seasons — a pace that’s unlikely to survive deep into his late 30’s — but his well-rounded game is built to age well, positioning him to remain an elite power-speed fantasy contributor even as the raw speed inevitably tapers. He’ll be the top third baseman off the board in all fantasy drafts this spring.

Ramírez evened the score in the fourth inning as he lined a 3-2 offering from Jack Flaherty into right field to make it a 1-1 ballgame. He was then cut down attempting to steal second base. The 33-year-old superstar then reached on an error that allowed the Guardians to scratch closer with two runs in the eighth inning, but he was thrown out at second base trying to advance on a ball that got away from Will Vest. Ramírez will find himself squarely in the middle of the first round of fantasy drafts once again in 2026 after another unbelievably productive season.

Technically they clinched earlier in the day as the Tigers fell to the Red Sox, but it had to have felt better to earn their way there on their own after completing the biggest comeback in big-league history after trailing the Tigers by 15 and a half games in July. With his three stolen bases on Sunday, Ramírez finishes the season with a career-high 44 thefts. He had another MVP-caliber campaign, slashing .283/.360/.503 with 30 long balls and 85 RBI. The Guardians will host the Tigers in the Wild Card Series beginning on Tuesday in Cleveland.

Ramírez had his bat literally knocked out of his hands on the pitch before the big hit; he was trying to avoid an inside pitch, only to have it go off the knob of his bat, and the trembling bat wound up hitting catcher Dillon Dingler on the fly. Ramírez is up to 397 career doubles after this. He didn’t touch home plate tonight, so he’s still at 999 runs scored for his career.

It’s the fourth 30-homer season for Ramírez, who also finished with 29 twice. He’s now gone 30/40 in back-to-back seasons (30/30 three times), and he’s one run away from reaching the century mark for a fifth time. He won’t, however, be driving in 100 runs for the fifth time; he has 81 RBI right now, in large part because Guardians No. 2 hitters have batted .198 with a .258 OBP.

That stolen base was the 40th of the season for Ramírez. That’s the second time the perennial MVP candidate has reached that mark, both of them coming in the last two years. The 33-year-old isn’t having his best season, but it’s one many players would sign up for as Ramírez is slashing .282/.359/.504 with 29 homers and 80 RBI with just over a week to go in the regular season.

Ramírez scored both runs in the Guardians’ 2-0 victory. He currently leads the Guardians in homers by two, in RBI by 10, in runs scored by 17 and in steals by 18. Of course, he’s tops in average (.287), OBP (.360) and slugging (.510), as well. Kyle Manzardo, at .794, is the only other Guardian with an OPS over .720 or an OPS+ over 100.

Ramírez and Kyle Manzardo hit back-to-back homers in the first, and Ramírez broke a tie for a second time with another solo shot off Calvin Faucher in the eighth. He also doubled tonight. It’s his 27th career two-homer game. He’s tied for 15th in the majors with 25 homers this season.

Ramírez notched his eight 20-homer season on Monday, and tonight he reached 30 steals for the third time. His career high of 41 from last season seems very much in danger. The homer tonight was also his 700th career extra-base hit. He has 276 homers, 42 triples and 382 doubles.
