The Hawks will be without their most productive fantasy option when they face the reigning champs on Monday. Johnson’s absence opens a massive hole in Atlanta’s rotation, especially with Kristaps Porziņǵis (illness) also out. Vit Krejčí should figure more prominently in the rotation, and there should also be more minutes available to Mouhamed Gueye. Krejčí is worth a look for those needing three-point production.

The Bulls saw their five-game win streak snapped as they shot just 41.9 percent (39-of-93) from the floor and scored just 103 points, their lowest total since December 7. Since scoring eight points in a November 25 loss to the Wizards, Alexander-Walker has failed to score in double figures just once. His performance against the Knicks was among the best, with the reserve guard recording his fourth 20-point game in his last six appearances. Alexander-Walker has only been an 11th-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks, but he’s worth holding onto in some 12-team leagues.

Finishing one rebound shy of a triple-double is becoming a habit for Johnson, who did so for a third consecutive game on Saturday. While the Hawks have now lost six straight games, the good news for fantasy managers is that the return of Trae Young (nine points, 10 assists and two steals) has not negatively affected Johnson’s fantasy value. Over the past two weeks, the Hawks’ forward has been a top-10 player in eight-cat formats.

Okongwu put on a show on Saturday, finishing one point shy of his season-high while shooting 6-of-10 from beyond the arc. The Hawks’ current starting center finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line, and one of the turning points was when Okongwu fouled out with 29.6 seconds remaining. As long as the Hawks remain without Kristaps Porziņģis, it will be Okongwu’s show in the middle. Those who have him rostered can either command a sky-high price via trade or hold onto him. The latter approach may be better, especially with the Hawks playing four games in Week 11.

White saved his best stuff for the fourth quarter, scoring nine of his points in the final frame to help Chicago complete a comeback win. He didn’t do much as a scorer in the other three quarters, but he contributed as a rebounder and facilitator throughout. Surely, White is capable of more productive games from a fantasy basketball standpoint, but perhaps his strong fourth-quarter showing will carry some momentum into Saturday’s game against the Bucks.

Jones was one of several Bulls reserve players to contribute in a meaningful way on Friday. He came off the bench and tied a team-high in points, which included seven big fourth-quarter points to help the Bulls complete a come-from-behind win. While inefficient shooting led Giddey to an unspectacular scoring performance on Friday, the fifth-year guard delivered as a facilitator. He led all players in assists and found his way to a third straight double-double. The effort was enough to extend the Bulls’ winning streak to five games, the second time this season they’ve achieved such a streak. Giddey is nearly averaging a 20-point triple-double on the season and continues to function as the team’s most versatile offensive weapon.

The good news for Okongwu managers is that the rebounds and assists were there. Unfortunately, the field-goal percentage took a beating with his 5-of-16 night against the Heat. The issue for Okongwu was three-point shooting, as he missed all five of his attempts. Through 11 games in December, he’s shot 15-of-59 from deep, which works out to 25.4 percent. With Okongwu attempting nearly 42 percent of his shots from beyond the arc, a cold spell will significantly impact his overall shooting percentage.

Johnson finished one rebound shy of a triple-double for the second straight game, leaving his total at six on the season. The good news for those who have the Hawks forward rostered is that Trae Young’s return from a knee injury has not negatively affected Johnson’s fantasy value. Over the last week, he has ranked third in eight-cat formats, even higher than his season-long value. Johnson’s sell-high window slammed shut long ago; if you have him, hold onto the forward and continue to reap the rewards.

Young has scored at least 30 points in two of the four games he’s played since returning from a knee injury, so fantasy managers have to be pleased with the output. Unfortunately, the Hawks dropped to 0-4 with Friday’s defeat, which will likely prompt some to make (lazy) assumptions about Young’s impact. And while he was responsible for four turnovers, Young’s assist-to-turnover ratio (40 assists, 10 turnovers) has been excellent since returning to action. He did not play the second game of Atlanta’s most recent back-to-back, so Young should be considered questionable for Saturday’s game against the Knicks.

Through three games since returning from an MCL sprain, Young has played 20, 26 and 31 minutes. His season high for minutes allowed him to have his second-most assists in a game this season, with the most coming in his final game before injuring his knee. He had 17 assists in that game, which was also against Chicago. Young is getting closer to playing a full workload consistently, and the most impressive part is that he has a total of six turnovers since returning. Last season, he averaged 4.7 per game. It seems unlikely that he’ll continue to keep the turnovers in check, but if he can at least keep them down, he’ll become far more valuable in category formats.

Johnson fell one rebound shy of a triple-double just two days after finishing one assist shy of one. Both were also one-possession losses to the Bulls. Even with Trae Young (knee) back, Johnson continues to stuff the stat sheet and be one of the best players in fantasy basketball. In the three games Trae has played since returning, Johnson is averaging 34.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists per game. Here’s an oversimplification: Defense was optional in a back-and-forth shootout that ended as the season’s highest-scoring game. Buzelis was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including four three-pointers, to finish the first half with a team-leading 14 points as both teams shot over 55 percent from the floor and scored a staggering 156 points combined. The 21-year-old playmaker knocked down a season-high seven three-pointers overall and eclipsed the 20-point mark for the second consecutive contest. He made just one of two free throws in the final seconds of regulation with Chicago leading by just a single point at the time, giving the Hawks a chance to tie or take the lead on the final possession. He remains a work in progress overall, but the significant scoring upside keeps him relevant in all fantasy formats until further notice. Young showed few signs of rust in just his second game back since October 29 due to a knee injury, heating up down the home stretch of a high-scoring slugfest.
