While the Spurs decided to go small when Victor Wembanyama was sitting in their last game, expect Kornet to resume his role as the backup center on Saturday. After coming off the bench in Wednesday’s win over the Thunder, Barnes was back in the starting lineup Thursday night, with Stephon Castle coming off the bench. The veteran forward made the most of his opportunities, shooting 5-of-7 from three. And the 19 points were the most in a game for Barnes since he scored 20 in a December 23 win over Oklahoma City. He isn’t worth the risk in most fantasy leagues, but Barnes is still capable of coming through with a good night every so often.

After sitting out Sunday’s win over the Magic with an adductor injury, Castle played both games of the Spurs’ back-to-back. However, his minutes were limited, with the reigning Rookie of the Year coming off the bench and playing 21 on Thursday. Castle started Wednesday’s win over the Thunder and logged 26 minutes. The positive for fantasy managers was that he was highly productive in those 21 minutes, with the stat line only missing a blocked shot.

After logging 28 minutes in Wednesday’s win over the Thunder, Wembanyama played 34 on Thursday. That’s the highest minutes tally for him since returning from the knee injury that cost him two games at the start of January. Even if the Spurs look to keep Wembanyama’s minutes “in check,” he doesn’t need much time to put up a robust stat line. On Wednesday, he made his first five three-point attempts and finished with another complete stat line. The Spurs host Dallas on Saturday in both teams’ final game of Week 16.

After scoring nine points in Monday’s win over the Pelicans, Bridges doubled his output as Charlotte extended its win streak to eight games. While he hasn’t been the flashiest fantasy option, the Hornets’ forward has offered consistent value, ranking within the top-100 in nine-cat formats. While Ball is shooting 39.7 percent from the field over the past two weeks, his overall production is one reason why the Hornets have won their last eight games. Since shooting 0-of-10 from three in a January 21 loss to the Cavaliers, LaMelo has made at least two triples in each game of the win streak. While turnovers and shot selection can still be an issue for Ball, he’s making strides to the delight of the Hornets and fantasy managers.

For the first time since 1999, the Hornets have won eight consecutive games. Ball took a hit to the face early in this game after both he and head coach Charles Lee went for a ball that was going out of bounds. Ball went to the locker room, but he was able to return and push Charlotte’s winning streak to seven games. Ball hasn’t been the only reason for Charlotte’s recent success, but he has only missed three games since November, which is a great development for him. Williams has played a solid role off the bench since making his season debut on Jan. 10, but he hasn’t contributed much in the box score. However, he was able to have his first double-digit scoring outing of the season in this game. While Ball didn’t have the best day shooting the basketball, including a 3-of-9 afternoon from inside the arc, his work as a playmaker helped the Hornets extend their win streak to six games.
