After recording one triple-double in the previous three seasons combined, Randle has two in Minnesota’s first nine games of the 2025-26 campaign. He was responsible for seven turnovers on Friday, but this was the first game in which the Timberwolves’ forward had surpassed five. High-turnover nights of this caliber are unlikely to become the norm for Randle, so there’s no need for anyone to be concerned. And Friday’s performance was an indicator of what he’ll be able to do with Anthony Edwards (37 points) back in the lineup and fully healthy.

McDaniels has scored 20 points or more in four of Minnesota’s nine games, and he’s off to the best start of his NBA career. The 6-foot-9 wing is averaging 18.3 points per game, which would be the best of his career by more than six points (12.2 ppg last season). And he’s doing this while shooting nearly 54 percent from the field. McDaniels is providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, and some may be tempted to sell high, especially with Anthony Edwards back from a hamstring injury. However, those two combined for 59 points on Friday, and Julius Randle recorded a triple-double, which may be a sign of McDaniels’ staying power.

Charlotte’s centers combined to block seven shots on Friday. Starter Ryan Kalkbrenner (10 points, five rebounds) was responsible for four blocks while Diabaté contributed three, along with his third double-double of the season. Despite coming off the bench, Diabaté has provided solid late-round value in 12-team formats, which is why he’s rostered in 13 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He’s worth holding onto in deep leagues.

Knueppel’s field goal percentage wasn’t great, but that is not a big deal given the overall production. The rookie notched his first 30-point game and a complete stat line, putting up 23 shots on a night when the Hornets were without LaMelo Ball and Collin Sexton. Even when those two return, Knueppel will be in the starting lineup, and he should probably be rostered in a higher percentage of fantasy leagues. He’s currently rostered in 28 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

With LaMelo Ball and Collin Sexton unavailable due to injury, Mann made his first start since April 14, 2024. The former first-round pick took advantage of his opportunity, even if the field-goal percentage was low. Mann recorded his first 20-point game of the season and provided good value in the rebound and assist categories. Charlotte won’t play again during Week 3, but Mann would have streaming value if Ball and Sexton miss Monday’s game against the Lakers.

Initially questionable for Friday’s game, Edwards looked far sharper than he did in his return from a hamstring injury on Wednesday. Of course, the Jazz aren’t on the same level as the Knicks, but that should not detract from Ant-Man’s exemplary performance. Edwards and the Timberwolves will play once more during Week 3, as they visit the Kings on Sunday.

Friday’s absence will mark the third straight for Ball, who was injured in a blowout loss to the Timberwolves to begin the month. The sixth-year guard was off to another strong start, averaging 23.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 9.8 assists through his first six appearances of the season. Without him, and also without Collin Sexton (neck), the Hornets will be without two of their main backcourt options and two of their top three scorers against the Heat.

Randle continued his hot start to the season with an excellent showing in his second game at Madison Square Garden since being traded by the Knicks last September. He’s scored 30 points or more on three of his last four games, with Wednesday being the first in which Randle shared the floor with Anthony Edwards. With Ant-Man back from a strained hamstring, it’s fair to wonder how Randle’s production will be impacted. However, he’s been a top-10 player thus far, and that isn’t only because of what Randle’s done when Edwards hasn’t been available.

Anthony Edwards’ return from a strained hamstring did not impact DiVincenzo much on Wednesday, as he remained in his usual spot in the starting lineup. And the “Big Ragu” did not disappoint, finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. Back in the Timberwolves’ lineup after missing four games with a strained hamstring, Edwards appeared to be a bit rusty at times. However, that’s understandable, even for a player of his caliber. Edwards recorded a solid overall stat line, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Timberwolves within striking distance in the fourth quarter. Minnesota plays twice more during Week 3, with the second game being part of a Sunday/Monday back-to-back. However, with Ant-Man not restricted on Wednesday, back-to-backs may not be a problem for him.

On the heels of a 29-point performance over the weekend in a blowout win over Utah without LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (shoulder), Bridges reached the 20-point plateau once again in this one. He had a chance to give the Hornets the lead in the closing seconds, but his fadeaway three-pointer came up short. He did most of his damage in the first half of this one when he drained three of five three-point attempts to notch a game-high 16 points at the break. Having started slowly to begin the season, Reid has shown signs of getting back on track. He’s scored 16 points or more in three of his last four outings, including a season-high 21 on Monday. There wasn’t much value to be had outside of the points, percentages and three-pointers, but every little bit helps for category league managers. In his first game against his former team, Sexton had a productive Sunday evening. The veteran guard didn’t shoot the ball all that well, but still cracked double figures in scoring while also registering double-digit assists along the way. Knueppel bounced back from consecutive five-point performances to log a career-high in points and record his second game of at least 20 points this season. As was the case in his previous season-high, three-point shooting was a major factor — the rookie guard was electric from beyond the arc and led his team in that specific category. McDaniels was aggressive on the offensive end in Minnesota’s first game of the season without Anthony Edwards (hamstring). The versatile forward led all Timberwolves players in shot attempts and was the only one to tally double-digit makes. He was efficient from the floor and, unsurprisingly, made an impact on the defensive end as a shot blocker. McDaniels didn’t get involved much on the glass or as a passer, but if he can stay consistent as a scorer during Edwards’s absence, he’ll provide an undermanned Timberwolves squad with a needed scoring boost.
