Charlotte will shuffle its starting lineup yet again, with Baugh drawing his first career start and Diabate filling in at center while Mark Williams and Jusuf Nurkic are sidelined. Miles Bridges is the only remaining player in this rotation who opened the season as a starter, so expect him to see monster usage. Bridges scored a career-high 46 points in Friday’s loss to Cleveland.

Nurkic came down hard and awkwardly on his neck after finishing a dunk in Friday’s loss to Cleveland. The injury appeared serious on replay, but fortunately, Nurkic’s injury is described simply as soreness. With he and Mark Williams sidelined, expect Moussa Diabate to see big minutes.

Poole will return to the court following a three-game absence, which will likely send Bub Carrington back to the bench. Across his last five outings, Poole averaged 25.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists, and he’ll look to pick back up where he left off. Holmes should assume his role as Alex Sarr’s primary backup after one game on the sideline. Even off the bench, Holmes still carries some streaming value in deeper leagues.

Ball was underwhelming against the Cavaliers his last time out and Mark Williams didn’t play at all. The Hornets are being cautious with both of their young pieces, so it appears like Moussa Diabate and a backup guard could get spot starts against the Nets.

Nurkic is rostered in most leagues so he doesn’t count as a streamer, but the 30-year-old center did an admirable job filling in for Mark Williams against the Cavaliers on Friday. Despite a difficult matchup against Jarrett Allen, Nurkic was able to record a double-double. He played 28 minutes against Cleveland and showed once again he’s fantasy-viable when given adequate playing time.

The Hornets had the Cavaliers on the ropes in this one as they led by nine points with under six minutes to play. Bridges was a huge part of that effort as he dropped a career-high 46 points. Cleveland showed they were the better team as they closed the game with 23-13 run, but that doesn’t matter for Bridges’ fantasy managers. The 26-year-old small forward has been a top-20 fantasy value since the All-Star break and the good times continued Friday with a career game.

Green is back after sitting out Wednesday’s loss to the Timberwolves, with his return pushing Nick Smith Jr. to the bench. The other change is Nurkic, who will fill the void left by Mark Williams. Nurkic is already rostered in most standard leagues, while Green hasn’t done enough to merit being rostered in most leagues.

Carrington has started the last few games with Jordan Poole out with an elbow injury. While the move into the starting lineup certainly raises the 19-year-old point guard’s ceiling, he hasn’t quite reached it yet. Carrington had a solid but unspectacular 12 points and nine assists against the Jazz Wednesday. He can be counted on for assists when given increased opportunity, but his scoring leaves much to be desired.

Ball was hardly efficient with 28 points on 28 shots against the Timberwolves. Still, the 23-year-old point guard was just four assists shy of a double-double. Ball was the Hornets only chance of staying in the game as he was -1 in 36 minutes in the 15-point loss to Minnesota. He turned the ball over six times for the third straight game as Ball’s value continues to be significantly higher in eight-category leagues.

Williams has recorded a double-double in four straight games, laying to rest any injury-related concerns after the Lakers rescinded their trade with the Hornets. The third-year center is ranked just outside the top-50 in eight- and nine-cat formats since the All-Star break, with the lone concern being back-to-backs. Initially probable due to illness, Bridges had one of his best offensive games of the season on Monday night. He matched his season-high with 36 points, and the Hornets forward has shot 50 percent or better from the field in three of his four 30-point outings. Since the All-Star break, Bridges has provided top-20 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Fantasy managers who have him rostered hope Bridges won’t be shut down before (or during) the playoff weeks. The Hornets didn’t shut him down last season; hopefully, that will be the case as this season approaches its conclusion.

Ball did more of the usual on Monday, recording a complete stat line, albeit with subpar efficiency. The turnover count was more problematic than the field-goal percentage, as the Hornets point guard was responsible for six for the second-straight game. Of the 38 games Ball has played this season, he’s had at least four turnovers in 17. Due to the turnover category, there’s nearly a two-round difference in Ball’s value in eight- and nine-cat formats. In addition to boosting his fantasy value, LaMelo cleaning up the turnovers would likely improve the Hornets’ chances of winning games.

George’s shooting struggles remain, but that isn’t something that dynasty managers should worry about. He will figure that out eventually. It’s everything else that he has done this season that makes him an exciting prospect, and this game was no exception. George set a new career-high for assists and was able to maintain his recent uptick in defensive production. George should be considered a high-upside option during “silly season”, and he has shown plenty of flashes in his first year in the league that should make him an enticing rookie to dynasty managers.

Middleton’s production has been limited since being traded to Washington, but he played well on Saturday. Middleton’s role has been limited with Washington, and that isn’t likely to change at any point. However, he proved in this game that he can still contribute standard league value in a limited role. After missing three games with an ankle sprain, Sarr was back in the lineup against Charlotte. After scoring 13 points on 4-of-15 shooting in games against the Magic and Nets, Kispert got back on track Wednesday night. After a rough 2023-24 campaign, Poole has been much-improved, even if the strides taken have not resulted in more wins for the Wizards. He’s provided top-50 value in eight-cat formats, something few (if any) fantasy managers expected. With Wednesday’s effort, Poole has scored 20-plus points in consecutive games for the first time since February 7-8, and he has been a top-40 player over the past three weeks in eight-cat. Even better for fantasy managers is that Poole and the Wizards end Week 17 with a game against the Hornets on Saturday.
