It was his longest outing of the year, but he left in line for a loss as the Phillies were stymied by Logan Webb. The Giants hit back-to-back doubles lead off the game and both runners scored, but after that Sánchez locked in and handled the Giants three times through the order. Sánchez allowed 10 hard-hit balls and generated just nine whiffs, but found enough of the zone to finish with a 32 percent CSW rate. He’s likely to match up with the Athletics in his next start.

It’ll be made up as a split doubleheader on Thursday instead. Wednesday’s original starters — Logan Webb and Cristopher Sánchez — will take the ball at some point during the day-night twin bill at Citizens Bank Park.

Nothing underneath the hood here was concerning for Sánchez, but the Cubs pounced all over his sinker, missing it just once in 15 swings and notching seven hard-hit balls against it. He allowed long, loud homers to Michael Busch and Ian Happ. The Phillies got him off the hook for the loss against Chicago’s bullpen late in the game, but not an ideal outing for fantasy purposes. He’ll look to rebound next week against the Giants.

Sánchez retired the first two batters in the third before a single, an error, a walk and two more singles did him in. The first run-scoring single was a tapper to the right of the mound that Sánchez fielded before losing his footing. It would have been a tough play anyway for the left-hander. The last hit was a fly to shallow center that Brandon Marsh had no play on. Those were all the runs the Braves needed today. Sánchez was fantastic in striking out eight, and that walk to Matt Olson was the only one he issued on the day. Still, he’s now 2-2 in spite of a 1.59 ERA. He’ll face the Cubs on Thursday.

Sánchez received plenty of help from Philadelphia’s offense, which scored 12 runs on 13 hits over his six innings of work, enabling him to coast to a relatively stress-free win. He limited the Cubs to just six hits with a fourth-inning homer by Dansby Swanson accounting for all the damage against him. He finished with eight strikeouts and also issued three walks. He’ll bring a sparkling 2.01 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 31/7 K/BB ratio across 22 1/3 innings over four starts into a home outing against the Braves in primetime on Sunday night.

A double, a base hit, and a groundout brought one run in to score against Sánchez in the first inning. He stranded two more runners in the second, then later gave up two more runs on three hits in the fifth. Both were charged as unearned runs to Sánchez following an error. He returned for the sixth and gave up two hits, ending his day at 92 pitches. One of the inherited runners would come in to score. Sánchez gave up 11 hits in all while striking out six. Despite a bloated .429 BABIP through three starts, the 29-year-old left-hander has allowed just three earned runs with a 23/4 K/BB ratio across 16 1/3 innings over his first three starts for a 1.65 ERA. He’ll take on the Cubs at home on Monday.

Sánchez was a little shaky in walking four today and another team might have been able to capitalize, but the Nationals couldn’t. He threw 33 pitches to work out of a bases-loaded situation after walking two in the second, and he was at 65 pitches through three, but he still pitched into the sixth anyway and finished with seven strikeouts. He’ll take a 0.79 ERA into his third start against the Giants.

Eight of the 11 balls in play against Sánchez today were hit hard, but only three turned into hits, with Andrew McCutchen’s 398-foot double being the lone extra-base hit. Sánchez can afford to give up the hard contact because so much of it is on the ground and because he hardly walks anyone. He issued no free passes today, Last year, he walked one or none in 19 of his 32 starts. Sánchez will face the Nationals next week.

According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the new contract guarantees Sánchez $107 million through 2032, which includes his $3.5 million salary for the 2026 season. His current deal was for four years and $22.5 million and ran through the 2028 season with team options for 2029 and 2030. The new agreement will start in 2027 and run through the 2032 season while including a club option for 2033. It makes plenty of sense that the Phillies would want to lock up one of the best left-handed arms in the game for as long as possible.

The new agreement keeps Sánchez, who finished second in NL Cy Young Award balloting last season, in Philadelphia through 2032. His previous four-year, $22.5 million contract ran through 2028 and included team options for 2029 and 2030. The new agreement starts in 2027 and runs through 2032 with a club option for 2033. It makes plenty of sense that the Phillies would want to lock up one of the best left-handed arms in the game for as long as possible. He’ll be one of the first 10 pitchers off the board in all remaining fantasy drafts this spring.

In his final spring outing, Sánchez struck out four, allowed just two hits and didn’t walk a batter. The 29-year-old was named the Opening Day starter for the Phillies, and the 2025 Cy Young runner-up is a good bet to again be a top ten fantasy starter in 2026.

Sánchez will get the nod and square off against Nathan Eovaldi. This would likely have been Zack Wheeler if Wheeler was healthy, but he’s not, and Sánchez was terrific in 2025 where he finished second in Cy Young voting behind Paul Skenes. He should once again be a very solid fantasy option in 2026.

Sánchez had a couple of long breaks early on while the D.R. was scoring four runs in the second and three in the third, but it didn’t bother him at all. He generated whiffs on 18 of the 31 swings against him and wound up with a 48% CSW. Albert Abreu followed Sánchez and pitched scoreless sixth and seventh innings before the game was mercy ruled.

Sánchez should receive plenty of help from the Dominican Republic’s loaded lineup, which scored a tournament-leading 41 runs through four games in pool play. The 29-year-old fantasy ace allowed three runs (two earned) over 1 1/3 innings last Friday against Nicaragua.

Sánchez actually struck out four (of seven batters) in the first inning tonight, with a wild pitch allowing the leadoff man to reach on the first one. He just didn’t have much help or luck in the outing, and he gave up the six hits despite not allowing a single hard-hit ball. Barring something pretty unexpected, he’ll make another start for the Dominican Republic next week.

Sánchez generated 12 whiffs on 19 swings while facing mostly starters today. He’s right where he needs to be as he prepares to serve as the Dominican Republic’s ace in the WBC. He’s slated to face Nicaragua on Friday.

The late-afternoon shadows at Dodger Stadium limited both offenses to just three hits combined through five frames. Sánchez waded into hot water for the first time in the sixth when one-out singles by Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernández created a scoring opportunity, which he managed to extinguish. He came back out for the seventh at 80 pitches and was lifted in favor of Phillies closer Jhoan Duran after giving up a walk to Alex Call and a one-out single to Enrique Hernández. He was charged with a run after Duran handed out a bases-loaded free pass to Mookie Betts following an intentional walk to Shohei Ohtani. The 28-year-old southpaw has emerged as Philadelphia’s ace with veteran Zack Wheeler recovering from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery and he’ll be an early-round pick in all fantasy drafts next spring.

The 28-year-old southpaw racked up eight strikeouts on the night while issuing a pair of walks. All of the damage done against him came on his final batter of the night as Enrique Hernandez smacked a two-out, two-run double in the sixth inning that pulled the Dodgers to within a run at 3-2. Sánchez got 18 swings and misses on 94 pitches on the evening — 12 on his devastating changeup — registering an elite CSW of 38 percent. He’ll be in line to start in Game 4 on Thursday in Los Angeles if the Phillies can hang on until then.

Sánchez needed only 60 pitches to get 17 outs today. The likely NL Cy Young runnerup ends the year 13-5 with a 2.50 ERA that ranks fifth in the majors. He’s seventh with 212 strikeouts, and he wound up allowing just 12 homers in 202 innings. That home run rate is basically a match for Paul Skenes for the top mark among qualified starters, but Sánchez’s figure is definitely more impressive after factoring in each’s home ballpark. Sánchez will likely next pitch Saturday in the Phillies’ NLDS opener.

The 28-year-old southpaw struck out six batters in the impressive outing while issuing only one base on balls. The biggest threat against him came as Teoscar Hernandez smacked a two-out double in the fourth inning but he was left stranded right there. Sánchez got 15 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night — eight of those on his changeup — while posting a CSW of 31 percent. He concludes a brilliant regular season with a 13-5 record, 2.57 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a 204/44 K/BB ratio across 196 1/3 innings in his 31 starts. He’ll certainly be in the running for the National League Cy Young award.

Sánchez tossed a scoreless first inning, then gave up a solo homer to Alex Call in the second before Enrique Hernández took him deep for a two-run blast. The Dodgers added a fourth run on two hits and a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Sánchez settled in for three more scoreless frames, ending his day after seven with six strikeouts. The 28-year-old left-hander will take an incredible 2.66 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and a 198/43 K/BB ratio across 189 1/3 innings into a start against the Marlins in Philadelphia next week.

Sánchez had payback in mind after the Mets touched him up for a season-high six runs a few weeks ago. That was the only time this season he allowed more than four in any start and wasn’t about to let it happen again. The only time they challenged him was in a dangerous fourth inning where they pushed their only run across, but Sánchez forced a critical double play against Brandon Nimmo before the Phillies’ lineup broke this one open soon thereafter. Of the 15 balls the Mets put in play, 10 were on the ground and there were few moments where it didn’t feel like he was in complete control. He has a tall task against the Dodgers next time out.

Sanchez gave up six hits, walked one and struck out five. The 28-year-old left-hander has allowed two runs or less in three of his last four starts. Sanchez has a 2.60 ERA and 186/42 K/BB ratio in 176 2/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Mets at home next week.

Sánchez had excellent stuff tonight, with his fastball velocity up by 0.7 mph from his season average and his changeup up by 1.4 mph. He recorded 20 whiffs, 12 of which came on the 38 changeups he threw. Because he was matched with Chris Sale, Sánchez went without a win for a fourth straight start, dimming his chances of maybe somehow sneaking away with a Cy Young Award because of a big victory advantage over Paul Skenes. Sánchez is 11-5 with a 2.66 ERA ahead of next week’s start versus the Marlins.

Sánchez opened with three scoreless innings before a rather unfortunate fourth in which he gave up three runs on five hits, only two of which were hard-hit balls. The biggest blow was a Mark Vientos double on a grounder that skipped over Alec Bohm’s glove. Sánchez later surrendered an unearned run in a fifth inning that included Juan Soto getting picked off first but reaching second anyway. In the sixth, he gave up two doubles while getting one out and was charged with two runs. The loss leaves him 11-5 with a 2.66 ERA and definitely was a setback to his hopes of overtaking Paul Skenes in the NL Cy Young race. He’ll face the Braves on Saturday.

Sánchez had a 4-1 lead in the seventh when he was pulled after walking a batter with one out. Orion Kerkering replaced him and went on to give up the inherited run and two of his own, ending Sánchez’s chances of picking up his 12th win. The 12 strikeouts matched Sánchez’s career high from April and equaled against the Red Sox last month. He’s sixth in the majors with a 2.46 ERA and eighth with 169 strikeouts.

Sánchez gave up one run in the fourth, an inning he got out of prematurely because the Reds declined to or were too late in trying to challenge an out call on Noelvi Marte at third. The other runs came in the sixth on a single, a double and another single, which turned into a Little League homer for Marte after the throw escaped a leaping J.T. Realmuto at the plate. Sánchez had to try to get around Austin Hays, who scored and then walked right to the ball on the ground (and probably should have been called for interference), and threw wildly past third to allow Marte to come all of the way around. Sánchez had six strikeouts tonight. He gave up seven hits but just five hard-hit balls. He’ll face the Mariners next.

Sanchez gave up six hits, walked one and struck out six. The 28-year-old left-hander allowed one run or less for the ninth time in his last 10 starts. Sanchez has a 2.36 ERA and 151/35 K/BB ratio in 144 2/3 innings this year. He’s lined up to face the Reds on the road next week.

The 28-year-old southpaw allowed just five hits and one walk on the evening. The Tigers mounted a couple of threats against him — twice putting two men on with no outs — and both times Sanchez was able to work his way out of the jam without any damage being done. He got 16 swings and misses on 84 pitches on the night — 14 of them on his world-class changeup — while registering a strong CSW of 33 percent. Now 10-3 on the season, he’ll bring a stellar 2.40 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and a 145/34 K/BB ratio (138 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s battle against the Rangers in Arlington.

Coming off a dominant complete game against the Red Sox, Sánchez was a little off tonight. He struck out five and walked one, but he gave up two homers, both of which came with a runner on. It’s the first time he’s given up four runs since his second outing of the season Apr. 6 against the Dodgers, and it’s just his third loss against nine victories. His streak of nine straight quality starts also came to an end, and he lost any slim chance he had of beating out Paul Skenes for NL Pitcher of the Month honors. Sánchez will face the Tigers on Sunday.
