The emotions of playing his first Knicks home game may have gotten the best of Alvarado in Tuesday’s loss to the Pacers. There were no such issues for the Brooklyn native on Wednesday, as he took over during the third and fourth quarters. Alvarado shot 8-of-13 from beyond the arc, dropping 26 points while showing why he’s nicknamed “Grand Theft Alvarado” with the five steals. And he recorded that stat line in just 19 minutes. With Miles McBride (core) possibly out until the postseason, Alvarado isn’t a bad pickup in deep leagues, even if nights like Wednesday won’t become the norm.

While Towns finished Tuesday’s overtime loss to the Pacers with a double-double, he was far more assertive on Wednesday. The Knicks’ improved ball movement may have been a factor, but the 7-footer deserves credit for the approach he took on both ends of the floor. That set the tone in what would be a 138-89 win, an excellent way for the Knicks to go into the All-Star break. Next up for Towns is an appearance in Sunday’s All-Star Game, where he’ll represent Team World.

After scoring 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Tuesday’s loss to the Pacers, Bridges did the same on Wednesday. However, he doubled his assist and steal numbers in the 138-89 demolition of the 76ers. While Bridges’ fantasy value has slipped some recently, with him providing seventh-round value over the past two weeks, he remains ranked safely within the top-50 in season-long value. The Knicks play three games after the All-Star break, starting with the Pistons on February 19.

Playing against the Bulls for the first time since being traded at the deadline, Vučević recorded his second double-double in three games as a Celtic. While he has been coming off the bench, the playing time has been good enough for Vooch to continue providing solid fantasy value. Not only has the reigning Sixth Man of the Year not taken a step back since returning to the bench, but he’s actually been better than he was as a starter. Pritchard has scored at least 24 points in four of the five games he’s played since the lineup change, with Sunday’s loss to the Knicks being the exception. Over the past two weeks, Pritchard has offered top-50 per-game value in eight- and nine-cat formats according to Basketball Monster. After scoring 26 points in Sunday’s loss to the Knicks, Brown put up 24 more on Wednesday. It’s been over a month since he last failed to score at least 20, which happened in a January 5 win over Chicago. The Celtics’ star has played at an MVP level throughout this season, more than holding down the fort while Jayson Tatum recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon. And the door hasn’t been closed on Tatum returning this season, which would raise the Celtics’ championship ceiling.

After scoring five points in the Knicks’ February 4 double-overtime win over the Nuggets, Bridges has gotten back on track offensively. He’s hit double figures in three straight, with Tuesday’s tally being the highest for him since dropping 23 in a February 3 win over the Wizards. Limited to 11 points in Sunday’s win over the Celtics, Towns doubled that tally on Tuesday while recording his 36th double-double of the season. Unfortunately for the Knicks, he wasn’t around for the latter stages of overtime, having fouled out with 2:14 remaining in the extra session. Indiana scored the first nine points of overtime, pushing their road record on the season to 4-22. Wednesday’s game against the Knicks is far more important to Towns and the Knicks, who need a win to avoid losing the season series. And they’ll need KAT to stay on the floor, especially if Joel Embiid plays.

Rookie Mohamed Diawara had the better day, contributing 10 points (4-of-4 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two three-pointers in 27 minutes off the bench. After tweaking his left ankle during Friday’s loss to the Pistons, Hart playing on Sunday wasn’t a sure thing.
