White is due to be re-evaluated early this week after his return timeline was pushed back a few weeks just before the start of the regular season. Tre Jones will remain in the starting lineup for as long as White is unavailable, and Josh Giddey’s role has expanded to begin the regular season. While the latter is already rostered in most leagues, the former is worth considering in some standard leagues.

Buzelis has hit double figures in five of Chicago’s six games, averaging 15.7 points on 49.8 percent shooting from the field. The second-year forward is ranked just outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats, as he’s provided limited production in assists, steals and blocked shots. Improving those categories will be critical for Buzelis as the season progresses, especially once Coby White is cleared to return from injury. The Bulls open their three-game Week 3 on Tuesday against the 76ers.

Vučević recorded his third double-double in four games and fourth of the season on Sunday while shooting 60 percent from the field. As was the case last season, he continues to surprise fantasy managers who may consider the veteran center’s ceiling to be just inside the top-50. Vučević is providing top-20 value in eight- and nine-cat formats and has shown no signs of slowing down. While Coby White’s eventual return will put another capable scorer in the rotation, Vooch’s fantasy value should be fine.

Giddey is up to 19 triple-doubles in his career, and he seems to like Madison Square Garden. “The World’s Most Famous Arena” has been the site of four of Giddey’s 19 triple-doubles. More critical to fantasy managers is that he’s taken advantage of Coby White being out due to injury, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Unfortunately for Giddey managers, the Bulls only play three games during Week 3, starting with the 76ers on Tuesday.

Like Jalen Johnson, Daniels’ fantasy value has improved since the Hawks lost Trae Young to a sprained right MCL. In the two games the Hawks’ point guard has missed, Daniels has totaled 36 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and one blocked shot while shooting 16-of-25 from the field. Of course, no team wants to lose its best player. However, Young’s absence may be the catalyst that Daniels needed after getting off to a slow start this season.

Porziņģis had a relatively quiet night scoring-wise, but he grabbed double-digit rebounds for the first time this season. And with Trae Young (knee) out, KP will likely have to do more as a rebounder and defender to keep his fantasy value up. In the two games Young has missed, Porziņģis has scored 15 points in both, three less than his season average (18.2). He still provides 6th-round value, but the ceiling lowered when the Hawks lost their starting point guard. Atlanta plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Magic on Tuesday.

In the two games the Hawks have played without Trae Young (knee), Johnson has recorded at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in each. Excellent last season before suffering a season-ending injury in late January, he’s picked up where he left off, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Young will be out for at least four weeks, and the timeline for a sprained MCL can be closer to 6-to-8 weeks. Johnson may not be the point guard, but he’ll have the ball in his hands more, raising his already-high fantasy ceiling.

Dosunmu will miss Sunday’s game with a left quad contusion. That’s bad news for the undefeated Bulls, as he torched the Knicks for 22 points and nine assists in Friday’s win in Chicago. Julian Phillips is active for Sunday’s rematch, but he’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to impact fantasy basketball. Patrick Williams isn’t a “safe” streaming choice, but his role should expand with Dosunmu unavailable.

Wallace played 17 minutes off the bench against the Pacers on Friday with Trae Young (knee) sidelined. Young is set to miss at least a month, so Wallace’s role will be secure when he’s available. Young injured his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets, as a teammate fell into the side of his right leg after being pushed by a Nets player. While he did avoid an ACL injury or any significant structural damage, Young did suffer a sprained MCL and will miss at least four weeks. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has replaced him in the starting lineup and should be rostered wherever he’s available. The Hawks still have not provided an update on the severity of the injury or how much time Young will miss, but he won’t be available on Sunday. Josh Giddey wasn’t the only Bull the Knicks struggled to corral on Friday, as Chicago scored a season-high 132 points and shot 53.6 percent from the field. Vučević was one of three Bulls to score at least 22 points in the nine-point victory, which Chicago led by 22 at the half. The 26 points are the most he’s scored in a game since the season opener, when Vooch dropped 28 on Detroit. As surprising as Vučević was in fantasy basketball last season, he’ll go into Chicago’s final game of Week 2 (Sunday at New York) providing top-20 value in nine-cat formats.

While it may be challenging to justify rostering Dosunmu in 10-team leagues once Coby White returns from injury, he’s definitely worth having in 14-team and even some 12-team leagues. Ayo had a stellar performance on Friday, surpassing the 20-point mark for the second time in three games and dishing out a season-high nine assists. However, it’s important to note that Dosunmu entered Friday with seven total assists, so that part of the stat line was likely an outlier. He’s rostered in 21 percent of Yahoo! leagues and would be worth a roll of the dice in deep leagues ahead of Sunday’s rematch with the Knicks in New York.

With Philadelphia losing to the Celtics on Friday, the Bulls are the lone remaining undefeated team in the Eastern Conference. Giddey had a lot to do with Chicago’s move to 5-0. After four solid performances, he was spectacular against the Knicks, who could not find an answer for the guard defensively. Giddey shot 4-of-8 from three and 57.1 percent from the field overall, and he finished one assist shy of a triple-double without committing a turnover. He’s providing top-75 value in nine-cat formats, below his Yahoo! ADP of 28. More nights like Friday will help close that gap.

Daniels has gotten off to a rough start, shooting 31.6 percent from the field in his first five games. Friday’s performance was much-needed, as he shot over 50 percent from the field and provided excellent value in rebounds, assists, and steals. After being limited to 36 games last season, Johnson has played well to begin the 2025-26 campaign. He’s scored 21 points or more in four of his five appearances and recorded his first double-double on Friday. The Hawks are without Trae Young (knee) for the foreseeable future, and Alexander-Walker replaced him in the starting lineup on Friday. NAW played well against the Pacers, shooting over 50 percent from the field and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. With Young unavailable, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson had the ball in their hands more as playmakers, meaning that Alexander-Walker missed out on a potential boost to his assists. However, the performance was good enough to justify rostering him for as long as Young is out.

Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said after Wednesday’s win over the Nets that Young doesn’t have an issue with the ACL in his right knee, but an MRI will determine the severity of his injury.
