The deal is now official. Rojas returns as an extremely important utility specialist for the back-to-back World Series champions after playing a starring role during the most recent Fall Classic. The 36-year-old veteran gives Los Angeles a decent fallback option at second base and figures to play all over the infield next season. He can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats at this advanced stage of his career.

Hernández wouldn’t seem to be in great demand after performing as just a league-average hitter in the first year of a three-year, $66 million deal, but since that contract included a $23 million signing bonus, it’s pretty friendly going forward; he’s owed $33 million for two years or $41.5 million for three, with $16 million of that being deferred for six years. He wouldn’t be a bad pickup at that price, especially for a team that could give him some DH time. Still, it seems likely that the Dodgers will keep him unless they add a big name to their outfield.

Ohtani announced on Instagram that he’ll represent Japan again in next March’s international showcase. The 31-year-old generational superstar helped deliver Japan the 2023 World Baseball Classic title, punctuating it with one of the defining moments of his career when he struck out Mike Trout to end the tournament. It’s unclear whether he’ll take the mound this time around, but his mere presence makes the event mandatory viewing — the kind of gravitational sports moment you rearrange your schedule around without thinking twice.

Stone appears on track for a normal spring ramp up after missing last season while recovering from shoulder surgery. The track record is a bit checkered for pitchers coming off major shoulder procedures so fantasy managers should keep an eye on his velocity and command during Cactus League exhibition outings. He’ll presumably be in the mix for a swingman-type role with the Dodgers, if his stuff bounces back to pre-surgery levels.

Ryan will be roughly 18 months removed from Tommy John surgery by next spring and shouldn’t have any limitations at the outset of camp. The 27-year-old righty recorded a sparkling 1.33 ERA over 20 1/3 innings over four starts when he broke into the majors back in 2024. He’ll likely open next season in the minors to focus on building up his stamina and workload but should factor into the Dodgers’ pitching mix at some point.

Gough, a 2022 ninth-round pick, had a 4.33 ERA and a 99/47 K/BB in 95 2/3 innings as a starter in low-A ball in 2024 before missing last season after Tommy John. Maybe the Dodgers know something here, but it mostly seems like they decided they didn’t want Ortiz occupying a spot on their 40-man after all.

The 26-year-old backstop spent his first eight minor league seasons in the Tigers’ organization. In 2025, he slashed .247/.297/.322 with one homer and 34 RBI in 250 plate appearances between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo. He’ll add additional catching depth in the upper minors for the Dodgers.

Ohtani captures MVP honors in unanimous fashion for the fourth time in five years after another otherworldly two-way campaign with the World Series champion Dodgers. The 31-year-old generational talent launched 55 homers and recorded a 2.87 ERA across 47 innings over 14 starts in his return to the mound. He’s taken home back-to-back MVP Awards on the senior circuit since arriving in Los Angeles. Ohtani received all 30 first-place votes, finishing ahead of Kyle Schwarber — who netted 23 of 30 second-place votes — and Juan Soto in this year’s NL MVP Award balloting.

Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes said Edman is expected to be ready around the start of spring training. The versatile 30-year-old dealt with recurring ankle issues throughout last season that led to a pair of injured list stints and kept him out of center field during the postseason. Fantasy managers will hope the offseason procedure finally puts the lingering problem to rest and jump-starts a rebound in the stolen base department next year.

The American League winners will be announced on Friday night. Here is the complete list of winners for the senior circuit: Hunter Goodman (C), Pete Alonso (1B), Ketel Marte (2B), Manny Machado (3B), Geraldo Perdomo (SS), Juan Soto (OF), Corbin Carroll (OF), Kyle Tucker (OF), Ohtani (DH) and Alec Burleson (UTIL). Ohtani has claimed the award in back-to-back seasons since joining the Dodgers and four times overall in his career. Soto takes home the honor in his Mets debut, giving him six in eight seasons. At this rate, he might need an entire room just to display them all by the time his 15-year megadeal is through. Alonso, Perdomo, Goodman, Carroll and Burleson are all first-time winners.

Ortiz has been added to Los Angeles’ 40-man roster to protect him from next month’s Rule 5 Draft. The 25-year-old lefty wrapped up this past season with a strong 2.73 ERA and 72/33 K/BB ratio across 59 1/3 innings over 48 appearances over three minor-league levels to finish the year on the doorstep of the big leagues.

Gonsolin is expected to miss a significant portion of next season after undergoing an internal brace procedure on his right elbow back in early August. The 31-year-old right-hander was a key component of the Dodgers’ pitching staff from 2019-2023 when he compiled a strong 3.19 RA across 375 2/3 innings over 79 appearances (71 starts). He’s been limited to just seven starts over the past two seasons due to a pair of elbow surgeries. He would represent a low-risk gamble for another organization at this stage of his career.

Ward was one of the PCL’s best hitters last season, coming in at .290/.380/.557 with 36 homers and 122 RBI for the Comets, and some wanted the Dodgers to give him a chance in Michael Conforto’s place. That left field spot is open now, but the Dodgers figure to go shopping rather than rely on their internal options. Ward’s best hope of getting a shot is probably still a trade.

Muncy let the Dodgers tack this option on to his two-year, $24 million deal even though it’s a cut in pay and didn’t include a buyout. Still, he’s always seemed just happy to be there. The 35-year-old hit .243/.376/.470 in 100 games last season.

Ohtani represents the overwhelming favorite to capture MVP honors for the fourth time in five years after another otherworldly two-way campaign for the World Series champion Dodgers, launching 55 home runs and posting a 2.87 ERA across 47 innings over 14 starts in his return to the mound. Schwarber did everything possible to make this a close race, blasting a career-high 56 homers and driving in 132 runs during his age-32 season with the Phillies before hitting free agency. Soto capped his first year with the Mets by leading the majors in walks (127) and on-base percentage (.396) while also setting career highs with 43 homers and 38 stolen bases. The winner will be announced on Thursday, November 13.

To say that Yamamoto was well-deserving of the honor would be a massive understatement. The 27-year-old hurler fired a 105-pitch complete game masterpiece against the Jays in Game 2, earning a much-needed victory that evened the Series at one game apiece. He then took the hill with the Dodgers’ backs up against the wall in Game 6 on Friday and earned another victory — surrendering just one run over six stellar frames. He then got the final eight outs in Game 7 on Saturday night on zero days rest, twice pitching his way out of jams with runners on third base and less than two outs without allowing a single run. He was the best player in what may go down as the greatest World Series in the history of the sport.

To say Yamamoto was deserving of the honor would be a massive understatement. The 27-year-old ace authored a 105-pitch complete-game masterpiece in Game 2 against Toronto, earning a crucial win that evened the best-of-seven series. He returned to the mound in Game 6 with the Dodgers facing elimination and delivered again, allowing just one run over six strong innings. Then, on zero days’ rest, Yamamoto recorded the final eight outs in Game 7 — twice pitching out of jams with a runner on third and less than two outs without surrendering a run. His legendary workhorse performance — throwing caution to the wind with a championship on the line — stands out even more in an era when pitchers’ workloads are so carefully managed He was the defining force in what will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the greatest World Series ever played.

It looked as though the Dodgers would go quietly in the 11th inning after Miguel Rojas grounded out to third base and Shohei Ohtani bounced out to second. That’s when the 30-year-old backstop gave the Dodgers their first lead of the night, clobbering a 2-0 slider from Shane Bieber for a 366-foot (104.6 mph EV) solo shot that will be remembered forever in Los Angeles. Smith finished the night 2-for-6 with a pair of runs scored and concludes the postseason slashing .276/.364/.414 with a pair of homers and eight RBI.

Muncy drew a walk off of Max Scherzer in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth, but the Dodgers were unable to cash him in either time. He then tagged right-hander Trey Yesavage for a 373-foot (102.2 mph EV) solo shot in the eighth inning that pulled the Dodgers to within a run at 4-3. Muncy also singled in the 10th inning to put two men on with one out, but the Dodgers were unable to push a run across. Despite throwing 96 pitches during a victory over the Blue Jays in a must-win game on Friday night, Yamamoto told manager Dave Roberts before the game that he was ready and available out of the bullpen if needed. They called his name with two men on and one out during a tied game in the ninth inning. He plunked Alejandro Kirk to load the bases before getting Daulton Varsho to bounce into a fielder’s choice that cut down the potential winning run at the plate. He then retired Ernie Clement on a fly ball into the gap in left center that required a crazy running catch by Andy Pages. Yamamoto then returned to work scoreless frames in the 10th and 11th innings — getting Alejandro Kirk to bounce into a season-ending double play with the tying run on third base in the 11th. An absolutely Herculean effort by Yamamoto. He finishes the postseason with a stellar 1.45 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and a 33/6 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings, earning five victories.

Despite throwing 96 pitches in a must-win victory over the Blue Jays on Friday night, Yamamoto told manager Dave Roberts before Game 7 that he was ready — and available — out of the bullpen if needed. Roberts called his name with two men on and one out in a tie game in the ninth. After plunking Alejandro Kirk to load the bases, Yamamoto induced Daulton Varsho to bounce into a fielder’s choice that cut down the potential winning run at the plate, then escaped the inning when Ernie Clement’s drive into the left-center gap was tracked down by Andy Pages on a sensational running catch. Yamamoto wasn’t done. He came back out to fire scoreless frames in the 10th and 11th innings, sealing the title by getting Kirk to roll into a season-ending double play with the tying run on third in the 11th. An absolutely herculean effort from Yamamoto, who finished the postseason with a dominant 1.45 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and a 33/6 K/BB ratio over 36 2/3 innings — earning five victories and a permanent place in Dodgers lore.

Glasnow needed just three pitches to record a save during Friday night’s battle and the expectation is that he was going to be available out of the Dodgers’ bullpen for multiple innings if needed on Saturday. How this side issue changes that plan is unknown at the moment. It’ll be another wrinkle to work through during a do-or-die Game 7 for the World Series title on Saturday evening in Toronto.

The 22-year-old spent most of his collegiate career behind the dish before transitioning to the mound during his final season at UC Santa Barbara. He posted a 2.70 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 5/3 K/BB ratio over 3 1/3 innings during his two appearances on the mound. He’s a highly intriguing arm, but will need to log plenty of minor league innings on the mound before he’s an option to help out the Dodgers.
