After missing 16 games with a high ankle sprain, Wagner was back on the court Thursday afternoon in his hometown of Berlin. While the stat line did not include any steals or blocks, the rebounds and three-pointers were solid. Also encouraging for fantasy managers was his playing 27 minutes in his first game back. Wagner’s return meant fewer minutes for Noah Penda (nine points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and one three-pointer in 18 minutes), who is more valuable to dynasty leagues than redrafts.

While Franz Wagner was back in the lineup after a 16-game absence, his return did not negatively affect Black’s opportunities. The third-year guard was excellent during the second half, helping Orlando bounce back from a slow start. Black shot 4-of-6 from the field in the third quarter, and in the fourth, provided one of the dunks of the season. His fantasy value should be fine until Jalen Suggs returns from injury, and it’s going to take a lot to decrease Black’s opportunities, given how well he’s played.

Banchero has recorded three double-doubles in his last four games, and the four steals accumulated were a nice touch for fantasy managers who have him rostered. Back in the rotation after sitting out Monday’s loss to the Mavericks, Thomas was limited to 24 minutes against the Pelicans. With this being the guard’s contract year, the role has to be frustrating. Fantasy managers can take solace in the assist tally, as Thomas’ five helpers were the most in a game for him since he dished out nine on October 24. Those who have him rostered must be hoping for a trade by the February 5 deadline, because the situation could become more dire from a fantasy standpoint if he isn’t.

Making his third start and second in as many games, Powell dropped a season-high point total on Wednesday. Add in the rebounds and field-goal percentage, and this was a solid effort from the rookie. Powell played only 24 minutes, in part because of Cam Thomas being available. The playing time may limit Powell’s upside in the short term, but that shouldn’t be an issue after the All-Star break.

Remember when Dëmin’s shooting was the most significant question that draft analysts had about him? The rookie guard has shot the ball well from three, knocking down nearly 40 percent of his 6.1 attempts per game. Dëmin knocked down five on Wednesday while also recording five assists. Rostered in 18 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he has been a top-75 player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. There’s no need to wait for the trade deadline to add Dëmin; do it now.

Porter, who has scored at least 20 points in nine of his last ten appearances, had a chance to send Wednesday’s game into overtime. Unfortunately for him, his shot from a few steps inside of half-court was wide left, extending the Nets’ losing streak to five games. Porter has been one of the bright spots for Brooklyn, playing well enough that his name has been mentioned in trade rumors. And for the sake of fantasy managers hoping to count on MPJ during the playoff weeks, a trade may be needed to ensure that he doesn’t get shut down late in the season.

Dëmin will replace Terance Mann in the Nets’ starting lineup on Wednesday as the team looks to end a four-game losing streak. Dëmin missed Brooklyn’s most recent game against Dallas, but his return will provide the Nets’ starting unit with more three-point shooting. Clowney was tasked with serving as Brooklyn’s primary offensive threat with Michael Porter Jr. sitting out for load management purposes and Cam Thomas limited due to a hamstring issue. He matched a season-high with 17 shot attempts and shot just 24 percent from the floor, including a ghastly 4-of-15 from three-point range. There are better shooting days in the forecast for the 21-year-old forward in the future since he’s been right around 33 percent for his career from beyond the arc. Martin saw an uptick in creation possessions as the Nets leaned on him from a scoring standpoint with Cam Thomas still dealing with a hamstring issue and Michael Porter Jr. sitting out for load management purposes. The 26-year-old guard was outstanding from distance in this one, knocking down 5-of-7 attempts from beyond the arc, fueling his highest single-game scoring output since a 26-point explosion back on November 23. After more than a year on the sidelines recovering from a torn ACL, Wagner made his first appearance of the season on Sunday. Clowney’s final stat line was an interesting one. Inefficient shooting, especially from beyond the arc, where he shot 0-of-5, kept him from putting many points on the board. Yet, he tied season-highs in assists and steals along the way to provide some solid fantasy production. His start to 2026 has been a rough one from a three-point shooting standpoint — Clowney is now without a three-pointer in three of the four games he’s appeared in. Carter Jr. was one of only two Orlando players to finish with 20 or more points on the evening. None of the big man’s scoring production came from the three-point line versus Brooklyn, which marks the second consecutive game that he’s gone without a three-pointer. Banchero bounced back on Wednesday from a forgettable Tuesday against the Wizards to help the Magic edge out the Nets in overtime. He notched a team-high in points and was one of several Magic players to secure double-digit rebounds. Banchero did struggle with his ball security, committing nine turnovers and ultimately costing himself some fantasy basketball production. Clowney played a key role on both ends of the floor for Brooklyn in this one as he poured in eight and 11 points in the first and third quarters, respectively, to help them snap a three-game losing streak. The 21-year-old playmaking forward had little trouble exploiting Denver’s lack of interior defenders and also went 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
