No explanation given, so we’re assuming it’s just a rest day after playing both ends of a doubleheader on Thursday. Edmundo Sosa is batting fifth and playing shortstop in Turner’s absence.

Turner opened the home half of the first inning with a bang, launching the first pitch thrown by Adrian Houser for a 373-foot (102.3 mph EV) solo shot. He also singled in the fifth inning and scored on a two-run single by Adolis Garcia. The dynamic 32-year-old shortstop is off to a bit of a slow start at the dish this season, slashing .252/.317/.386 with four homers, 11 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 139 plate appearances.

Turner is now riding a four-game hitting streak. The 32-year-old shortstop is off to a slow start, but it’s important to remember that it’s early in the season. With four hits Tuesday, Turner improved his batting average from .230 to .254. He won’t be able to do that come August.

Turner sent his third homer of the season 394 feet into the stands to give the Phillies a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning. It was the third homer of the season for Turner, who has struggled at the plate this first month of the season. The veteran shortstop is slashing a paltry .190/.288/.362 in his last 15 games and hasn’t recorded a multi-hit game since April 12th. We would expect him to get out of this slump sooner or later, but Turner is becoming increasingly harder to trust while he irons things out.

Turner’s first-inning homer was the only offense Philadelphia was able to muster against Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga for six innings to open the contest. The 32-year-old veteran shortstop is off to a bit of a slow start, hitting .260 (19-for-73) with two homers, seven RBI and one steal through 18 games.

Turner connected on an opposite-field 359-foot (97.5 mph EV) two-run shot off of Zac Gallen that tied the score at 2-2 in the sixth inning. He also singled in the ballgame. The 32-year-old shortstop is off to a bit of a slow start by his standards, hitting just .254/.299/.365 with one homer, five RBI and one stolen base through his first 15 games.

Turner’s RBI was a big one, as it drove in Brandon Marsh to break a 1-1 tie in what turned out to be the game winner. The 32-year-old also drew a walk to improve his slash to .294/.351/.382. The only reason that line is unrealistic is that slugging mark is sure to go up in the summer months.

Turner, who had been 0-for-6 this spring, was removed for a pinch-runner after singling in the fourth. He’ll be sticking around Phillies camp next month after going uninvited to rejoin Team USA for the WBC. He was one of the stars of the tournament last time around, going 9-for-23 with five homers in six games, but Bobby Witt Jr. got the nod over him this time and the club probably didn’t want to carry two shortstops who couldn’t be asked to play other positions.

Turner returns as Philadelphia’s top-of-the-order table-setter to kick off the postseason after missing a significant portion of September recovering from a hamstring strain. The 32-year-old power/speed combo fantasy star played five innings during last Sunday’s regular-season finale. Here’s the full lineup that will square off against Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani in his first career postseason start at Citizens Bank Park: Turner (SS), Kyle Schwarber (DH), Bryce Harper (1B), Alec Bohm (3B), Brandon Marsh (LF), J.T. Realmuto (C), Max Kepler (RF), Harrison Bader (CF) and Bryson Stott (2B).

No setback for Turner today, as he was expected to play about half of the game in his return from a hamstring strain. With the 0-for-2, he wins the NL batting crown at .304 for the season. Incredibly, it’s the first batting title for a Phillies player since Richie Ashburn won it in 1958. Turner was the only National Leaguer to bat .300. Nico Hoerner finished second at .297.

Turner returns to Philadelphia’s lineup for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Twins to prepare for their upcoming NL Division Series matchup. The 32-year-old shortstop will get a couple at-bats under his belt in an effort to get back up to speed after hitting the injured list back in early September with a low-grade hamstring strain. It’s an extremely positive development for the Phillies as they get their top-of-the-order catalyst back before the postseason kicks off.

The 32-year-old shortstop went through an encouraging workout on Friday and feels like he’s close, but the Phillies have no reason to rush him back into action. Expect him to get a couple of at-bats on Sunday to knock the rust off before heading into the postseason.

It remains unclear whether Turner will get into a game or two this weekend, but barring a setback, there’s little doubt he’ll be good to go for the NLDS.

There’s been plenty of optimism that Turner will be ready for the outset of next week’s playoffs but he still has a few hurdles left before he’s cleared to return since he’s yet to resume running at full strength. The 32-year-old shortstop is working his way back from a mild right hamstring strain that put him on the shelf back in early September.

The Phillies are reportedly thrilled with the progress Turner made doing baseball activities over the weekend. They are bringing three pitchers with them to start this week specifically to throw live batting practice to Turner. If that goes well, he could be activated for the final series and seems like a lock to be ready for the postseason.

Turner, who landed on the injured list last week with a low-grade right hamstring strain, is expected to resume swinging a bat later this weekend or early next week. The 32-year-old power/speed threat still needs to ramp up his running progression before he’s cleared for game action, and with just over two weeks left in the regular season, the clock is ticking on a potential return before the postseason.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Turner has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 strain and they’re optimistic he will return before the postseason. The 32-year-old power/speed threat suffered the injury Sunday against the Marlins, and while he’s expected back before the regular season ends, fantasy managers in shallow leagues may be better off moving on — a reminder of how quickly a fantasy superstar can become expendable when late-season waiver-wire heroes emerge.

The dynamic 32-year-old shortstop was lifted from Sunday’s battle against the Marlins after sustaining the injury. Remember, he missed nearly six weeks during the 2024 season with a hamstring strain, so the Phillies are going to take every possible precaution here. Fantasy managers should be sure to have an alternative option in place for next week in the event that Turner is looking at an extended absence.

Not good. Turner will undergo additional evaluation and imaging to determine the severity of the ailment. The 32-year-old fantasy force, who missed nearly six weeks last season with a hamstring strain, was 1-for-4 with his 15th home run of the season before exiting Sunday’s contest in the seventh inning after reaching on a throwing error. An extended absence would be a major blow to both Philadelphia’s lineup and fantasy managers over the final three weeks. There should be an update on his status shortly.

It’s an extremely rare off day for Turner in this one, despite holding a stratospheric .980 OPS with two homers in 42 career plate appearances against Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara. The 32-year-old fantasy stalwart gets a break with Edmundo Sosa handling shortstop in his place.

The two sides were locked in a scoreless battle until Turner finally broke through and delivered a two-out, RBI single into left field in the seventh. That would be his only hit in five at-bats on the afternoon, but proved to be the difference. The 32-year-old shortstop is now hitting .301/.354/.452 with 14 homers, 68 RBI and 36 stolen bases.

With the Phillies down 2-1, Turner, who had half of the team’s hits tonight, drove a ball through the right side of the infield with the bases loaded and two outs against Dylan Dodd in the 10th. The Braves had already used Raisel Iglesias with the score tied in the ninth and, after taking a one-run lead, tried to get through the 10th with Hunter Stratton and Dodd, which did not work out. Both of Turner’s doubles tonight came off Chris Sale, and he also stole two bases. His 34 steals this season are his high total since 2018. His career high is 46 from 2017.

Turner took Mitchell Parker deep for a solo home run to lead off the fifth inning. He added a walk in the seventh to reach for a second time. The 32-year-old shortstop is up to 14 homers while slashing .301/.355/.452 with 88 runs scored, 61 RBI, and 32 steals across 577 plate appearances.

It’s his fourth career five-hit game and first since 2020. Turner has gone 19-for-29 during a stretch of six straight multihit games, raising his average from .281 to .303. He’s seventh in the majors in average, sixth with 87 runs scored and tied for sixth with 31 steals.

Turner kicked off an impressive four-hit effort with a three-run homer – his 13th big fly of the season -- against Mariners ace Logan Gilbert in the second inning. He also drove in an additional run with a double to right field in the seventh inning to give the Phillies a commanding four-run advantage. He also tacked on an additional RBI single in the eighth inning, just for good measure. The 32-year-old shortstop has been on a tear of late, batting .365 (23-for-63) with two homers, 12 RBI and three steals over his last 15 games.

All three hits were infield singles. Turner struck out to end 3-2 loss, but it could have been worse. During the at-bat, he fouled back a pitch that actually hit the bill of his helmet. Had the ball been a couple of inches lower, the outcome likely would have been disastrous.

Turner’s home run was his 12th of the year. The 32-year-old shortstop belted a three-run home run off Luis Curvelo in the ninth inning. Turner previously drove in five runs over his last 12 games. He’s hitting .286 with a .776 OPS and 51 RBI this season.

Turner smacked a leadoff double off of Jonathan Cannon in the third inning and rode home on Kyle Schwarber’s titanic two-run blast. The dynamic 32-year-old infielder also singled in the fourth inning. He’s having another strong all-around season at the dish, slashing .292/.346/.434 with 11 homers, 44 RBI and 25 stolen bases through his first 474 plate appearances.
