Good news for Suárez, who spent most of the season on the IL with a shoulder issue, returned in September and then finished up back on the IL with the elbow problem. He should have a rather normal offseason.

The right-hander is waiting for the inflammation to subside before getting another MRI. Obviously, meeting with Dr. Meister is never a great sign, and there is certainly a chance that Suárez will have to undergo Tommy John surgery. We’ll know more in two weeks.

Suárez is presumably done for the rest of the season after just four appearances since returning from a five-month absence due to shoulder inflammation. The 35-year-old veteran wound up making just five appearances this season for the Orioles.

This one turned into a laugher after Suárez departed, but that’s not his fault. He was making his first start after three relief appearances since coming back from a shoulder issue that cost him five months. He’s allowed two runs in nine innings this month. Suárez had been on the IL with shoulder inflammation since the fourth day of the season. He’s back now after allowing one run in 10 2/3 innings over four appearances on a rehab assignment with Norfolk. The first two of those saw him being stretched out, but he pitched just 2 2/3 innings in the last two outings, suggesting that he won’t be considered an option as a starter.

Suárez has been out of action since being diagnosed with a Grade 2 right subscapularis strain in April. The 35-year-old would likely work as a multi-inning reliever with Baltimore if/when he makes his return after rosters expand.

The 35-year-old was diagnosed with a Grade 2 right subscapularis strain back in April and has been sidelined ever since. As a result, his rehab process will likely be a lengthy one, and it’s unclear if he will be built up enough to make any starts before the 2025 season ends. However, the Orioles could opt to have him rehab as a reliever to allow him to simply pitch some MLB innings before the end of the season.

The MRI won’t take place until a few weeks, but the Orioles want to make sure that his subscapularis strain has healed before they begin his rehab program. The 35-year-old remains without a timetable for return, but should have one after the imaging takes place.
