On the heels of a 29-point performance over the weekend in a blowout win over Utah without LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (shoulder), Bridges reached the 20-point plateau once again in this one. He had a chance to give the Hornets the lead in the closing seconds, but his fadeaway three-pointer came up short. He did most of his damage in the first half of this one when he drained three of five three-point attempts to notch a game-high 16 points at the break. He’ll be asked to carry Charlotte’s offense while both Ball and Bridges are out.

Knueppel eclipsed 20 points for the second straight contest with both LaMelo Ball (ankle) and Brandon Miller (shoulder) sidelined with injuries. The 20-year-old lottery pick connected on just three of 10 three-point attempts in this one, but went 4-for-6 inside the arc. He’s been a nice addition for fantasy managers in deeper leagues as he’s shown some scoring and rebounding upside in the early stages of his rookie campaign.

Banchero went 0-for-4 from beyond the arc but still finished just two assists shy of a triple-double. Orlando’s perimeter struggles continued, shooting 25 percent (5-of-20) from deep in the first half and falling behind by 17 at the break. The 23-year-old franchise cornerstone has underwhelmed early on relative to fantasy managers’ lofty expectations, averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds through eight games. The Magic will attempt to turn things around on Friday against the defensively-challenged Celtics in a tasty home matchup.

There weren’t a ton of bright spots in this one for Orlando, but da Silva came off the bench to inject some much-needed life, knocking down four of five shots from downtown. The Magic continue to be one of the worst three-point shooting teams in the league, which gives da Silva a chance to carve out a larger role moving forward. He’s scored in double figures five times in eight games to open the season.

Bane was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul for pulling down Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu as he was going up for a layup. The following action of swatting the ball down onto a prone Okongwu was what prompted the technical foul, leading to Bane’s ejection. Ball did not play in Sunday’s win over the Jazz. Rookie Sion James moved into the starting lineup, and Collin Sexton shifted into the point guard position. Both were productive enough to merit being slotted into lineups with Ball unavailable, and that can also be said for Kon Knueppel. Sexton and Knueppel will have fantasy staying power if Ball plays on Tuesday, but James will not.

Miller injured his left shoulder during Charlotte’s October 25 loss to the 76ers. Upon the Hornets’ return from their road trip, the initial diagnosis of a left shoulder subluxation was confirmed, and he will miss at least two weeks before being re-evaluated. Kon Knueppel returned to the starting lineup in Miller’s absence and should retain that role for the foreseeable future. The rookie isn’t a must-add, but his fantasy ceiling is raised.

In his first game against his former team, Sexton had a productive Sunday evening. The veteran guard didn’t shoot the ball all that well, but still cracked double figures in scoring while also registering double-digit assists along the way. His six turnovers ultimately brought his fantasy production down a bit, but his first double-double of the season was a timely one as the Hornets were able to stop a three-game losing streak.

Knueppel bounced back from consecutive five-point performances to log a career-high in points and record his second game of at least 20 points this season. As was the case in his previous season-high, three-point shooting was a major factor — the rookie guard was electric from beyond the arc and led his team in that specific category. Knueppel also made an impact as a facilitator, giving him his most balanced offensive performance yet. He’ll have a chance to build off of Sunday’s momentum on Tuesday against the Pelicans.

On the second night of a back-to-back, Bridges nearly equalled the 30 points he recorded against the Timberwolves on Saturday. His shooting was much less efficient on Sunday, but he still made his way to the charity stripe frequently to help land his scoring production. Bridges also made contributions as a facilitator and added multiple makes from beyond the arc. Overall, his performance against the Jazz was enough to stop the Hornets’ three-game losing streak and put them in the win column for only the third time this season.

Carter recorded his second double-double of the season on Saturday, finishing one rebound shy of his season-high. Over his last two games, the Magic center has scored 34 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Back in the Magic lineup after sitting out Thursday’s win over the Hornets, Suggs had a rough night from beyond the arc. He missed all seven three-point attempts, sinking his overall field-goal percentage. However, Suggs did rack up five steals, which was an excellent development for category-league managers and DFS players, as he salvaged something from Saturday’s effort. While Orlando plays three games during Week 3, it ends with a Sunday/Monday back-to-back, potentially limiting Suggs to two games. While teammate Paolo Banchero boasted a higher ADP entering the season, Wagner has remained the superior option in category leagues. He finished Saturday’s rout a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line and is ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats. Wagner’s scoring and assist averages are slightly lower than his 2024-25 numbers, but that isn’t a huge deal. Banchero and the Magic grabbed control of Saturday’s game during the second quarter, outscoring the Wizards by a 43-21 margin. The lineup change did not negatively impact Sexton’s output, as he shot the ball well from the field and recorded a solid stat line. A late-round pick for many fantasy managers, Kalkbrenner has exceeded expectations thus far by clearly understanding where he’s most valuable. The rookie center shot 8-of-9 from the field on Thursday and is now 27-of-30 for the season. Add in the rebounds and defensive stats, and it isn’t hard to figure out why Kalkbrenner has been close to a top-50 player. This was a disappointing performance from Bridges outside of the rebounds and three-pointers. Ball provided solid production in the rebound, assist and steal categories while limiting the turnovers, but he struggled with his shot. The Hornets guard shot 1-of-9 from beyond the arc, but he did enter Thursday shooting a career-best 39.5 percent through four games. While Carter has grabbed at least eight rebounds in five of his six games played, the offensive production has been limited. He established season-highs in points and three-pointers while shooting 66.7 percent from the field. The Magic were without starting point guard Jalen Suggs on Thursday, as the game was the team’s second in as many nights. While Tyus Jones (five points, one steal and one three-pointer in 14 minutes) started the first game that Suggs missed, Black was tabbed to fill the void on Thursday, taking on the task of defending LaMelo Ball. While solid defensively, the third-year guard had his best offensive night of the season, scoring 20 points and shooting 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero handled most of the playmaking for the starters, but this did not negatively impact Black’s production. Offense has not been an issue for Knueppel thus far, with the rookie averaging 16.0 points per game.
