Since the end of the season, Bido has been with the Athletics, Braves, Rays, Marlins, and Angels. We’ll see if it sticks this time. The 30-year-old has flashed some intriguing skills at times and could try to win a spot in the Angels’ rotation out of spring training, but we’d consider him a long shot.

It’s a surprise that Sandlin couldn’t find an MLB deal. The 29-year-old had a 2.20 ERA in 16 1/3 innings for the Blue Jays last year and has a career 3.19 ERA in 211 2/3 innings out of the bullpen since debuting in 2021. He’s a good bet to make the Angels’ bullpen.

Mancini was in the Diamondbacks organization last season and hit .308/.373/.522 with 16 homers in 335 plate appearances over 75 games. When the Diamondbacks didn’t give him any MLB at-bats, he opted out of his contract on July 1st. Production like that could net him some opportunities with the Angels, but the 33-year-old has not had an MLB at-bat since hitting .234/.299/.336 with four home runs in 79 games for the Cubs in 2023.

Burke was then flipped from the Rays to the Reds for infielder Gavin Lux. Lowe has flashed dynamic ability over four seasons with the Rays but has struggled to keep himself off the injured list. The 27-year-old outfielder should be the Angels’ regular centerfielder against right-handed pitching at a minimum and he still possesses the tantalizing fantasy upside that led to a 20-homer, 32-steal campaign in 2023.

Castro fortifies Los Angeles’ bullpen depth after making just six relief appearances for the White Sox this past season. The well-traveled 31-year-old veteran has made 425 appearances in the majors between the Blue Jays, Rockies, Orioles, Mets, Yankees, Diamondbacks and White Sox dating back to 2015.

Madrigal’s career has been derailed by physical issues the past few years as he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury during spring training while in Mets camp. The 28-year-old former top prospect was limited to just 51 games for the Cubs back in 2024 due to a fractured finger. He’s a decent low-risk depth addition for the Angels and it wouldn’t be shocking if he made their season-opening roster out of camp. He doesn’t offer enough power or speed potential to merit consideration for fantasy purposes even if he were to carve out a significant role with Los Angeles next season.

Anderson returns to Los Angeles’ relief corps after making seven appearances this past season, which resulted in a bloated 8.87 FIP and 11/3 K/BB ratio over 11 1/3 innings. The 31-year-old journeyman has made 76 appearances in the big leagues dating back to 2019. He’s merely emergency organizational depth at this stage of his career.

Rendon would have gotten all that money this year in the final season of a seven-year, $245 million contract, but that would have meant going through the motions of trying a comeback from hip surgery. Instead, now, he won’t be under any obligations with the team. He remains on the 40-man roster, and he’ll be placed on the 60-day IL once spring training starts.

The Angels could have non-tendered Adell a year ago, but they’re glad they didn’t after he busted out with 37 homers and 98 RBI during a season in which he hit .236/.293/.485. The 26-year-old currently has two seasons to go before free agency.

Two years before his major league debut, Soriano collected a year of service time as an injured Rule 5 pick in 2021, making him arbitration eligible now. The 27-year-old had a 4.26 ERA in 31 starts for the Angels last season. He’d seem to offer considerably more upside with his ability to miss bats and generate grounders, but his situation in Anaheim has held him back somewhat.

Burke did a nice job in his first full season with the Angels, picking up seven wins and 15 holds while amassing a 3.36 ERA in relief. This will be his final season before he becomes eligible for free agency at age 30.

The 25-year-old battled through injuries in 2025 and failed to repeat his solid 2024 season. He did hit 19 home runs in 119 games, but also slashed .213/.258/.371. O’Hoppe seems likely to settle in as a 25 home run bat, so if he can go back to hitting around .240, he would be a real asset as a catcher in fantasy leagues.

Neto got off to a late start to the season due to injury and then ended the year with a hand strain; however, he was tremendous when he was healthy. He hit a career-high 26 home runs and swiped 26 bases while slashing .257/.319/.474 in 128 games. The 24-year-old will be one of the top fantasy baseball options at shortstop if he comes into spring training healthy.

Meckler spent most of last season at Triple-A Sacramento, hitting .287/.390/.370. He’s a left-handed hitter who can play all three outfield positions and still has minor league options. That will make him valuable outfield depth for the Angels.

The contract, which was agreed to a week ago, is reportedly worth $5 million. Despite a 5.23 ERA last season with the Dodgers, Yates becomes the favorite to close for the Angels, though Robert Stephenson or Jordan Romano could wind up pushing him at some point. Yates still had a 29% strikeout rate last season, and his velocity was down only about one mph from his peak. He could turn out to be a fair enough fantasy closer if he can stay healthy at 39. Of course, if he does perform well, he’d seem like a prime candidate to be moved in a deadline deal.

The 32-year-old southpaw was non-tendered by the Mariners back in November after registering a troublesome 7.43 ERA, 1.88 WHIP and a 12/6 K/BB ratio over 13 1/3 innings in 10 appearances with the M’s. With a strong showing in Cactus League play, he could crack the Halos’ Opening Day bullpen in a middle relief role.

Rendon, coming off hip surgery, was due $38 million in the final season of a seven-year, $245 million contract. The buyout figures to allow him to collect all that money over a longer period of time, and in return, Rendon won’t have to show up to spring training for rehab and pretend that he wants to play. Rendon will finish his Angels tenure with a .242/.348/.369 line in 257 games played.

Walton got into a pair of games for the Phillies this past season, going 1-for-8 with one RBI across nine plate appearances. He spent most of the year at the Triple-A level, hitting .270/.356/.396 with 13 homers and four steals in 123 games. The well-traveled 31-year-old infielder has gotten into 72 games at the highest level between the Mariners, Giants and Phillies since 2019. He’ll bolster Los Angeles’ infield depth heading into spring training.

Lugo is 12-for-44 with one homer and 10 walks. After a breakthrough 2024 in the Red Sox system, he spent most of last season in Triple-A for the Angels, hitting a disappointing .262/.320/.443 at Sale Lake. Since he’s quite versatile, he still might prove to be a nice 26th man in the majors, but he’ll probably head back to Triple-A to open 2026.

The deal is now official. Romano heads to Los Angeles as a potential closer alternative in case hard-throwing youngster Ben Joyce isn’t ready to roll after missing nearly all of last season with a shoulder ailment. He’ll be in the mix for high-leverage opportunities with Robert Stephenson and Drew Pomeranz at the outset of the year. The 32-year-old former Blue Jays stopper fell apart last season in his Phillies debut, posting a calamitous 8.23 ERA — 5.39 FIP — and 47/17 K/BB ratio across 42 2/3 innings over 49 appearances. He’s a worthwhile low-risk gamble for the Angels in the event that he’s able to rediscover his previously elite form. He can be left on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues heading into next season.

Pomeranz will be in the mix for high-leverage innings with the Angels alongside Robert Stephenson, Jordan Romano and Ben Joyce (shoulder). He’ll vulture the occasional matchup-dependent save but is unlikely to emerge as Los Angeles’ primary stopper. The 37-year-old southpaw was an unexpected revelation for the Cubs this past season, registering a sparkling 2.17 ERA — 3.36 FIP — and 57/15 K/BB ratio across 49 2/3 innings over 57 appearances, during his first stint back in the majors since 2021.

Sánchez hasn’t resurfaced in the majors since the 2022 campaign and is merely emergency organizational depth at the Triple-A level entering his age-33 season. He batted .246/.357/.329 with four homers and nine steals in 120 games for Triple-A Salt Lake this past season.

Perdomo represents a worthwhile low-risk flyer for the Angels after making four relief appearances this past season for the division-rival Athletics. The hard-throwing 31-year-old lefty has compiled a robust 34.2 percent strikeout rate across 52 innings over 56 career appearances in the big leagues since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

The Red Sox thought Grissom could be their long-term second baseman when they acquired him from the Braves for Chris Sale prior to the 2024 campaign, but he was often hurt and hit just .190 in 31 major league games during his two-year stint with the club. He’ll get a fresh start with the Angels, who have openings at second base and third base at the moment. If he makes the team, it could be at second, with top prospect Christian Moore moving to third or heading to Triple-A. If not, he’ll likely go on waivers, since he’s out of options.

Fellow youngsters Kyren Paris and Denzer Guzman are also working out in preparation of playing some third base. Moore, the eighth overall pick in the 2024 draft, has thus far only played second base as a pro. He isn’t guaranteed to open 2026 in the majors, but he did hit the ball harder as a rookie than his .198/.284/.370 line suggests.

The deal is now official. The Angels are rolling the metaphorical dice on the former Cy Young Award contender after he was non-tendered last month by the Braves. The 27-year-old’s fastball velocity and control never rebounded in 10 minor-league starts during his return from Tommy John surgery this past season and the Blue Jays ultimately cut ties with him on the eve of the postseason. It’s difficult to envision a realistic path back to fantasy relevance in Los Angeles, but he’ll likely open the year in their rotation and qualifies as a low-risk lottery ticket. Maybe the velocity never comes back. Maybe the command never stabilizes. Maybe the Angels are just the latest team hoping the laws of baseball physics bend for one more improbable resurrection.

Campero returns a week after being non-tendered. He’s hit .202/.272/.346 in 114 plate appearances for the Angels over the last two seasons, and even if he were to step up some offensively, his defense isn’t good enough to make him a quality reserve outfielder. On the other hand, the fact that he’s a capable third catcher is nice.

Rendon is due $38 million in the final season of a seven-year, $245 million contract that is on the very short list of the most ill-fated deals of all-time. The first six seasons saw him play in a total of 257 games, and he missed all of 2025 after hip surgery. Rendon, 35, is actually just a one-time All-Star, though he had three top-six NL MVP finishes during his time with the Nationals. It’s hard to remember now, but he also finished 10th in the AL MVP balloting in his initial year with the Angels, when he hit .286/.418/.491 during the shortened 2020 season. He’s since batted .231/.329/.336 with 13 homers in 863 plate appearances.

The 27-year-old right-hander was cut loose by the Twins last April after posting a 10.38 ERA and 2.54 WHIP over 4 1/3 innings at Triple-A St. Paul before finishing the season in the Mexican League. Ynoa hasn’t been the same pitcher since undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2022, but perhaps the Angels can find a way to unlock his former potential.
