Cubs signed RHP Kyle Wright to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

Wright, a 20-game winner for the Braves in 2022, hasn’t pitched in the majors since undergoing shoulder surgery in 2023. He made eight starts in the minors for the Royals last season, finishing with a 5.48 ERA and a 21/14 K/BB in 23 innings. His fastball was down about 2.5 mph from his 94.7-mph average in 2022.
