It’s too little, too late for Walker, as the Astros were eliminated from contention today. Still, he does have four homers in three games, upping his season line to .238/.298/.421. His OPS is back up to .718, barely lower than his season-high mark of .720. One more good game Sunday and he’d be one of the rare players to finish with his highest OPS of the season on the final day of said season.

Walker opened the scoring in the ballgame with a 408-foot (108.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Kyle Hendricks to start the fourth inning. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. The 34-year-old slugger has had a bit of a disappointing season overall at the dish, slashing .236/.296/.410 with 25 homers, 86 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.

Walker plated a run with a fielder’s choice in the top half of the first inning that increased the Astros’ early edge to 2-0. He then punched a two-out RBI single into right field off of Bradley Basso in the fourth inning that made it 7-0. He then put the cherry on top of the victory for the Astros with a 366-foot (107.4 mph EV) solo shot off of Scott McGough on the first pitch of the eighth inning. The 34-year-old slugger has been swinging a hot bat down the stretch and is now slashing .236/.296/.406 with 24 long balls and 85 RBI on the season.

The Astros are giving their 34-year-old first baseman a breather though he’ll undoubtedly be used off the bench in a key spot at some point during Saturday’s battle against the M’s. Instead the Astros will load their lineup with left-handed bats with Victor Caratini starting at first base and batting fifth against Mariners’ right-hander George Kirby.

Walker smacked a one-out single into center off of Bryce Elder in the second inning then came around to score the game’s first run on an RBI knock off the bat of Yainer Diaz. He then pulverized a 1-2 sinker from Elder for a 431-foot (107.6 mph EV) two-run shot in the third inning that extended the Astros’ early advantage to 6-0.

Walker singled in the first inning and scored on a home run by Victor Caratini. He later took Dietrich Enns deep for a two-run blast in the seventh for his third home run in three days and his 19th blast of the season. Walker opened the scoring in the ballgame and gave the Astros a lead they would never relinquish with his 391-foot (102.9 mph EV) two-run blast off of Brandon Young in the top half of the first inning. The 34-year-old slugger also led off the third inning with a double and scored on an RBI double off the bat of Jesus Sanchez. With his two-hit attack, Walker is now slashing .235/.302/.396 with 17 homers, 67 RBI and just one stolen base in what has been a disappointing first season with the Astros.

Walker got the Astros going in this game with a loud 113.2 mph, 417 foot two-run homer in the first inning off Marlins’ starter Janson Junk. His counting stats have slowly been creeping up towards the respectable range and he has six homers and an .851 OPS over his last 30 games. There’s a good chance he maintains that level of production for the rest of the season, which looks much more like the player we expected him to be heading into the year.

Walker was dropped to sixth in the lineup with the Astros adding Jeremy Peña, Jesús Sánchez and Carlos Correa on Friday, but he was back in the cleanup spot today due to Peña’s absence. Obviously, batting sixth would take away a little of what fantasy value Walker has left. However, a well-timed hot streak — he’s now homered in back-to-back games — could keep him batting fourth.

The Astros’ offense was stymied by the combination of Cooper Criswell and Boston’s bullpen here. Walker’s solo home run in the second inning was the only home run they’d score as they wasted a fantastic start from Hunter Brown. While it’s been a disappointing first season in Houston for Walker, he had an .833 OPS in July and could have a nice hot streak in him to end the season.

Walker struck out three times today, but he doubled and singled in his remaining two at-bats as he finished off his return to Arizona. He went 6-for-14 with two RBI in the series, and he’s 9-for-23 with a homer and five RBI over his last five games. His current .681 OPS, while still quite disappointing, is his high mark of the year.

Walker hit a two-run homer off Ben Casparius, and that was one of five homers the Astros procured in an 18-1 drubbing. The veteran first baseman has now homered 11 times in his first year with the Astros after signing a three-year deal,, and he’s started July on a 10-for-19 tear.

Walker gave the Astros an early 3-0 lead with a two-run shot off Sean Burke in the first inning. He drove in two more runs in the third to extend the lead to 5-0. Walker has been a disaster in 2025 — at least based on expectations — but his previous success with the Diamondbacks makes it fairly likely that he’ll bounce back over the summer.

Walker drove in the Astros’ lone run in Sunday’s 1-0 win and had a big homer Tuesday off Paul Skenes, but the hot streak that seemed to be building up hasn’t really materialized. He’s 3-for-19 with 10 strikeouts in his last six games, pushing him back down to .208/.272/362 for the season.

Walker sat out Thursday’s game as a precautionary measure after getting hit by a pitch on the hand during Wednesday’s game. He’s doing much better after the night off though and will return to his regular post at first base. Walker will bat cleanup against Rays’ right-hander Ryan Pepiot on Friday evening in Houston.

Walker was removed from Wednesday’s game after being hit in the hand by a pitch. Fortunately, X-rays came back negative for any fractures, but he’s still dealing with some soreness and swelling, so he’ll get at least an extra day to rest before returning to action. Victor Caratini will cover first base in his absence on Thursday and will bat cleanup for the Astros against Shane Baz and the Rays.

It’s an encouraging update after Walker was lifted from Wednesday’s series finale against the Athletics a couple innings after being hit on the right hand by a 96 mph fastball. He went 0-for-1 with a run scored before departing the game. The 34-year-old veteran first baseman might need some time off for the pain and swelling to subside, but he appears to have avoided major injury. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Walker was plunked in the right hand and appeared to be in significant pain. He was able to stay in the game initially, but left for pinch-hitter Mauricio Dubon when his spot came back in the lineup. Walker will likely undergo imaging to determine the severity of the injury.

Walker has been swinging the bat better of late. He went yard for the second straight game with a two-run blast in the sixth inning off Michel Otañez. The 34-year-old first baseman is hitting .213/.275/.366 with seven homers and 25 RBI across 222 plate appearances.

He came to the plate in a tie game in the bottom of the ninth inning after Jose Altuve’s leadoff single and crushed a fastball from Casey Legumina to left field for a walkoff home run. It was his sixth homer of the season. It’s still been a rough first two months of the season for Walker, who has a .212 average, .629 OPS and 23 RBI.

Both teams had trouble scoring in Saturday’s duel between Bryan Woo and Framber Valdez. Walker wasn’t credited with an RBI due to a throwing error, but his base hit in the first inning brought Houston’s first run in to score before he crossed the plate on an error for the team’s second run. Walker later added a single in the third for his second hit. The 34-year-old first baseman is hitting .202/.268/.332 with five homers and 20 RBI across 213 plate appearances.

Walker is quietly 20-for-65 (.307) with two home runs and 11 RBI over his last 17 games. Of course, he was hitting .156 with two home runs and four RBI in the first 21 games of the season. Still, it appears the Astros’ big free agent acquisition is finally starting to figure it out at the plate after an injury derailed his spring training and slow start to the season.

Don’t look now, but Walker is finally starting to figure it out. His second inning double set up the Astros’ first run of the game – and the only they’d need – in what was eventually a shutout win. He has a .288/.323/.475 slash line over his last 15 games. That’s more like the Walker we’ve come to know over the years.

Walker got off to a horrendous start to this season after an oblique injury derailed his spring training. It’s not much, but he’s quietly hitting .237 with three home runs and seven RBI over his last 15 games now. Walker is still hitting just .200 with nine RBI and a .623 OPS on the season making him an interesting buy-low option for fantasy managers.

Could Walker finally be heating up? This two-hit effort came one day after a three-hit game. Before that, he had just five hits over his previous nine games with only three other multi-hit games all season. His home run was a welcome sight too, barely clearing the tall left field fence and into the fabled Crawford Boxes at Daikin Park. He practically didn’t have a spring training since he was nursing an oblique injury, so it wouldn’t be crazy for it to have taken nearly a month to get him timing down.
