Lively was upgraded to questionable ahead of this game, but his return will be delayed for at least one more game. Lively hasn’t suited up since January 14, but ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported he is “trending toward” a return later this week. That is backed up by his questionable tag. If it’s not Wednesday against the Hawks, Lively could play in one leg of the Mavs’ mini-series with the Clippers on Friday and Saturday. With Daniel Gafford returning on Monday, Kai Jones could be pushed out of the rotation soon.

Gafford last played on February 10, but he’s poised to make a return following a six-week absence. Davis continues to struggle shooting as he’s 12-of-42 from the field over the last two games. It’s still encouraging that the 32-year-old power forward played at least 29 minutes in back-to-back games. Davis has some rust he still needs to shake off, but fantasy managers can’t ask for much more from him given he’s coming back from an adductor injury.

Washington returned after missing two games with an ankle injury. He looked like the same guy as he had 19 points and seven rebounds against the Bulls Saturday. Dinwiddie’s play has been exceptional of late as he’s provided top-75 fantasy value over the last two weeks. The 31-year-old point guard has been the primary beneficiary of Kyrie Irving’s absence as he’s getting to run the show in Dallas. Dinwiddie’s scoring can fluctuate, but he’s a reliable assist man with at least seven assists in six of his last seven games. He should be rostered in all leagues at this point.

With Nic Claxton resting, Timme was set for a considerable role off the bench in this one. He ended up scoring 19 points and pulling down six rebounds in 29 minutes of play. Martin started for the injured D’Angelo Russell Saturday and was excellent with 20 points on 11 shots including three made three-pointers. The 26-year-old point guard will have to be more consistent before he’s considered a recommended streaming option when the opportunity arises, though. Johnson had an excellent game with 18 points on 10 shots and was just one rebound and three assists away from a triple-double. He only played 24 minutes after taking a hard fall on his back in the second half of the game. It’s unclear what his availability will be going forward, but this is certainly an excuse for the Nets to shut Johnson down for the rest of the season. Hours after signing a two-year contract, Timme made his Nets debut against the Clippers. Noah Clowney and Day’Ron Sharpe being out meant rotation minutes for the former Gonzaga standout, and he recorded a double-double. There’s no need to add Timme in the aftermath of this performance, but it’s an indicator of what he can offer when playing rotation minutes. Friday night was rough for Johnson and those who have him rostered. He provided limited production and only played for 20 minutes. While Johnson’s playing time occasionally taking a hit is unsurprising since the Nets aim to improve their draft lottery odds, 20 minutes is extreme for a player of his caliber. And with Brooklyn visiting the Wizards on Saturday, there’s no guarantee he will be available. Consider Johnson questionable for that matchup.

No Nets players did much offensively in the 132-100 defeat, with Johnson leading the way in scoring. Percentages have long been an issue for Johnson, which has lowered his fantasy ceiling. The former Gonzaga star went undrafted in 2023 and has been working hard in the G League to earn a spot in the NBA. After being named G League Player of the Week, Timme earned a standard contract with Brooklyn. It will be a good opportunity for him over the final couple weeks of the regular season, but it’s likely an indication of how the Nets want the rest of the season to play out. While Sharpe has recorded three steals or more in three games this season, he isn’t expected to provide value in that category on most nights. While fantasy managers can undoubtedly use the points and assists recorded by Johnson on Monday, there were issues. The 1-of-7 night from three wasn’t a huge issue, as few fantasy leagues use three-point percentage as a scoring category. Unfortunately, the six turnovers will impact Johnson’s value in nine-cat formats during Week 21.
