Ureña, making his second appearance for the Angels, was facing one of the three teams he previously pitched for this season. He has a 4.20 ERA in 45 innings for his four squads. He’ll likely head back to the bullpen now.

Someone has to soak up innings for Los Angeles over the final month of the season. Ureña will be pitching for his big-league record fifth different team this season when he gets into a game for the Angels after spending time with the Mets, Blue Jays, Dodgers and Twins.

Ureña has been jettisoned from Minnesota’s pitching staff to clear space for prospect Mick Abel. The 33-year-old journeyman has pitched for four different organizations this season. He was torched for six runs over five innings on Thursday in a loss to the Athletics. The Twins are going to give some of their younger alternatives an opportunity over the final five weeks.

All of the damage against Ureña was somehow contained to a truly epic second-inning meltdown where he gave up run-scoring doubles to Lawrence Butler and Brent Rooker in addition to RBI singles to Darell Hernaiz and Carlos Cortes. He struck out three and issued two walks. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats until further notice.

The 33-year-old right-hander came on to get the final two outs of the third inning after Pierson Ohl had surrendered seven runs, then stayed on to work through the eighth without giving up a run. He got seven swings and misses on 76 pitches on the evening, posting a CSW of 22 percent. He’ll be unable to work for the next four days or so and could even be a candidate to start next week instead of Pierson Ohl if they decide to go that route.

Ureña walked four and threw 73 pitches — 36 of them strikes — to get his nine outs. He’ll probably start again versus the Tigers next weekend, but there’s certainly no fantasy value here.

Ureña started in place of Simeon Woods Richardson, who was scratched with an undisclosed injury. Ureña gave up five hits, walked one and struck out three. The 33-year-old right-hander is on his fourth team of the season, having previously appeared in games with the Mets, Blue Jays and Dodgers. Ureña can eat some innings, but isn’t fantasy-relevant at this point of his career even if he remains in the rotation.

Ureña was signed to a minor league contract in June, and now the 33-year-old will have a chance to finish the season with Minnesota. It’s feasible he could make starts for the Twins. It’s hard to imagine him making starts for a respectable fantasy roster.

Ureña heads to his fourth different organization already this season after making nine appearances combined between the Dodgers, Blue Jays and Mets. The 33-year-old journeyman figures to operate in a swingman-type role if he makes it to Minnesota.

The quintessential modern-era journeyman, Ureña has spent time briefly with the Mets, Blue Jays and Dodgers already this season. The well-traveled 33-year-old’s stint with Los Angeles is over after just a pair of relief appearances since June 3. He’ll presumably elect free agency and wind up somewhere else in a swingman-type role.

Ureña heads to Los Angeles as long relief depth for the club’s overworked bullpen, which leads the majors with a staggering 255 innings pitched through 60 games. The 33-year-old journeyman righty has posted a pedestrian 5.87 ERA across 15 1/3 innings (seven appearances, two starts) this season between the Blue Jays and Mets.

Ureña’s time with the Blue Jays is presumably over after posting a respectable 3.65 ERA across 12 1/3 innings (six appearances, two starts). The 33-year-old journeyman righty should pass through waivers unclaimed and will most likely head out to test the free agent waters again.

The 33-year-old right-hander walked one and didn’t record a strikeout in the abbreviated outing. The lone tally against him came on a solo shot off the bat of Dylan Moore to lead off the third inning. Ureña was able to face the Jays’ lineup one time through and then was replaced by Eric Lauer. He sports an unappealing 7.71 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and a 5/3 K/BB ratio over 9 1/3 innings in his first three outings with the Jays.

Ureña made his first start for the Blue Jays and kept the team in the game as he pitched into the fifth inning. He gave up a two-run homer to Taylor Ward in the first and settled in to give Toronto 4 1/3, leaving with one out and one runner on at 74 pitches. He struck out two. The 33-year-old right-hander is currently in line to make a second start for the Blue Jays against the Mariners in Seattle on Sunday.

Tuesday also sets up as an option to use Eric Lauer, who threw 77 pitches last Wednesday. It’s possible that Ureña could serve as an opener for Lauer, but neither one should be in consideration in fantasy leagues.

Uréna, making his Mets debut, came into a 12-0 game in the seventh with the idea that he’d finish it, and he was allowed to do so even after giving up five runs in the eighth. It’s the 10th time since the save became an official statistic in 1969 that a pitcher has allowed at least five runs and earned a save. Cooper Criswell did so for Boston in an 18-7 game earlier this year.

Ureña was in camp earlier this spring as a non-roster invitee, but failed to make New York’s season-opening roster. The 33-year-old journeyman gets the call to the big leagues ahead of Sunday’s showdown against the Nationals with A.J. Minter landing on the shelf with a lat strain.
