Soto’s homer was part of a six-run fourth inning that gave the Mets an 8-4 lead. He has 10 of those in his last 20 games. It also sure looks like he wants to go 40/40; he’s up to 34 steals to go along with 42 homers. 23 of his steals have come in his 56 games during the second half.

A slow April by Soto had some thinking his best days, power-wise, could have been behind him. Well, this long ball tied the career-best he set last season with 10 games to go. He missed another one later in this game by about two inches – literally – as it sliced just before the left field foul pole off Padres flamethrower Mason Miller. That could have tied the game, but Soto had to settle for just the one home run.

Soto went deep off Hoby Milner in the seventh inning and knocked a base hit in the ninth in New York’s loss to the Rangers on Saturday. The home run brings Soto to 40 on the year for his second straight 40-homer campaign. The 26-year-old outfielder is hitting .264/.398/.529 with 113 runs scored, 97 RBI, and 32 steals across 655 plate appearances.

The Mets continue to lose games, but Soto’s doing everything he can to pull them from the doldrums. They’d scored just two runs before a futile ninth inning rally when they were already behind by more than a touchdown and Soto scored each of them. His home run was 39th and stolen base his 31st as he’s somehow become the best power-speed threat in the entire league in his first season as a Met.

Soto’s home run was his 38th this year. The 26-year-old outfielder has six home runs and 14 RBI over his last eight games. Soto is enjoying one of the best fantasy campaigns of his career thanks to his career-high 28 stolen bases. He’s hitting .262 with a .928 OPS and 93 RBI this year.

Soto, who tied a career-high with six RBI, also walked twice and scored two runs. It was his first grand slam of the season and also his first triple, the latter of which pushed the Mets ahead in the sixth. Soto is on an a rampage at the plate in recent days, hitting .467 (7-for-15) with four homers, 11 RBI, three steals, and seven runs scored. His OPS sits at .915 for the year, his highest point since early July.

After he was hit by a pitch in the first inning, Soto drew a walk, stole second, and scored a run in the second inning. He then took Edward Cabrera deep for a solo homer in the fourth before going yard for a second time with a two-run blast in the sixth. Soto walked in the eighth to reach for a fifth time. The 26-year-old outfielder is hitting .254/.395/.508 with 35 homers, 102 runs scored, 84 RBI, and 24 steals across 596 plate appearances.

Things started out great for Soto and the Mets in this one. They jumped all over Braves’ starter Carlos Carrasco for six runs through two innings, capitalized by Soto’s 407 foot laser beam over the center field fence. Then, the wheels fell off when they allowed 11 unanswered runs and were shut out over the final seven innings of this game. Soto had multiple at-bats with men on base during that stretch, and struck out each time. He’s still having an excellent season with 29 homers and an .878 OPS, but this Mets team is in freefall.

Soto has now hit solo homers in two straight games as the Mets’ lineup (and possibly season) completely unravels. Despite his noted struggles with runners in scoring position, he’s still having an excellent season with 27 home runs, 65 RBI, and a shocking 17 stolen bases through 114 games.

Jeff McNeil led off the bottom of the fourth inning last night with a single against Logan Allen. That was the Mets’ last hit until Soto hit one 420 feet to center in the ninth inning today. Angel Martínez didn’t time his jump well at the wall, but even if he had, he probably would have come up a little short of being able to glove it. It was Soto’s first homer in nine games and 26th of the season.

Soto found himself back anchoring New York’s lineup following a brief one-game absence after fouling a ball off his left foot earlier this week. X-rays came back negative for the 26-year-old generational talent, who shouldn’t miss any additional time due to the issue.

Soto sat out Wednesday afternoon’s matinee in San Diego after fouling a ball off his left foot during Tuesday’s contest. The encouraging news for fantasy managers is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures and he’s been diagnosed with a contusion. It appears he’s avoided serious injury and will be back for Friday’s showdown at Citi Field.

Soto was removed Tuesday against the Padres after suffering a contusion on his left foot. The 26-year-old slugger is considered day-to-day, but he’ll get at least one game off with Jeff McNeil getting the start in right field.

Soto has served as a DH just twice this season, but maybe the Mets could give him a game or two there to help with his foot contusion, which he suffered when he fouled a ball off himself in Tuesday’s game.

Soto remained in the contest initially, but appeared to be in a considerable amount of pain, after fouling a ball off his foot during a fourth-inning at-bat. The 26-year-old generational talent will head for precautionary X-rays to determine whether he suffered any fractures. There should be an additional update on his status following the contest.

The Mets entered the seventh inning trailing 3-2, but Ronny Mauricio evened the score with a solo shot into McCovey Cove off of Randy Rodríguez. After a pair of strikeouts, Soto then crushed a 374-foot (103.0 mph EV) solo shot that gave the Mets a lead they wouldn’t relinquish. The 26-year-old superstar finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .252/.386/.496 with 25 homers, 62 RBI and 14 stolen bases on the season.

Soto put the Mets on the board in the fourth inning, breaking a scoreless game with a two-run blast off Jonathan Bowlan for his only hit of the game. Soto homered in back-to-back days against Kansas City and has slugged 23 on the season while slashing .265/.400/.515 with 70 runs scored, 56 RBI, and 11 steals across 419 plate appearances.

The home run was No. 22 on the season for Soto. He crushed a solo home run off Taylor Clarke in the ninth inning. Soto was notably left out of this month’s All-Star game festivities despite rebounding in a major way after a slow start this year. He’s hitting .265 with a .910 OPS and 54 RBI this season.

This was a 1-0 game through five. After that, the Mets jumped ahead 2-1, fell behind 6-2 and then scored four in the eighth to tie it. The remaining run came when Soto singled in the automatic runner in extras. Soto is sitting at .269/.399/.509 for the season, and it just feels like, if the world happens to still exist 1,000 years from now, how Soto didn’t get picked for the 2025 All-Star Game is going to be one of its biggest mysteries.

The 23-year-old Brito, who has already missed eight weeks this season with a torn thumb ligament, is hitting .256/.357/.463 in 24 games for Columbus. There’s a good chance he’d be the Guardians’ second baseman right now if he could have remained healthy since the start of the season.

The first game of the Subway Series in Citi Field went much differently for Soto than back in May when these two teams met in Yankee Stadium. His Mets fell behind 2-0 after the top of the first and he responded with a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the frame. It was a huge moment and he followed it up with a double in his next at-bat before Pete Alonso drove him in for what at the time was a go-ahead run. Soto singled again later on, falling just a triple short of the cycle. He even hit another ball to the warning track in his final plate appearance. After a ‘cold’ start to the season, he now has 21 home runs and a .915 OPS that continues to climb.

Soto’s home run represented the Mets’ lone run in a horrible, blowout loss against Pittsburgh in this one. While the Mets fell flat, Soto continued what’s been an incredible month. With two games left in June, he’s up to 11 home runs with a 1.259 OPS and 10 more walks than strikeouts. That’s inconceivably good and he’s returned to being one of the best hitters in baseball.

Hitters get hot all the time. Not many hitters have ever gotten as hot as Soto has this month. He has 10 home runs and a .315/.485/.685 slash line through 23 games in June. Even more impressively, this multi-homer game was the 27th of Soto’s career. With it, he passed the legendary Jimmie Foxx for the most multi-home run games before turning 27 years old. Despite a “cold” start to the season, Soto now leads the Mets with 19 home runs and has an .898 OPS. In case there was any question about it, he’s back to being one of the few best hitters in the entire sport.

The top three hitters in the Mets order — Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Soto — homered consecutively in the third inning and finished the game 8-for-13 with five homers and nine RBI between them. It’s Soto’s second two-homer game as a Met and 26th overall. He’s hit .327 with eight homers, 16 RBI and 21 walks in his last 21 games.

Soto took Clayton Kershaw deep for his only hit of the game, sending a two-run blast to right center field. It was Soto’s third home run in four games and his 11th on the season as he’s hitting .233/.361/.438 with 39 runs scored, 30 RBI, and seven steals across 269 plate appearances.

The homer off Antonio Senzatela was Soto’s first in three weeks. It’s not much, especially coming against Colorado pitching, but he has collected three hits the last two days. His batted-ball numbers still say there’s nothing at all wrong here, but Mets fans and fantasy leaguers have to be tired of hearing that by now.

The 26-year-old slugger reached on an error by Max Muncy in the opening inning and then rode home on a two-run blast off the bat of Pete Alonso. Soto then drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the third inning and swiped second base before ultimately getting stranded there. With his 0-for-4 evening he’s now hitting a disappointing .236/.363/.414 on the season, though that has come with eight homers, 24 RBI and seven stolen bases. He has already matched his stolen base total from the 2024 season and is just five swipes away from his career-high.

Soto broke a 2-2 tie with a bases-loaded double off the center-field wall to score a pair. The 26-year-old also singled to improve his average to a still-disappointing .241, and he’s now plated 23 runs in his first season with the Mets. It’s hard to imagine there’s not going to be many, more of these games for the slugger over the summer.

Soto was extremely slow getting out of the box on a sixth-inning line-drive that hit roughly two-thirds of the way up on Fenway Park’s iconic Green Monster in left field, which left him with just a single on the play. “We’ll talk to him about it,” Mendoza said afterwards. The 26-year-old generational talent is hitting .167 (4-for-24) over his last seven games and has gone without a home run in eight straight contests. It’s worth noting that he’s gone deep five times in 16 games overall since the start of May, but he’s going through a bit of a cold spell at the plate right now.
