With Williams sidelined for a second straight game, Jalen Wilson will continue to play added minutes off the bench. He logged 23 minutes on Monday and should see a large opportunity once again, but he isn’t worth streaming in standard leagues.

Offense has not been an issue for Knueppel thus far, with the rookie averaging 16.0 points per game. However, he isn’t a defender who’s going to provide consistent numbers on that end of the floor (two steals and no blocks in four games), and he’s shooting just 50 percent from the foul line. While the foul shooting is unlikely to be a long-term issue for Knueppel, the lack of defensive stats may limit his fantasy ceiling in the short term.

Kalkbrenner has gotten off to a solid start in his rookie season, especially for those who drafted him for defensive reasons. The rookie has accrued four steals and four blocked shots while shooting a staggering 90.5 percent from the field through four games. While Kalkbrenner, who made all five of his shots on Tuesday, is unlikely to maintain that percentage over the long haul, expecting consistent defensive production is realistic. The playing time was just as encouraging on Tuesday, with Kalkbrenner logging a season-high 31 minutes. He’s only rostered in 21 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and the Hornets play three games in the final four days of Week 2.

Sexton has scored at least 18 points in three straight games, fitting in nicely alongside LaMelo Ball, even if the Hornets’ defense has suffered. He shot the ball well against the Heat, but Sexton committed four turnovers and did not provide any defensive statistics. Even before Brandon Miller’s shoulder injury, he was a starter, but the third-year wing’s absence frees up additional scoring opportunities for Sexton. And with the Hornets playing three games in the final four days of Week 2, adding Sexton (32 percent rostered, Yahoo!) would be a good idea if he’s on the waiver wire.

While all five Hornets starters scored in double figures, the team’s porous defense was too much to overcome. In the case of Ball, his efficiency was lacking in Miami. In addition to the poor shooting, he was responsible for five of Charlotte’s 17 turnovers. However, despite averaging four turnovers per game, LaMelo is providing top-20 value in nine-cat formats, and top-10 in eight-cat. He’s off to a good start, with the lone concern being his injury history.

Initially questionable for Tuesday’s game, Mann will be available to contribute off the bench. Rookies Sion James and Liam McNeeley might miss out on the opportunities for additional minutes, but it must be noted that the Hornets are without Brandon Miller (shoulder). James is higher in the pecking order due to his defensive ability.

Dëmin missed the preseason due to a plantar fascia injury, and Monday’s loss to the Rockets was the Nets’ second game in as many days. Sitting out one half of back-to-backs may be in the cards for the rookie for the foreseeable future, which limits his fantasy upside. Nolan Traoré, who logged 21 minutes against Houston, will likely see his playing time decrease with Dëmin available.

Injured during the third quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Spurs, Williams did not play in Monday’s loss to the Rockets. Fellow reserve Jalen Wilson played 23 minutes in Williams’ absence but provided limited streaming value. Neither player is a must-roster option in fantasy leagues, regardless of format.

There weren’t many bright spots in this game for Brooklyn, but Sharpe was able to record his first double-double of the season off the bench. He played 22 minutes to Noah Clowney’s 16 and was significantly more productive. Though Nic Claxton will continue to be the team’s starting center, Sharpe has been able to showcase his upside early on this year. He’s worth stashing in dynasty leagues and could be really productive in March and April.

Unsurprisingly, Porter has been featured heavily on offense to start the season. However, that has only led to one big scoring night, and it wasn’t on Monday. This was an efficient night for MPJ, but he set a season-low for shot attempts. MPJ was drafted in the sixth round of Yahoo! leagues with the idea that he would be a high-volume scorer for the Nets to start the year. He’ll need to shoot more against the Hawks on Wednesday to bounce back.

Mann has been starting for the Nets, but he hadn’t been contributing much on the offensive end. However, he popped out of nowhere to lead them in scoring in this one. Mann has never finished inside the top-150 in nine-category leagues, and that’s unlikely to change this season, even though he’s starting. He can confidently be left on the waiver wire in standard leagues, even if this was a strong performance.

Mann has played 18.3 minutes per game off the bench this season, and his absence would likely open the door for rookie Sion James to take on extra minutes. He had 13 points, three triples and three stocks in 20 minutes off the bench in Charlotte’s last game.

The Hornets’ official report states that Miller will be re-evaluated after their road trip. Well, Tuesday’s game is the final game of this trip, so Miller will miss that one, and then they’ll provide a better timeline. Kon Knueppel will get at least one more start in his place.

While Dëmin is sitting for injury management reasons, Williams fell hard during Sunday’s loss to the Spurs. Both absences will impact the Nets’ rotation, with Jalen Wilson likely being the biggest beneficiary. However, he would not be worth streaming in most leagues, as the starters are available. Rookie Nolan Traoré may pick up a few minutes due to Dëmin’s absence, but fellow first-round pick Ben Saraf remains the starter.

Diabaté is basically sharing the center role with Ryan Kalkbrenner. While Diabaté came off the bench on Sunday, he played 23 minutes to Kalkbrenner’s 22. He also had a double-double while Kalkbrenner managed just four points and five rebounds. Diabaté is unlikely to take over the primary center role for himself without an injury to Kalkbrenner, but he can still have value in his current role.

Knueppel started and played 35 minutes with Brandon Miller (shoulder) out against the Wizards on Sunday. The 20-year-old rookie made the most of his opportunity with 20 points, six rebounds and five made three-pointers. Knueppel isn’t going to contribute much in the other categories and his minutes could fluctuate this season, but the scoring ability has been apparent in the early going.

Ball had an absolutely monster game against the Wizards on Sunday. The 24-year-old point guard triple doubled while playing efficient basketball. Ball has had at least 20 points and at least eight assists in all three games so far this season. He took on more of a scoring role with Brandon Miller (shoulder) out Sunday. Ball’s health will be key to his fantasy success this season.

The Hornets are without Brandon Miller for Sunday’s game, with Knueppel filling the vacancy. A starter in the season opener, the lottery pick out of Duke was replaced in the lineup by Sexton for Saturday’s loss to the 76ers. The other four starters are unchanged, with Ball playing both ends of Charlotte’s first back-to-back of the season.

Claxton shot the ball well on Sunday, but he had to deal with foul trouble. Taking on San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama is never easy, but the good news for Claxton is that he’ll only see the phenom once more this season. After a disappointing 2024-25 season, the Nets center is ranked just outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats through three games. The biggest surprise is that Claxton has yet to block a shot after averaging at least one per game in his previous five seasons.

Having shot nearly 49 percent from the field in his first two games as a Net, Porter cooled down on Sunday. However, he provided solid value in rebounds, assists and steals, playing 37 minutes. While the move east means Porter won’t be on a team considered a title contender, it raised his fantasy ceiling. MPJ isn’t a “sell high” player after three games, but that’s something for fantasy managers to track, especially if they’re concerned that the Nets could look to prioritize their rookies even more later this season.

One game removed from fracturing his nose after landing face-first during a loss to the Cavaliers, Thomas suffered another facial injury on Sunday. He suffered a cut over his left eye late in the second quarter. However, while Thomas was not on the court to begin the second half, he returned to continue his offensive assault. The Nets guard finished with his first 40-point game since November 15, 2024, shooting 44 percent from the field and 100 percent from the foul line. Unfortunately, Thomas did not provide any assists or defensive status, but experienced fantasy managers know not to expect consistent value from him in those categories.

Ball was solid in the season opener, but this is the type of performance that he’s capable of. He wasn’t able to come through late in the game to deliver a win for Charlotte, but for fantasy managers, this was a big night. Ball will look to stay hot in Washington on Sunday in what will be his first time playing in a back-to-back since last November, assuming he doesn’t randomly pop up on the injury report.

After coming off the bench in the season opener, Sexton moved into the starting lineup in place of Kon Knueppel. He took advantage of the role increase. He played 17 minutes and scores 15 points on Wednesday, but he logged 30 minutes in this one and was able to add the boost in assists. Brandon Miller exited early with a shoulder injury, which allowed Knueppel to start the second half. Sexton may continue to start over Knueppel regardless, but if Miller is sidelined, Sexton’s role feels safer.

Thomas wasn’t much of a factor in the Nets’ loss to the Hornets on Wednesday with 15 points on 2-of-9 shooting in 24 minutes. It was a different story for Thomas on Friday against the Cavaliers as he dropped 33 points and had nine assists with just three turnovers. The Nets still lost, but only by seven points. Thomas’ role could become tenuous on a rebuilding team later in the season, but for now he’s certainly a priority for their offense.

Porter Jr. bounced back from a 12-point debut with the Nets to have 31 points agains the Cavaliers on Tuesday. The 27-year-old power forward’s playmaking from the first game where he had five assists in 25 minutes didn’t carry over to game two. Porter Jr. struggled in his regular season debut with his new team after an offseason trade from the Nuggets. The 27-year-old power forward is still trending up as a fantasy asset, though. Porter Jr. led the Nets in shot attempts with 15 in just 25 minutes of play. He also had five assists. So while Porter Jr. didn’t shoot the ball well, he still took the most shots on the team and wasn’t hogging the ball with five assists in 25 minutes. There will be better nights in the future for Porter Jr.

Ball has appeared in more than 51 games once in five years in the NBA. While there were positives to draw from his opening game performance against the Nets on Wednesday, Ball will have to stay available for the overwhelming majority of a season to really pay off for fantasy managers. Miller’s 2024-25 season was marred by injury with a wrist injury requiring surgery in January. The 22-year-old small forward was a bit of a mixed bag in his first game back on Wednesday. The Nets used all five of their first-round picks in June’s draft, but Saraf is the only rookie to have cracked the starting five for opening night. He outplayed Nolan Traoré during the preseason and Egor Dëmin was out due to injury, so Wednesday’s lineup is unsurprising. Dëmin will be on a minutes restriction, but he will play. Kalkbrenner or Moussa Diabaté would be Charlotte’s starting center, and the rookie won out for the season opener. Added to the injury report Wednesday afternoon, Wolf has been downgraded from questionable to out. With Noah Clowney and Day’Ron Sharpe available off the bench, Wolf’s opportunities would have been limited if he were healthy enough to play. Hornets head coach Charles Lee alternated starting centers throughout the preseason, with Diabaté making three starts and rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner getting the other two. While Mason Plumlee (three points and three rebounds in 10 minutes) also played rotation minutes during the preseason, most of the minutes went to either Diabaté or Kalkbrenner (6/1/2/0/1 in 15 minutes). With LaMelo Ball getting the night off, Sexton served as the Hornets’ starting point guard on Friday. The results were mixed. While he did record a 20-point double-double, Sexton was also responsible for nine of the Hornets’ 21 turnovers. That isn’t a big deal for managers either punting turnovers or competing in eight-cat formats, but that’s an area Sexton will need to clean up. Especially when considering LaMelo’s injury history, there may be times during the season when the Hornets need Sexton to take on more playmaking responsibilities.

Bridges, who only logged 18 minutes on Friday, finishes his preseason with a flourish. The Hornets forward scored 20 points or more in his final three games while shooting 26-of-47 from the field. While he isn’t a lock to provide top-50 value, due mainly to inconsistent defensive production, Bridges should be a relatively safe middle-round option in standard leagues. Based on his Yahoo! Williams continues to come off the bench exclusively after mostly starting for the Nets last season. The 24-year-old forward played more minutes than starter Terance Mann 28-to-23 on Friday, though. Porter Jr. had scored 13, 13 and 15 points in the other three Nets preseason games, but was clearly a primary weapon in Brooklyn’s offense. Bridges scored a total of 15 points over his first two preseason games but has surpassed 20 in each of his last two. He was joined by LaMelo Ball (23) and Brandon Miller (21) in scoring at least 20 points. If all three are able to score at this rate, the Hornets will have a chance to push for a postseason spot. Ryan Kalkbrenner remained in the starting unit at center for Charlotte in this game, but Diabate was able to make a bigger impact off the bench. The position battle between Kalkbrenner, Diabate and Mason Plumlee is a vital one for fantasy hoops; if Kalkbrenner or Diabate gets the nod, either will be worth taking at the end of drafts. However, Plumlee won’t be worth a selection, even if he plays a significant role.
