Stewart has made five appearances at third base this season, but this is his first start. He started four games for the Reds there last year and plenty in the minor leagues, so we know he can play the position. What’s most interesting is that this allows the Reds to get Nathaniel Lowe in the lineup at first base and could open up a path to play both Stewart and Lowe when Eugenio Suarez (oblique) is off the IL and back at DH. This could be bad news for Ke’Bryan Hayes’ playing time.

Stewart and the Reds’ offense was able to hit three homers off Jack Flaherty and the Detroit bullpen. The 22-year-old rookie has been outstanding, and swatted his ninth homer of the season off Flaherty with a couple of runners on. Stewart singled twice after that, and he’s now hitting .303 with an OPS of 1.025 and 29 runs driven in over the first month of the season. Hard to ask for much more than that, especially for a player in his first full season of MLB action.

Stewart continues to find a way to make a fantasy impact, even when he’s not driving the ball into the seats. The 22-year-old sensational rookie smacked a two-run single to cap off a four-run outburst in the sixth inning and also added a sacrifice fly in the next frame. He also picked up his sixth stolen base of the year in this one.

Stewart has been one of the most impactful all-around contributors in the entire fantasy landscape this season, hitting .289/.388/.639 with 17 runs scored, eight homers, 21 RBI and five steals across 23 games. There were some concerns about the 22-year-old rookie’s path to everyday at-bats during the offseason, but he’s done more than enough to answer those question marks with his early-season performance. His ability to consistently drive the ball without sacrificing anything from a plate skills perspective is extremely impressive to watch.

Matt McLain, who is off to a brutal start hitting .183 (13-for-71) with three extra-base hits and three steals in 20 games, takes a seat with Stewart getting a look at second base for the second time this season. Nathaniel Lowe gets into the lineup at the cold corner. It’s far too early for Cincinnati to consider any significant changes, but McLain’s slow start opens the door for Stewart to see additional time at the keystone. That would be a significant development for his fantasy appeal if he gains eligibility at one of the thinnest positions in the game.

The 22-year-old phenom reached base on an error in the fourth inning, swiped second base and raced home to score on Eugenio Suarez’s two-run double. He has been an absolute monster for fantasy purposes so far, slashing .300/.405/.657 with seven homers, 14 runs scored, 17 RBI and four swipes in his first 84 plate appearances.

Stewart launched a pair of three-run opposite-field homers against Giants veteran starter Tyler Mahle in the first two innings of the contest to record the first multi-homer performance of his young career. He finished 2-for-4 at the dish in the one-sided affair. The 22-year-old burgeoning slugger leads all rookies with seven round-trippers across 18 games while hitting .323 (20-for-62) with 17 RBI and three steals this season. To say he’s been a revelation would be an understatement. It’s too early to make any definitive predictions, but Stewart looks like he’s going to be an impactful fantasy contributor for years to come.

Stewart demolished a high fastball from Giants southpaw Robbie Ray in the fourth inning for his fifth round-tripper of the year. The majestic opposite-field blast traveled 390 feet. The 22-year-old power-hitting rookie has been a revelation for fantasy managers, hitting .310 (18-for-58) with five homers, 11 RBI and three steals through 17 games.

He took a Max Meyer fastball out almost to dead center, it landed 409 feet away when it was all said and done. Stewart, hitting .364/.473/.727 with four homers and three steals in his first 44 plate appearances, looks like one of the biggest fantasy steals by ADP so far. Just 22, he might be a linchpin for fantasy mangers going forward and has definitely forced his way into the high-end keeper discussion.

The Miami native capped off another impressive showing in his hometown by taking Marlins starter Eury Pérez deep in the fifth inning for his third round-tripper of the young season. He also picked up his third theft of the year in this one. The talented 22-year-old rookie sensation is off to a phenomenal start, hitting .366 (15-for-41) with three homers, eight RBI and three steals through 12 games. He looks like a potential franchise cornerstone for Cincinnati to build around for years to come and is making a significant all-around fantasy impact already.

Reds GM Nick Krall said he’s open to a long-term extension as well, though the key line here is probably “the parties haven’t discussed it and the team doesn’t appear to have any immediate plans to initiate talks with the season underway.” Stewart is hitting .474/.615/.947 on the young season and appears set to be a long-term fixture for the Reds at the corners, whether he is able to agree on a long-term deal with Cincinnati or not.

What an incredible first series for Stewart, who went 7-for-10 with four extra-base hits and a 0/3 K/BB against the Red Sox. The rest of the Reds went 14-for-93 with three-extra base hits and a 33/11 K/BB over the course of the three games, two of which turned into wins anyway.

Stewart was replaced by Dane Myers, with TJ Friedl moving from center to left and Spencer Steer going from left to first. That might have proven costly in the 11th, but Myers came through with the game-winning hit in a tie game. Manager Terry Francona’s fondness for Steer could have an impact on Stewart if the rookie goes into a lengthy slump at any point. However, Stewart is already off to a fantastic start, having gone 5-for-8 with two doubles and no strikeouts, and odds are that he’ll remain very productive.

Reds manager Terry Francona told reporters Stewart is dealing with some left wrist soreness after being drilled by a 110-mph line drive from Red Sox star Roman Anthony during Thursday’s opener. It sounds like he somehow managed to avoid serious injury and isn’t going to miss any time. The power-hitting 22-year-old top prospect went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles during his season debut.

Stewart had 75% of Cincinnati’s hits and 83% of their total bases today, with Elly De La Cruz’s single being the team’s only other knock. Stewart gave the Reds a big scare in the fifth when Roman Anthony’s 110-mph liner to first went off the wrist/forearm area of his glove hand. He immediately signaled for the trainer, but he was able to remain in after taking a couple of minutes to recover.

Stewart is coming off a strong spring and a good end of the season in his MLB debut last year. If he continues to hit in the middle of this lineup, he’s going to have tremendous value this season. The rest of the Reds’ Opening Day lineup is: T.J. Friedl CF, Matt McLain 2B, Elly De La Cruz SS, Sal Stewart 1B, Eugenio Suarez DH, Spencer Steer LF, Tyler Stephenson C, Noelvi Marte RF, and Ke’Bryan Hayes 3B.

Fascinating is that Stewart has now hit cleanup ahead of Eugenio Suárez in back-to-back games. We figured it’d take at least a couple of months for that to happen, but he truly does seem like the best choice. He’s hit .357/.471/.667 this spring after crushing it in the minors and in his brief major league audition in September. He might well prove to the biggest bargain in this year’s drafts.

Stewart went deep for the third time this spring when he took Angels starter Jack Kochanowicz out to right field in the third inning of this one. The power-hitting 22-year-old corner infielder has flashed a little bit of everything this spring, batting .333 (12-for-36) with four steals in 15 games. There are some playing time questions that need to be answered but he’s simply too talented for Reds manager Terry Francona to leave on the bench.

Stewart knocked Elly De La Cruz after he walked and stole second with two outs in the first. As it turned out, it was the Reds’ only hit in the contest. That’s pretty fun, but it’s also notable that Stewart is now 4-for-4 stealing bases this spring. We’re expecting him to be one of the year’s biggest bargains even if he doesn’t do much running, but 15 steals would be a very nice bonus.

It won’t count towards his spring training stats but Stewart delivered another impressive showing, walloping a no-doubter to right field that gave Cincinnati a commanding nine-run advantage in the fourth inning. The 22-year-old slugging prospect ostensibly learned how to pull the ball more consistently to start tapping into his big-time power upside last year in the minors, finishing with 25 big flies in 136 games, including five in 18 big-league contests. He’s a strong contact hitter for a burgeoning slugger, which insulates against a total collapse at the highest level, and if the power spike sticks, he projects as a consistent 25-plus homer threat. He’s a strong late-round sleeper candidate in fantasy drafts this spring.

Terry Francona likes his veterans, so it’d be for the best if Stewart left nothing to chance this spring as far as forcing his way into Cincinnati’s lineup. He’s 6-for-14 with two homers, three walks and two steals thus far. Consider him one of the NL Rookie of the Year favorites.

Stewart crushed a tone-setting solo shot that left his bat at – and traveled -, per Statcast, off White Sox starter Davis Martin in the opening frame. The 22-year-old top prospect should be a popular sleeper candidate this spring based on what he showed last year during a brief 18-game stint with Cincinnati where he mashed five round-trippers. There are some immediate playing time concerns but he’s talented enough that Reds manager Terry Francona shouldn’t have too much trouble finding a spot for him on the lineup card.

Stewart’s playing-time storyline feels less like a minor subplot and more like a central theme this spring, as Cincinnati simply may not have everyday at-bats available for him alongside Eugenio Suárez and Spencer Steer. The Reds also have veteran Nathaniel Lowe in camp as another first base option. The 22-year-old power-hitting prospect is expected to focus primarily on first base during camp as he competes for a starting role at the cold corner. His occasional appearances at second base appear to be less about a permanent positional shift and more about expanding his defensive résumé.

He’ll also mix in at second base, with the intention that he would slide over there on days when Matt McLain is off or Elly De La Cruz is off and McLain moves over to shortstop. Francona wants the majority of Stewart’s emphasis this spring though to be at first base. As long as his bat finds its way into the Reds’ lineup on a regular basis, fantasy managers won’t care where he’s lined up defensively.

Stewart has reportedly lost over 20 pounds this offseason and is expected to focus primarily on playing first base this spring with defensive stalwart Ke’Bryan Hayes occupying the hot corner in Cincinnati. The 22-year-old power-hitting prospect has a chance to be an immediate four-category impact fantasy producer after slashing a robust .309/.383/.524 with 20 homers and 17 steals in 494 plate appearances between Double-A Dayton and Triple-A Louisville last season. He’ll compete with incumbent Spencer Steer for the starting job at first base but there’s a clear path to everyday at-bats at DH after the Reds jettisoned Gavin Lux earlier this month. Stewart projects as an immediate 20-homer, 10-steal threat, which makes him an intriguing late-round selection in fantasy drafts this spring. He’s a top-20 overall prospect for dynasty purposes.

Not bad for a rookie deemed unworthy of starting the first game of the series. We don’t know that the Reds will play any additional postseason games these next few years, but if they do, we’re pretty sure Stewart will be in the lineup for any and every one of them.

Stewart will get an opportunity in the heart of Cincinnati’s lineup to face Dodgers co-ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto after coming off the bench during the late stages of Tuesday’s series opener. The 21-year-old top prospect adds some serious thunder to the middle of the order in a win-or-go-home spot for the Reds after homering five times in 18 regular-season contests after being called up in early September. Here’s the full lineup: TJ Friedl (CF), Spencer Steer (LF), Gavin Lux (DH), Austin Hays (RF), Stewart (1B), Elly De La Cruz (SS), Tyler Stephenson (C), Ke’Bryan Hayes (3B) and Matt McLain (2B).

Stewart opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Robert Gasser in the third inning that plated Noelvi Marte. He then crushed a 387-foot (102.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Grant Anderson in the sixth inning that increased the Reds’ lead to 7-2. The 21-year-old slugger has done a nice job in his limited time with the Reds, slashing .255/.293/.545 with five homers and eight RBI in only 58 plate appearances.

Stewart takes a seat for the second consecutive contest after going 0-for-3 with three strikeouts during Thursday’s series opener against the Cubs. It’ll be Spencer Steer at the cold corner with defensive standout Ke’Bryan Hayes at third base. The 21-year-old top prospect has homered four times in 14 games since arriving in the big leagues earlier this month.

Stewart has four homers in 11 big-league games. He was due to make his second start at third base tonight, but he was moved back to first after Spencer Steer was scratched. The homer tonight came in his first at-bat against Matthew Liberatore. In his second, he hit a ball 391 feet that would have been a homer in 20 ballparks, but it was just a flyout in Busch. With the 21-year-old Stewart sporting a .919 OPS at the moment, it’s hard not to think about how the Reds’ decision to delay calling him up might have cost them a game or two in the standings.
