Sandridge was acquired from the Yankees at the end of January. He had a 4.55 ERA, 1.45 WHIP, and 47/17 K/BB ratio in 31 2/3 innings at Triple-A for the Yankees last season. Even if he starts at Triple-A, there is a good chance that he sees MLB innings this season.

The Yankees had designated the 26-year-old southpaw for assignment earlier in the week, so they were willing to flip him for anything that they could get. Sandridge made his big league debut with the Yankees in 2025, giving up two runs on one hit and a pair of walks over 2/3 of an inning in his lone appearance. His strikeout upside makes him a candidate to crack the Halos’ Opening Day bullpen with a strong showing in Cactus League action.

Sandridge posted a 4.66 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 54/19 K/BB ratio in 36 2/3 innings at Triple-A last season. The strikeouts are obviously intriguing, but he remains a work in progress, and will also be 27 years old on Opening Day.

Sandridge heads back to the minors with veteran reliever Geoff Harlieb taking his spot in New York’s bullpen for Sunday’s game against the Mets. The 26-year-old lefty has made exactly one appearance this season in a couple stint with the Yankees.
