Sánchez hit .199/.269/.342 in 48 games with the Astros after the trade deadline, adding four home runs and striking out 40 times. It was not the best first impression, but he will chance to get regular starts in the outfield with Yordan Alvarez playing slotting in mostly at DH in 2026.

Rome also notes that “Sánchez’s dismal performance after the trade deadline may impact his value.” The 28-year-old hit .199/.269/.342 in 48 games with the Astros, while adding four home runs and striking out 40 times. In his career, Sánchez has a moderate .239 batting average, but that comes with a solid .181 ISO and 11.5 percent barrel rate. Perhaps somebody can turn that hard contact into more consistent results.

Sánchez’s Astros tenure has been enough of a disaster to make one wonder if he’ll be non-tendered this winter. He’s hit just .194/.270/.328 in 148 plate appearances since arriving from Miami. His error tonight wasn’t a backbreaker — it just led to Brett Harris picking up an extra base on a single — but it did precede three runs scoring in the fifth.

No Astros had good days offensively in this one, but Sánchez was the only player to go hitless and strike out twice, and his mishandling of a liner to right led to a run in the eighth. He’s been a disappointment in hitting .221/.302/.385 with just seven RBI in 33 games since arriving from Miami, but he’ll still likely remain in the Astros lineup to face righties the next two days.

Sánchez put the Astros’ only run of the game on the board with a solo homer off Tanner Gordon in the second inning. Houston had just five more hits on the day as they were shut down by the Rockies. Sánchez would later be pinch-hit for with a lefty on the mound in the eighth. The 27-year-old outfielder has homers in two straight starts, giving him 11 on the season while hitting .251/.311/.417 with 51 runs scored, 40 RBI, and nine steals across 415 plate appearances.

Sánchez broke out of a major slump with a 5-for-5 night in the series opener on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to earn him a spot on Friday’s lineup against left-hander Cade Povich. Mauricio Dubon will start in his place in left field and bat seventh for the Astros on Friday evening.

Sánchez smacked a run-scoring single off of Brandon Young in the third inning that extended the Astros’ early lead to 5-1. He then rode home on a two-run blast by Yainer Diaz. He also singled in the first, fifth and ninth innings while knocking a double into right field in the seventh. With his monstrous five-hit night, the 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .249/.310/.400 with 10 homers, 38 RBI and nine stolen bases on the season.

Sánchez hit in eight of his first nine games for the Astros, but he’s currently in a 0-for-22 slump that’s lowered his average to .242. He’ll almost surely be on the bench Tuesday against lefty Tarik Skubal.

Mauricio Dubón is starting in left field. The Astros faced nothing but righties in Sánchez’s first eight games with the team. On Sunday, he was dropped in the lineup but did start against Max Fried, finishing 0-for-3 in the Astros’ 7-1 win. Tonight, he’s on the bench against Garrett Crochet, which seems like an obvious call. It’d be nice if Sánchez got more starts against lesser lefties than he did in Miami, but he doesn’t need to be finishing Crochet. He still could end up as a true platoon guy if the Astros get Jake Meyers and Yordan Alvarez back.

Sánchez has been dropped to the lower third of the lineup card with Houston facing a left-handed starter for the first time since his arrival at last month’s trade deadline. Cam Smith gets the nod in right field for Saturday afternoon’s matinee at Yankee Stadium with Carlos Correa being bumped up to the second spot in the lineup.

Sánchez is enjoying one of his best seasons, slashing .256/.320/.420 with 10 homers, 36 RBI, and nine steals through 86 games. He’s also posting a career-low 20.8 percent strikeout rate while registering an 11.8 percent barrel rate and 91.2 mph average exit velocity. While IoanDepot Park is not a great home park, it’s not much worse for left-handed hitters than Daikin Park, so Sánchez won’t get a major park upgrade here, and he still figures to sit against left-handed pitchers with the Astros having so many right-handed outfielders. However, his lineup context gets a big boost, especially with Jeremy Pena and Yordan Alvarez nearing a return, so Sánchez is valuable in most league types.

Sánchez singled to start the game in to top of the first and scored Miami’s first run on a base hit by Kyle Stowers. He’d fly out to end the inning as the Marlins hit around the order in a six-run inning. Sánchez added two more hits in the game for a three-hit effort. The 27-year-old outfielder is hitting .248/.349/.360 with three homers, 14 RBI and five steals across 146 plate appearances.

Sánchez extended the lead for the Marlins to 3-0 with a solo homer off Randy Vásquez in the second inning. It’d be the last run for Miami in the extra-innings loss. He also singled and walked to improve his slash to a still-shaky .231/.338/.347. It’s worth noting that has come over a sample of just 33 games, but a lack of a large sample isn’t a good reason to add Sánchez to a fantasy roster.

Sánchez laced a run-scoring double into center field off of Kyle Hendricks in the fifth inning, extending the Marlins’ early lead to 3-0. That would be his lone hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. For the season, the 27-year-old outfielder is slashing just .222/.328/.316 with two homers, 13 RBI and five stolen bases across 137 plate appearances since his return from the injured list.

Sánchez’s homer started the bottom of the first and his triple, on a hard smash down the first base line, won it in the ninth. The balls were hit 112.1 and 113.0 mph, respectively. It’s been a very quiet start for Sánchez since he missed the first three weeks with an oblique strain, but he might be turning things around now. He also improved to 5-for-5 stealing bases tonight.

Sánchez led off the home half of the first inning with a single and scored the game’s first run as Eric Wagaman hit a sacrifice fly. He then sparked a four-run rally in the sixth by drawing a leadoff walk and scored on an RBI single by Kyle Stowers. The 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .227/.330/.284 with one homer, eight RBI and four stolen bases in 25 games to begin his 2025 season.

Sánchez got the Marlins on the board first in this one as he plated Xavier Edwards with an RBI single off of Bryse Wilson before an out had been recorded. He then swiped second base and advanced to third on an error, but the Marlins couldn’t cash him in from there. The 27-year-old outfielder then reached on an infield single in the third inning and again pilfered second base but was stranded there. With his two-hit attack. he’s now hitting .235/.312/.309 with one homer, seven RBI and four stolen bases in his first 19 games.

No word on the reason for the move, but it’s worth noting that Sánchez also sat out Friday’s series opener. It’ll be Kyle Stowers moving over to right field with rookie Ronny Simon entering the lineup in left field.

It looks to be nothing more than just a routine night off for the 27-year-old outfielder who has played in nearly every game since returning from the injured list. Dane Myers will cover center field in his absence on Friday and will bat ninth against Athletics’ rookie right-hander Gunnar Hoglund.

Sánchez, 27, doubled up the Marlins’ lead with a two-run homer off Casey Lawrence. It’s the first homer of the season for the outfielder, and he’s hit an unusable .226/.333/.355 with five RBI and a single stolen base over 31 games.

Jonah Bride was designated for assignment to make room. Sánchez, out since the start of the year with an oblique strain, is back after going 3-for-10 with a double in three minor league games. With Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine playing well, the Marlins have Sánchez starting in center field and batting second tonight, putting Derek Hill on the bench. Eric Wagaman, who had been picking up starts against righties as Bride was losing them, also figures to spend more time on the bench again now. Sánchez is a fringe mixed-league option at the moment, but he could be more than that if he’s traded to a contender later on.

Jonah Bride was designated for assignment to make room. Sañchez, out since the start of the year with an oblique strain, is back after going 3-for-10 with a double in three minor league games. He’ll get a spot in the middle of the Marlins lineup against right-handers, though he could do a fair amount of DHing with both Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine playing well (and being better outfield defenders). Eric Wagaman, who had been picking up starts against righties as Bride was losing them, figures to spend more time on the bench again now. Sánchez is a fringe mixed-league option at the moment, but he could be more than that if he’s traded to a contender later on.
