Schneemann came on to bat for Angel Martinez with two outs and two runners in scoring position in the seventh inning and the Guardians clinging to a one-run lead. After fouling off a pair of two-strike offerings from Kyle Finnegan, he lined a two-run single into left field that gave the Guardians a bit of breathing room. For the season, the versatile 28-year-old is now hitting .213/.289/.365 with 12 homers, 41 RBI and nine swipes in 409 plate appearances.

Schneeman, who was hitting .149/.186/.269 in his previous 20 games, started in center field tonight after playing second base on Saturday and third base on Sunday. It looked like he might be losing playing time last week, when he sat versus lefties, a common occurrence, on Tuesday and Wednesday and then against a righty on Friday, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now. Schneeman is batting .223/.302/.380 in 378 plate appearances on the season.

Schneemann stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the fourth inning and delivered a two-run double to put the Guardians on the board. He drew a walk in the sixth, then knocked a base hit and scored the go-ahead run in the ninth. The 28-year-old super-utility man is hitting .220/.302/.378 with 11 homers, 42 runs scored, 36 RBI, and nine steals across 369 plate appearances.

Schneemann has been earning more starts in a super utility role over the last few weeks and has gone 20-for-75 (.267) in 24 games since the All-Star break. That has come with one home run, seven RBI, and 14 runs scored, so there is not a lot of fantasy value to mine here.

Schneeman has typically hit in the bottom half of the order for the Guardians, but he’s batted second in his last three starts, and it worked out very well today, as he was right in front of José Rámirez, who was, believe it or not, the Guardians’ other top performer in the contest. Schneeman is batting .226/.312/.397 in 286 plate appearances while playing primarily against righties. That he’s seeing more time in the outfield now with Gabriel Arias back is further bad news for Nolan Jones and Angel Martínez.

Schneemann extended the Guardians’ lead to 4-0 with his blast off Justin Verlander in the fourth inning. He’s now gone deep eight times in 2025, and that homer along with a single has him slashing a respectable .248/.330/.446. Those numbers play up because he’s eligible to play up the middle, and it seems likely that he’ll be in the lineup against right-handed hurlers more often than not.

Schneeman was a thorn in the Yankees side here. He smacked a run-scoring double in the first inning to extend the Guardians’ lead and stole his fourth base of the season a few innings later. He’d fallen a bit cold at the plate without a multi-hit effort in nearly a full month, but has maintained the lion’s share of starts at second base for Cleveland. He’s seen an uptick in his power this season that’s fueled an .801 OPS to this point. That and just enough speed makes him an interesting option in deeper leagues

The Guardians aren’t fond of Schneeman in matchups against lefties, but he’s been one of their best hitters versus righties, coming in at .230/.330/.500 with eight homers in 113 plate appearances. As a platoon guy who doesn’t steal bases, he offers little in the way of mixed-league potential. He’s turned into a fixture against righties, though.

Schneemann has emerged into a near full-time role for the Guardians of late, playing second base, center field, and now left field. He’s hitting .344 over his last 15 games with three home runs and eight RBI, which makes him worth scooping in deeper formats while he’s playing this regularly. Steven Kwan will DH on Wednesday with Kyle Manzardo getting the day off.

Schneemann got the start at second base with José Ramirez out of the lineup and was the hero for the team on Saturday. He had driven in the only run of the game for Cleveland, taking Chad Green deep for a solo homer in the eighth inning. With the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the ninth, down by two runs, Schneemann slugged a grand slam off Yimi García to take the lead. The 28-year-old utility man is hitting .276/.344/.552 with four homers and nine RBI across 65 plate appearances.
