Rashi picked up a save in his last appearance before he was sent to Triple-A. In his first appearance back on Tuesday, he pitched the final two innings to close out the game against the Rangers with a two-run lead. Andrew Saalfrank remains in line to work most save chances, but was held out Tuesday after pitching in two of the last three days.

Rashi was up briefly with Arizona last week and wound up getting his first career save by tossing three shutout frames against the Brewers. The unheralded 29-year-old righty figures to operate in middle relief for the Diamondbacks over the final month of the year.

The 29-year-old made his major league debut in brilliant fashion on Thursday, striking out three batters over three scoreless innings to earn a save against the Brewers. Unfortunately, he threw 62 pitches in the contest and was going to be unavailable for a few days, so the Diamondbacks swapped him out for a fresh arm. It would be a travesty if he doesn’t get another opportunity with the Diamondbacks in September.
