The Braves gave up some cash to acquire Rolison from the Rockies last month, but now he’s off the 40-man, probably to be claimed by another team. The 28-year-old hasn’t enjoyed any major league success, having posted a 7.02 ERA in 31 appearances for the Rockies, but it’s easy to imagine another team having more luck with him in relief.

Rolison, 28, was DFA’d by the Rockies yesterday. A 2018 first-round pick, he reached the majors for the first time in 2025 and had a 7.02 ERA and a 25/20 K/BB in 42 1/3 innings out of the pen as a rookie. Rolison has been shipped back to the minors to make room for Roansy Contreras, who was claimed off waivers from the Orioles earlier this week. The 28-year-old lefty holds a bloated 7.15 ERA across 39 innings over 27 appearances this season at the highest level.

Rolison provides Colorado with some much-needed long relief depth after Antonio Senzatela recorded only two outs during Friday’s series opener against the Pirates. The 28-year-old lefty has struggled to a lackluster 7.34 ERA across 30 2/3 innings (22 appearances) this season in his first exposure to the big leagues.
