Risacher got off to a sizzling-hot start with 11 points in the opening four minutes of this one, finishing the first half with a game-high 16 points. He knocked down six of 10 from the floor during that span, including a pair of three pointers to propel the Hawks to a 17-point halftime lead. The 20-year-old former lottery pick will continue shouldering a larger role for Atlanta with offensive catalyst Trae Young facing a four-week absence with an MCL sprain in his right knee. He hasn’t been consistent enough to merit a roster spot in shallow fantasy leagues, but he’s shown some flashes of big-time scoring upside. His time is coming.

Daniels delivered a stat sheet-stuffing performance, serving as one of Atlanta’s primary playmakers in an impressive win over Orlando, dishing out six assists and shooting an extremely efficient 89 percent from the floor. The 22-year-old X-factor has picked things up from an offensive standpoint since Trae Young went out last week with an MCL sprain in his right knee. He’ll attempt to keep things going on Friday when the Hawks face the Raptors in another home matchup.

With Michael Porter Jr. (personal) unavailable, Clowney made his first start of the season on Monday. And he wasn’t bashful, putting up 12 three-point attempts and making four. The points, rebounds, steals and three-pointers were solid, with Clowney providing some value to the few adventurous souls who streamed him. In the short term, his value depends on Porter’s availability. However, with the Nets now 0-7, Clowney should definitely be on your “silly season” radar.

One day after scoring 29 points against the 76ers, Thomas dropped in another 25 on Monday. He’s scored 25 points or more in four of Brooklyn’s first seven games and is averaging 24.3 per. However, Thomas’s fantasy value in category leagues remains low due to his limited assist and defensive production. On Monday, he was solid in the assist and steal categories but remains ranked outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats.

Claxton has been one of the few bright spots for the 0-7 Nets, especially over the last three games. He’s scored 18 points or more in each, including consecutive 19-point efforts against the 76ers and Timberwolves. Monday’s stat line included seven assists, the most in a game for Claxton since recording a career-high 10 dimes in a March 6 game against the Warriors. Over his last two games, Nic has recorded 12 assists and four turnovers, an excellent margin for a center.

The Nets won’t have Michael Porter Jr. for Monday’s game, as he is away from the team for personal reasons. Brooklyn will go big, inserting Clowney into the starting lineup. While a capable pick-and-pop option, things haven’t necessarily clicked consistently for the 2023 first-round pick. Look for Ziaire Williams and Jalen Wilson to pick up additional minutes off the bench.

The 27th pick in this year’s draft will likely make his NBA debut on Monday, but it’s unclear what kind of role he’ll have in Brooklyn’s rotation, especially after coming off of injury. Like Jalen Johnson, Daniels’ fantasy value has improved since the Hawks lost Trae Young to a sprained right MCL. In the two games the Hawks’ point guard has missed, Daniels has totaled 36 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and one blocked shot while shooting 16-of-25 from the field. Of course, no team wants to lose its best player. However, Young’s absence may be the catalyst that Daniels needed after getting off to a slow start this season.

Porziņģis had a relatively quiet night scoring-wise, but he grabbed double-digit rebounds for the first time this season. And with Trae Young (knee) out, KP will likely have to do more as a rebounder and defender to keep his fantasy value up. In the two games Young has missed, Porziņģis has scored 15 points in both, three less than his season average (18.2). He still provides 6th-round value, but the ceiling lowered when the Hawks lost their starting point guard. Atlanta plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Magic on Tuesday.

In the two games the Hawks have played without Trae Young (knee), Johnson has recorded at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in each. Excellent last season before suffering a season-ending injury in late January, he’s picked up where he left off, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Young will be out for at least four weeks, and the timeline for a sprained MCL can be closer to 6-to-8 weeks. Johnson may not be the point guard, but he’ll have the ball in his hands more, raising his already-high fantasy ceiling.

While Claxton did not record his second double-double in as many games, he had his most productive all-around performance on Sunday. After blocking one shot total in Brooklyn’s first five games, he recorded three against the 76ers. Fantasy managers are accustomed to punting free-throw percentage when rostering Claxton, but the hope is that he’ll bring more to the table as a shot-blocker. Hopefully, Sunday’s performance is a sign that he’ll be able to do that consistently.

Porter had a rough night from beyond the arc, making just one of his 12 three-point attempts, negatively impacting the field-goal percentage. However, he was elite on the glass, grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds. Porter heads into Brooklyn’s four-game Week 3 providing top-75 value in eight-cat formats, which aligns with his Yahoo! ADP. However, while his fantasy ceiling is higher with the Nets than with the Nuggets, there may be some concern regarding a late-season shutdown with Brooklyn rebuilding.

The good news for fantasy managers is that Thomas provided value in points and three-pointers. However, that’s about all that he did on Sunday. Not only did he record just one rebound and one assist, but there were defensive lapses that factored into Kelly Oubre’s 22-point first quarter for the 76ers. Thomas, an unrestricted free agent next summer, will get his points. However, his financial ceiling in free agency will be determined by what he brings to the table in all areas, not just scoring.

The Hawks are without Trae Young (knee) for the foreseeable future, and Alexander-Walker replaced him in the starting lineup on Friday. There will be growing pains with the Nets using three of their five first-round picks in June’s draft on lead guards (Ben Saraf, Egor Dëmin and Nolan Traoré). However, that also means some of the team’s more experienced players may have opportunities to make plays for others. Mann fits the mold, and his six assists on Wednesday were the second-most a Nets player has recorded in a game this season (Cam Thomas had nine against Cleveland on October 24). Claxton recorded his first double-double of the season on Wednesday, and rebounding has been a struggle for the 6-foot-11 center. He’s averaging 6.6 boards per game through five appearances, but that number is boosted by Wednesday’s effort and a nine-rebound performance against the Cavaliers on October 24. In his other three games, Claxton grabbed five rebounds or fewer. Claxton is a player that fantasy managers draft with the expectation that they’ll have to punt free-throw percentage, not rebounds.

While Thomas is averaging 23.3 points per game this season, his field-goal percentage has significantly damaged his fantasy value. Porter notched his second 30-point game of the season on Wednesday, one shy of his tally for the 2024-25 campaign. While he’s no longer in a situation where contending for a title is the expectation, moving from Denver to Brooklyn has raised Porter’s offensive ceiling. Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said after Wednesday’s win over the Nets that Young doesn’t have an issue with the ACL in his right knee, but an MRI will determine the severity of his injury. Unsurprisingly, Porter has been featured heavily on offense to start the season. However, that has only led to one big scoring night, and it wasn’t on Monday. One game removed from fracturing his nose after landing face-first during a loss to the Cavaliers, Thomas suffered another facial injury on Sunday. He suffered a cut over his left eye late in the second quarter. However, while Thomas was not on the court to begin the second half, he returned to continue his offensive assault. The Nets guard finished with his first 40-point game since November 15, 2024, shooting 44 percent from the field and 100 percent from the foul line. Unfortunately, Thomas did not provide any assists or defensive status, but experienced fantasy managers know not to expect consistent value from him in those categories.
