The Jays needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for the addition of Kazuma Okamoto on Sunday and unfortunately for Schultz it appears as though he drew the short straw this time around. The 27-year-old hurler posted a 4.38 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and a 28/8 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings with the Jays in 2025. He could attract some interest on waivers with so many teams starved for quality bullpen depth.

The 27-year-old hurler will rejoin the Jays’ bullpen to take the place of the injured José Berríos (elbow). Schultz has made 13 appearances with the Jays already this season, compiling a 4.38 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and a 28/8 K/BB ratio over 24 2/3 innings.

Schultz provides Toronto with some additional long relief depth for Sunday’s series finale against the Marlins. The 27-year-old righty has posted a serviceable 4.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (12 appearances, two starts) this season at the highest level.

Schultz returns to Toronto’s relief mix before the second game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Orioles. The 27-year-old rookie right-hander is back following a one-month absence recovering from right middle finger inflammation.

No word yet on how much time Schultz will wind up missing. The 27-year-old righty has done a nice job this season his first shot in the majors, compiling a respectable 4.56 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 27/8 K/BB ratio across 23 2/3 innings (12 appearances, two starts). There should be a definitive return timeline at some point in the coming days.

Schultz had a 3.06 ERA in 17 2/3 innings over eight appearances for the Jays before being sent down on June 7. He’ll serve as a middle reliever foe now, but he can make spot starts if needed.

The Blue Jays needed to free up a spot on their active roster for the arrival of Spencer Turnbull and Schultz drew the short straw this time around. The 27-year-old hurler has done a nice job in seven appearances for the Jays this season, registering a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 21/4 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings of work. It shouldn’t take long for him to earn another opportunity with the big league club.

Eric Lauer should be available behind him, but the Jays probably won’t extend him too long after he threw 43 pitches on Tuesday. Braydon Fisher might also go multiple innings tonight.

Schultz worked as an extended opener for Eric Lauer in this one, but was the much more impressive pitcher. The big right-hander worked his fastball and cutter at the top of the zone to slice through the Rangers’ hitters. He was only trusted to take one full revolution around the lineup though and Lauer came on right when Josh Smith came up for his second go-around. Schultz’s stuff is mildly interesting though and he’d be worth a look in deeper leagues if ever deployed as a true starter.

It’ll ostensibly function as a bullpen game for Toronto on Wednesday evening at Globe Life Field. Schultz holds a solid 2.53 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 13/3 K/BB ratio across 10 2/3 innings (four appearances) this season in the majors. There’s no real streaming appeal here for fantasy purposes, but it’s notable that the 27-year-old rookie is working his way into a more prominent role with the club.

Schultz is up with Yimi Garcia (shoulder) hitting the injured list. The 27-year-old has performed well in the minors and had success in his MLB debut with eight strikeouts against the Mariners back in April, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option.

Schultz provides the Blue Jays with a fresh relief arm heading into Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners. It’s the first call up for the 27-year-old righty, who gets the promotion after posting a solid 2.08 ERA across 8 2/3 innings (four appearances) to open the year at Triple-A Buffalo.
