George will get another night off, and he’ll look to recover during the All-Star break. Even if he comes back from the break healthy, George is a candidate to miss games down the stretch as the Jazz look to secure a more favorable pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Isaiah Collier has shined with George out, so fantasy managers should continue to deploy him until further notice.

Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is out for the season, and the Jazz were already sitting their stars in the fourth quarter. It was only a matter of time before Markkanen started missing games, and Thursday’s matchup with Portland surely won’t be the last of the 2025-26 campaign. Kyle Filipowski should be in line for big minutes tonight, and he’s worth streaming for the small, three-game slate.

The news come out of left field, and Haynes notes that JJJ underwent surgery after a localized PVNS growth was discovered post trade. Fantasy managers should have already planned for him to miss fourth quarters, but now he’ll be totally unavailable. With Jackson Jr. sidelined and Utah already in active tank mode, it won’t be long before other starters begin to get shut down. “Silly season” heroes will emerge from this rotation, and some of the best are Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh, Isaiah Collier and Vince Williams Jr.

Starting for the injured Keyonte George, Collier put together another high-assist effort in Utah’s blowout of the Kings. He’s recorded at least nine assists in five straight games, hitting double digits in four. Regardless of George’s availability, Collier will be worth rostering for the silly season, especially after the Jazz traded Walter Clayton Jr. to the Grizzlies as part of the Jaren Jackson Jr. deal.

After totaling 18 points on 5-of-19 shooting in Utah’s prior two games, Sensabaugh dropped an efficient 19 points on Wednesday. He played 24 minutes against the Kings, and depending on how the Jazz handle Lauri Markkanen’s workload, that could increase after the All-Star break. Given what he can do in his current role, Sensabaugh is a player worth rostering during the silly season.

Markkanen has not exceeded 27 minutes since a February 1 loss to the Raptors, when he played 39, and he was on the floor for 21 minutes on Wednesday. Of course, his playing time on Wednesday was influenced by the game being a blowout, but the recent decrease in playing time lowers Markkanen’s fantasy ceiling. Twenty-five minutes of Markkanen is better than 30-plus minutes of many other forwards in fantasy basketball, but Utah’s focus on the draft lottery has done managers no favors.

One way to ensure that your team isn’t the focus of any tanking complaints is to blow the doors off your opponent as soon as possible. That’s what Jackson and the Jazz did on Wednesday, outscoring Sacramento 39-20 in the first quarter. He recorded a complete stat line in 22 minutes of play, and this feels like a case in which fantasy managers will be lucky to get 28-30 minutes out of Trip again this season. The Jazz end the pre-break portion of their schedule with a game against the Trail Blazers on Thursday.

Johnson did a bit of everything in his return to the lineup after missing Monday’s game with a knee issue. He fell one assist shy of a triple-double, but he was still able to fill up the box score. Over his last five games, Johnson has averaged 26.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, 10.6 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 triples per game. His breakout season has resulted in his first All-Star appearance, and he’ll look to stay hot after the break.

Following a one-game absence with an ankle injury, Daniels was back in the lineup to take on Charlotte. He didn’t provide his typical dose of defensive production, but he was able to have a strong game offensively. This was just the fifth time this season Daniels has scored at least 20 points in a game, and he did it in just 26 minutes. Daniels has struggled as a scorer this year, and it is unlikely he is able to replicate this type of performance often.

Risacher suffered a quad contusion during Monday’s loss to the Timberwolves, which limited him to 21 minutes. In his return to Minnesota, NAW was able to have a productive night, though it wasn’t enough to keep this game close. He led the team in rebounds and assists, though he also led Atlanta in turnovers. This was a new season high for rebounds for NAW in what has been an incredible first season as a Hawk. With Jalen Johnson (knee) and Dyson Daniels (ankle) both sidelined, McCollum entered the starting unit and took on more responsibility on the offensive end. He got off to a blazing hot start, scoring 18 points in the first quarter. He was able to keep that going over the final three quarters, though it wasn’t enough to keep Atlanta close. If the Hawks remain shorthanded against the Hornets on Wednesday, McCollum could be in for another big night.

Jackson wasn’t as efficient as he was in his debut for Utah, but he was still able to contribute similar numbers. However, it had a chance to be a much better night. He scored 17 points in the first half, but he wasn’t part of the closing lineup. Managers should expect that trend to continue, which will limit Jackson’s impact in the box score. Daniels is dealing with some inflammation in his right ankle. If he’s unable to play on Monday, that would be a significant issue for the Hawks, as Daniels would likely be assigned to guard Anthony Edwards. Wearing a facemask reminiscent of the one worn by Hannibal Lecter, Okongwu returned to the Hawks’ lineup after a four-game absence. The fact that he shot over 50 percent from the field was a positive, as was his ability to play 30 minutes. There’s never a good time to suffer an injury, but Risacher’s knee injury came on the heels of him shooting 7-of-9 from three in a January 7 win over the Pelicans. In his first three games back, the Hawks forward shot 2-of-10 from deep, so Saturday’s 4-of-4 effort was a welcome sign. While other players on the Jazz are being removed after three quarters, Collier continues to play lots of minutes for Utah. The 21-year-old point guard has now played at least 30 minutes in four consecutive games, a timeline that overlaps with Keyonte George’s right ankle sprain. Jackson and most of the starters curiously played 25 minutes or less. The Jazz led by seven entering the fourth quarter before sidelining the 26-year-old power forward and other veterans, which ultimately led to the three-point loss. Playing in his home state of Georgia for the first time as an NBA player, Bailey put up 20 points and a complete stat line. While the shooting efficiency was lacking, his getting up 26 shots and logging 40 minutes may be a sign of what’s to come if the Jazz shut down their vets later this season. While teammate Isaiah Collier played all 48 minutes, Markkanen didn’t even play half that. The Jazz forward logged 23 minutes in Atlanta, and that’s one of the concerns for fantasy managers who have him rostered. The good news is that Markkanen actually played, unlike Jusuf Nurkić, who was active.
