There was speculation Yesavage would make his season debut next week, but that’s not happening. The Blue Jays want to see him continue building up his pitch count and stamina for at least another turn in the upper minors before bringing him back to the big leagues. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect should make it back to Toronto’s rotation by the end of April. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats given his immense strikeout potential.

Yesavage threw 71 pitches in his third rehab start. Blue Jays manager John Schneider said the outing “was everything the Jays expected from a workload and velocity perspective.” He’ll make one more rehab start and could join the Jays in Anaheim next week if the team decides he is ready to go.

On one hand, Yesavage’s fastball velocity was down, sitting 93.3 mph on the day. He also got hit around a little bit and threw just 59 percent of his pitches for strikes. On the other hand, he threw 71 pitches and seemed to come out of the game healthy. Given all the injuries in this Blue Jays rotation, that’s the most important thing. We’d imagine Yesavage gets one more rehab start before possibly joining the Blue Jays rotation.

Yesavage is aiming for roughly 65 pitches over four innings in what could potentially be his final rehab outing before returning to Toronto’s rotation for his season debut. The 22-year-old would be in line to take the ball early next week against the Angels after only missing a couple weeks to open the year due to shoulder inflammation. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues based on last year’s impressive debut.

Yesavage threw 44 pitches in his first rehab outing last Friday and will continue building up his pitch count and stamina before he’s ready to make his season debut at some point later this month. The dynamic 22-year-old top pitching prospect is working his way back from a shoulder issue that delayed his ram-ip process.

The one run came on an inside-the-park homer. Yesavage struck out three and threw 44 pitches. We’ll have to wait and see when his second start will come, as the Jays haven’t been having him work with a typical rest pattern yet this year.

He’ll go about three innings, give or take. Assuming no setbacks, we should expect to see Yesavage activated off the injured list in mid- or late-April. He remains a high-upside hold in fantasy leagues for the time being.

Yesavage is aiming for roughly 45 pitches as he continues to progress towards his season debut after being slowed by shoulder inflammation during spring training. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect will require at least a brief minor league tune-up before he rejoins Toronto’s injury-marred rotation, which looked outstanding during their season-opening series against the Athletics. Yesavage offers sky-high strikeout upside and projects as one of the most impactful young arms in the game from a fantasy perspective.

Yesavage will presumably head to Triple-A Buffalo for a handful of minor league rehab outings to continue building up his pitch count and stamina before returning to Toronto’s rotation at some point in April. The 22-year-old strikeout artist is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and coming off an impressive late-season showing with the Blue Jays last year.

The Blue Jays are taking every possible precaution while building up the 22-year-old hurler as he has battled a shoulder impingement this spring. He’s going to require a lengthy ramp up and the team has yet to give any sort of timeline on when he may be able to join the Jays’ rotation.

Yesavage’s build up has been slow all offseason, and this helps explain why. He arrived to camp with the injury, per Schneider. He’s not slated to stop throwing, so it’s possible this is just a minor delay for Yesavage’s 2026 season. He’ll throw off a mound again next week. Eric Lauer will likely take Yesavage’s rotation spot in the early season.

The Blue Jays have been cautious with his workload this spring after a deep playoff run last year. Yesavage threw 35 pitches in his last outing, so the Blue Jays will want him to bump up from that so that he could potentially be up to 60 pitches by the end of spring training. He still has not appeared in an MLB spring training game, so it remains to be seen what the Blue Jays’ plan for him is at the start of the season, especially now with José Berrios potentially beginning the season on the IL.

Yesavage has not yet pitched in an MLB game this spring, and there is no guarantee he will. The Blue Jays want him to make two more “starts” after this Wednesday outing, but they will not commit to them in an MLB spring training game. After the Blue Jays signed Dylan Cease, Cody Ponce, and Max Scherzer, there aren’t enough rotation spots for Yesavage. The organization has also made it clear that they will be cautious with the 22-year-old’s innings this season, coming off a World Series run last year. That likely means Yesavage will not be a regular starter for Toronto early in the season, which makes it really hard to draft him where he is currently going in redraft leagues.

The 29-year-old hurler didn’t walk a batter or record a strikeout in the ballgame. The only hit that he allowed in the contest came on a leadoff double by Luis Campusano to open the third inning. Supak did not get a single swing and miss in 40 pitches on the day, registering a miserable CSW of only 20 percent. Supak has already been optioned out of big league camp and is expected to open the season in the rotation at Triple-A Round Rock.

The Jays have been monitoring his workload closely this spring and it sounds like they’ll continue to do so throughout the season. They have yet to make a decision on when his next outing will come and whether it’ll be a live batting practice session, a minor league game or if he’ll see action in a Grapefruit League affair. It’s possible they’re just being extremely cautious with the 22-year-old hurler, but until we see him back on a big league mound fantasy managers have the right to be concerned.

Schneider added that Yesavage could be limited to three or four innings per-start at the outset of the regular season as part of a deliberate ramp-up process. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect accumulated 139 2/3 innings last year in his professional debut across five levels, including the postseason, after topping out at just 93 1/3 in his final collegiate campaign. The Blue Jays are clearly prioritizing his late-season availability, which means fantasy managers should expect some abbreviated April outings. It seems highly unlikely he’ll eclipse the 150-inning mark, which relatively few starters are anyways these days.

The Blue Jays are not concerned about any injury, but Schneider mentioned that the team is aware that Yesavage is coming off perhaps the shortest offseason possible after the Blue Jays’ World Series run. The 22-year-old is “on a little bit of a different ramp up” and will “probably throw another live [bullpen] even before games.” However, Schneider also mentioned that the team is going to monitor Yesavage’s workload during the season as well. “There are probably going to be some times where you have to hone him in a little bit, and if you can maneuver the rotation a little bit, yeah.” After Yesavagae threw 139 2/3 innings last season, it’s probably smart to assume he finishes 2026 around the 150-160 mark.

Supak was a second-round pick in the 2014 MLB Draft and has yet to reach the big leagues. The 29-year-old hurler posted a solid 3.85 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 131/33 K/BB ratio over 128 1/3 innings over 26 starts between Double-A Friso and Triple-A Round Rock this past season. He’s merely organizational fodder at this stage of his career.

It’ll be all-hands-on-deck for the Blue Jays behind Game 7 starter Max Scherzer on Saturday evening at the Rogers Centre as they attempt to bring a World Series title back to Toronto for the first time since 1993. The 22-year-old rookie phenom has been a game-changer this postseason with a sparkling 3.46 ERA and 39/10 K/BB ratio across 26 innings over five playoff starts. He struck out 12 and allowed one run over seven innings during Wednesday’s Game 5 victory. This would be his normal bullpen day between starts, so he figures to be available in some capacity after throwing 104 pitches earlier this week. He’ll be one of the most popular pitching targets for fantasy managers in drafts next spring.

Spectacular. Yesavage threw 71-of-104 pitches for strikes; his first time reaching triple digits in pitches as a professional. He generated 23 swings and misses in that time, and that’s a World Series record in the Statcast era. The 12 strikeouts are the most by a rookie in the World Series. So on and so forth. Outside of one hanger to Enrique Hernández, Yesavage was basically flawless and escaped the few mini-jams he faced without issue. The 22-year-old has the Blue Jays a win away from their first title since 1993, and he could be an option out of the bullpen for Game 7, if necessary. If this is it, make sure you are ready to draft Yesavage (relatively) early in 2026. Game 6 will take place Friday in Toronto, and a win for the Blue Jays clinches their first world championship since 1993.

Toronto manager John Schneider will hand the ball to Yesavage for a potential elimination game later this week at Dodger Stadium depending on the outcome of Game 4. The dynamic 22-year-old pitching prospect has been a revelation this postseason with a 4.26 ERA and 27/10 K/BB ratio across 19 innings over four starts this postseason. He allowed two runs over four innings last week during Toronto’s Game 1 victory back at the Rogers Centre. An interesting wrinkle: he’s been more effective at home than on the road, where opposing teams can use pregame pitching machines to better simulate his unique release point.

Yesavage struck out five while throwing 44-of-80 pitches for strikes, and he walked three. He generated 14 swings and misses, but his poor command allowed run-scoring singles in the first and second inning. Yesavage will almost assuredly get the start in Game 5 — if necessary — against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Kevin Gausman started the previous two Game 1s for the Blue Jays, but after he worked in relief in Game 7, he’ll get an extra day here (we’re assuming... the Game 2 starter hasn’t been officially announced). Yesavage has a 2-1 record and a 4.20 ERA in his three postseason starts. This will be his first MLB start on four days’ rest.

Yesavage struck out seven, but things got shaky as the night went along. Fortunately, he was able to record double-play balls to conclude the third, fourth and fifth innings. The first two of those came with the bases loaded, too. Oddly enough, he didn’t have a single double play in his previous five major league starts (three in the regular season, two in the postseason). Yesavage improved to 2-1 with a 4.20 ERA in October.

It had been anticipated that Yesavage would be available out of the Blue Jays’ bullpen for Game 5 on Friday — and that could still wind up being the case — but he’s penciled in for Sunday. All that’s left to determine now is whether that game will be for the Jays to have a shot at punching their ticket to the World Series, or if they’ll have their backs up against the wall and looking to stave off elimination. Kevin Gausman will toe the slab in a critical Game 5 on Friday.

Yesavage somehow managed to keep Toronto in the ballgame after a rocky 33-pitch opening frame where he served up a three-run homer to Mariners superstar Julio Rodríguez. The 22-year-old rookie sensation wasn’t particularly sharp as he notched only four strikeouts and handed out three free passes. The Blue Jays stuck with him even as he experienced declining fastball velocity into the middle innings. He was finally lifted after 70 pitches in the fifth and was ultimately charged with two additional runs after reliever Louis Varland coughed up a go-ahead blast to Jorge Polanco. It seems likely the Blue Jsys will try to save him for the later stages of the series, but it’s easy to envision Yesavage pitching in relief in a must-win scenario for Toronto after dropping the first two games of the best-of-seven series.

That’s not official, but it’s the way things are lined up. Schneider also did admit today that was lying about having Yesavage available in Game 4 against the Yankees. Yesavage never did warm up in the game, which suggested that the statement about him being available in relief was pure deception.

Yesavage was sensational in Game 2 against the Yankees, and the 22-year-old will be a possible multi-inning option for Toronto with a chance to clinch a spot in the ALCS against the Mariners or Tigers. If he isn’t used, Yesavage could very well start either Game 5 of this series or the first game of that next round.

The 22-year-old rookie right-hander didn’t show any signs of nerves in this one, posting perhaps the most dominant postseason start in Blue Jays franchise history, which is saying something. The only baserunners against him came as Aaron Judge worked a four-pitch walk in the opening inning and Jazz Chisholm Jr. reached on a one-out error in the fifth. That’s it. Yesavage struck out the side in the first, third and fourth innings. He generated a whopping 18 swings and misses on 78 pitches on the day — 11 of them on his splitter — while registering an other-worldly CSW of 45 percent. The Jays phenom could be available out of the bullpen in Game 5 if the Yankees can find a way to hold serve at home, otherwise the next time that we see him would come against either the Tigers or Mariners in the ALCS.
