Sánchez, who is being added to the major league roster, spent a few days with the Red Sox last month when Carlos Narváez was beat up, but he was outrighted and then signed with the Mets 10 days ago. Now he’s back to give Boston a third catcher, allowing for some extra pinch-hitting opportunities. He probably won’t start games.
