Trout got the Angels on the board and started the comeback bid as he ambushed a first-pitch sweeper from Jason Alexander for a 413-foot (107.0 mph EV) solo shot to get the Angels on the board in the fourth inning. He then broke a 3-3 tie with a 395-foot (107.2 mph EV) off of Bryan King in the eighth inning. The 34-year-old slugger is now slashing .230/.356/.431 with 25 homers and 63 RBI on the season. It’s the 10th time in his career that he has eclipsed the 25-homer plateau, but the first time he has done so since 2022.

Trout’s home run was his 23rd of the year and 401st of his career. The 34-year-old DH hit a two-run shot in the eighth inning. Trout managed to play at least 100 games for the first time since 2022 this year, but a late-season slump put a damper on what was already the worst offensive season of his career.

Trout etched his name into the history books in the eighth inning with a mammoth 485-foot (114.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Jaden Hill that capped off the scoring in the contest. He becomes just the 59th player in MLB history to reach the 400-homer plateau. He’s just the fifth player in MLB history to have 400 or more home runs and 200 or more stolen bases by his age-33 season — joining Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez. That’s some pretty elite company. On the season, he’s now slashing .229/.358/.414 with 22 homers, 59 RBI and two stolen bases across 535 plate appearances.

Trout etched his name into the history books in the eighth inning with a mammoth 485-foot (114.9 mph EV) solo shot off of Colorado reliever Jaden Hill that capped off the scoring in the contest. He’s just the 59th player in history to reach the 400-homer plateau and the fifth ever with 400 home runs and 200-plus by his age-33 season — joining Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Alex Rodriguez. That’s some pretty elite company. On the season, he’s now slashing .229/.358/.414 with 22 homers, 59 RBI and two stolen bases across 535 plate appearances. The 34-year-old has been plagued by knee injuries the past few seasons, but there’s zero doubt he’ll wind up as a surefire first-ballot Hall of Famer as one of his generation’s iconic talents when he finally decides to hang up his spikes.

Trout struck out in his first two at-bats, and then smacked a solo homer to tie the game at 4-4 off Bryce Miller. The 34-year-old is now two blasts away from reaching 400 on his career, and he’s hit 21 of them in 2025. Obviously he’s nowhere near the player he once was, but Trout is still a relevant player even without the steals or the average.

No word yet regarding the severity of the issue, but the positive news is it’s unrelated to his surgically repaired knee. Jo Adell moved over to DH with Chris Taylor entering the lineup in right field. There should be an update from Angels interim manager Ray Montgomery following the contest. Fantasy managers should consider Trout day-to-day heading into Wednesday’s contest in Kansas City.

It’s a rare two-double game from Trout, who entered with just 10 two-baggers this season. His last such game came on April 23, 2023, though he’s had five two-homer games since then. His second double today was a 404-foot shot off the wall in left-center. Statcast says it would have been a homer in 21 ballparks.

Trout took Rays starter Shane Baz deep in the third inning of Wednesday afternoon’s matinee in Los Angeles for his 20th big fly of the season and 398th career round-tripper. The 33-year-old fantasy stalwart has gone deep three times in 17 games since last month’s All-Star break. More importantly, the transition to a full-time DH role has enabled him to stay in the lineup.

Trout elaborated that he’s been dealing with a decent amount of soreness in his surgically-repaired knee and remains without a definitive timeline to return to playing right field. The 33-year-old generational talent added that he’s been feeling it while running the bases and taking swings recently, which certainly doesn’t sound good. He’ll likely be limited to DH for the final two months.

Soon is subjective, and becomes even more so because Trout also told reporters there’s no timeline for a potential return to the field. He did do some work in the right field prior to Friday’s game, which is a positive development. The 33-year-old will continue to be in the lineup for the Angels as the designated hitter, and he’s forged a .238/.365/.471 slash with 17 homers and 41 RBi over his 2025 campaign.

Trout’s 17th homer of the 2025 campaign gave the Angels a 6-2 lead in the fifth. The future Hall of Famer drove in two more with a single in the eighth to make it 10-5 and put the game out of reach. Trout is hitting just .236, but the .471 slugging percentage and .359 on-base mark have been nice to see over the first half of the 2025 season.

Trout tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run homer in the third, and he gave the Halos a 6-5 lead in the fifth with his second troundtripper. The 33-year-old is up to 16 homers on the season, and that solid number is even more solid when considering he missed close to a month with injury. When Trout is on the field, he remains one of the better power threats in baseball. The other skills don’t appear to be at that same level, but the pop isn’t going anywhere.

Trout started the game with a solo shot off of Kevin Gausman in the first inning, but he went quiet from there. The 33-year-old has 14 home runs and 32 RBI on the season and is coming off a solid month of June in a revitalized Angels lineup. He remains a must-start player in fantasy leagues.

Trout gets his first day off since June 1 after launching a solo homer during Saturday’s one-sided win over the Nationals. He also drew a walk. Trout smashed his 13th home of the season with a solo shot off Zach Brzykcy, and it tied the game at 2-2. The Angels would score the next six runs. It’s the fourth homer of the month for the future Hall of Famer, and he’s driven in 31 runs in 2025 over just 56 games. As long as Trout can stay healthy — a big ask at this point, to be sure — the numbers should be there.

Trout has been limited to DH-only since returning from the injured list back on May 30 as his surgically-repaired knee hasn’t progressed to the point that the Angels are comfortable putting him back out in right field. The positive takeaway here for fantasy managers is that the move to a full-time DH role eliminates some of the strain on him from a physical standpoint and could potentially help keep his bat in the lineup without additional injury risk.
