Soriano, who turns 27 in March, had some success for the Marlins as a rookie in 2023, but he’s struggled with the home run ball since and amassed a 7.64 ERA in 66 innings during his time in the majors the last two seasons. If he sticks on the roster, he’ll compete for a bullpen spot in spring training.

Lombard earns the promotion to the upper minors after tearing the cover off the ball at the outset of the season for High-A Hudson Valley, batting .329/.495/.488 with 10 extra-base hits and 11 steals through 24 games. The 19-year-old top prospect has made tremendous strides since being selected 26th overall in the 2023 MLB Draft. He’s not quite an elite dynasty prospect yet for fantasy purposes, but he’s certainly on that trajectory, especially as he continues to improve at the plate.

Kirby is going to need multiple rehab starts after missing the first month-plus of the 2025 season with shoulder inflammation. Assuming no setbacks, the 27-year-old should be back pounding the strike zone for Seattle in the coming weeks, and is obviously a fantasy get in leagues where fellow fantasy managers didn’t have patience/roster room.

As long as he rebounds well from that outing, he’ll be cleared to face live hitters his next time out. Kirby is still going to require a long buildup before he’s ready to join the Mariners’ rotation, but the 27-year-old right-hander is definitely making strides in the right direction.

It’s a big step in his throwing progression as Kirby appears on track to rejoin Seattle’s rotation at some point in late May or early June following a handful of minor league rehab outings. The 27-year-old righty was shut down back in early March with right shoulder inflammation. There should be some additional clarity later this week regarding his return timetable.
