According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Dodgers’ bench coach Danny Lehmann is among the candidates to become the Braves’ next manager.
Bowman notes that Lehmann worked previously with Braves’ president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos as an advance video scout with the Dodgers during the 2016-2017 seasons. Bowman also adds that Tigers’ bench coach George Lombard and Cubs’ bench coach Ryan Flaherty are also candidates to fill the Braves’ managerial vacancy. We have already seen the Rangers, Giants, Angels, Twins, Orioles and Nationals name new managers in the past week or so. The only three teams that have yet to find their next skipper are the Braves, Rockies and Padres. It’s possible that the Braves have tabbed Lehmann as their guy and are simply waiting on the World Series to end before finalizing a deal.
