As Passan notes, it’s incredibly rare for a 33-year-old player who is a DH-only to get so much money. Especially one with a career track record of high strikeout totals and poor batting average; however, he plays every day and leads the National League in home runs and RBI. While a return to Philadelphia feels likely, Passan believes that plenty of teams - Like Texas, San Diego, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, and Cincinnati - might be willing to pay top dollar for Schwarber.

Schwarber followed up his historic four-home run performance with a much more tame outing here. Yet, he scored both of the Phillies’ runs on their way to a grind-it-out victory over the Braves where they were out-hit 12 to six. He came home with the winning run after a seven-pitch battle against reliever Dylan Lee that ended with him muscling a single to right field, advancing from first to third on a single, and coming home on a sacrifice fly. That’s called range, folks.
