    Dyson Daniels

    ATL • G • #5

    Recap

Dyson Daniels finished Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers with 18 points (8-of-12 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, three assists, four steals and one blocked shot.

Like Jalen Johnson, Daniels’ fantasy value has improved since the Hawks lost Trae Young to a sprained right MCL. In the two games the Hawks’ point guard has missed, Daniels has totaled 36 points, 13 rebounds, nine assists, seven steals and one blocked shot while shooting 16-of-25 from the field. Of course, no team wants to lose its best player. However, Young’s absence may be the catalyst that Daniels needed after getting off to a slow start this season.

    Kristaps Porziņģis

    Kristaps Porziņģis

    ATL • Forward-Center • #8

    Recap

Kristaps Porziņģis accumulated 15 points (5-of-11 FGs, 5-of-7 FTs), 12 rebounds, six assists and one blocked shot in Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers.

Porziņģis had a relatively quiet night scoring-wise, but he grabbed double-digit rebounds for the first time this season. And with Trae Young (knee) out, KP will likely have to do more as a rebounder and defender to keep his fantasy value up. In the two games Young has missed, Porziņģis has scored 15 points in both, three less than his season average (18.2). He still provides 6th-round value, but the ceiling lowered when the Hawks lost their starting point guard. Atlanta plays three games during Week 3, starting with the Magic on Tuesday.

    Jalen Johnson

    Jalen Johnson

    ATL • Forward • #1

    Recap

Jalen Johnson accounted for 23 points (10-of-16 FGs, 2-of-5 FTS), 13 rebounds, five assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Sunday’s loss to the Cavaliers.

In the two games the Hawks have played without Trae Young (knee), Johnson has recorded at least 22 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in each. Excellent last season before suffering a season-ending injury in late January, he’s picked up where he left off, providing third-round value in eight-cat formats. Young will be out for at least four weeks, and the timeline for a sprained MCL can be closer to 6-to-8 weeks. Johnson may not be the point guard, but he’ll have the ball in his hands more, raising his already-high fantasy ceiling.

    De'Andre Hunter

    De'Andre Hunter

    CLE • Forward-Guard • #12

    Recap

De’Andre Hunter accounted for 18 points (5-of-14 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Hawks.

Hunter, who has been a starter due to Max Strus’ absence, is averaging 18.2 points per game, which would be a career-best if he were to sustain it. Of even greater value to category-league managers has been his improved production in other key categories, most notably rebounds and assists. Hunter goes into Week 3 providing top-100 value in eight cat formats, exceeding his Yahoo! ADP of 140. Cleveland doesn’t play again until Wednesday, so there’s no need to add Hunter yet. But he’ll be worth a look in a few days, as Cleveland plays three games in the final five days of Week 3.

    Jaylon Tyson

    Jaylon Tyson

    CLE • Guard-Forward • #24

    Recap

Jaylon Tyson shot 6-of-14 from the field and 1-of-1 from the foul line in Sunday’s win over the Hawks, scoring 18 points with three rebounds, two assists and five three-pointers.

While the Cavaliers’ injuries thus far have been aggravating, Tyson’s increased confidence has been a positive. The second-year wing, filling in for Sam Merrill, has scored 18 points or more in three straight games. Rostered in five percent of Yahoo! leagues, Tyson is providing 12th-round value in eight-cat formats. However, Cleveland plays three games during Week 3, and none until Wednesday. If Merrill remains out, Tyson will be worth a look in deep leagues, but there’s no need to move right now.

    Donovan Mitchell

    Donovan Mitchell

    CLE • Guard • #45

    Recap

Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) amassed 37 points (12-of-21 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block and eight three-pointers in Sunday’s win over the Hawks.

Mitchell showed no ill effects from the lingering hamstring issue that kept him out of Friday’s loss to the Raptors. He played 36 minutes on Sunday and was efficient as a scorer, shooting over 57 percent from the field. Also, Mitchell knocked down a season-high eight three-pointers against the Hawks. As long as the hamstring injury doesn’t flare up, Spida will provide excellent fantasy value throughout the season. Lonzo Ball, who started for Mitchell on Friday, played 27 minutes and finished with eight points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal and two three-pointers.

    Larry Nance

    CLE • • #

Donovan Mitchell, Jaylon Tyson, De’Andre Hunter, Larry Nance Jr. and Evan Mobley will start Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

While the Cavaliers get Mitchell back after he missed Friday’s loss to the Raptors, they remain without Sam Merrill and Jarrett Allen. Tyson will continue to replace Merrill in the starting lineup, while Nance will start for Allen after Dean Wade received the nod on Friday. Tyson is the better deep-league streaming option, but Nance can also be justified.

Sam Merrill (hip) is out for Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

Merrill will miss a third straight game after suffering a right hip contusion during Monday’s win over the Pistons. Jaylon Tyson will remain in the starting lineup, and the second-year wing is worth a look in deeper leagues.

Jarrett Allen (finger) is out for Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

Sunday’s game will be the second Allen misses after suffering a non-displaced fracture of his left ring finger during Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics. Dean Wade will remain in the starting lineup, but he is not a must-stream player despite recording three steals and two blocks in Friday’s loss to the Raptors.

    Injury

Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson said that Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) will “give it a go” against the Hawks on Sunday.

While Mitchell played through his hamstring issue in Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics, he was held out of Friday’s loss to the Raptors. While Lonzo Ball will be bumped to the bench, Mitchell may not be asked to take on a starter’s workload due to his injury. Ball played 26 minutes on Friday and may take on a similar workload.

    Injury

Keaton Wallace (illness) is out for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers.

Wallace, who was initially questionable for Sunday’s game, will not be available. That leaves the Hawks light on options at point guard, with starter Trae Young (knee) out for at least four weeks. Luke Kennard should see more time off the bench, with starters Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Dyson Daniels spending even more time on the ball as playmakers.

    Injury

Keaton Wallace (illness) is questionable to play against the Cavaliers on Sunday.

Wallace played 17 minutes off the bench against the Pacers on Friday with Trae Young (knee) sidelined. Young is set to miss at least a month, so Wallace’s role will be secure when he’s available. If he misses this game, Luke Kennard should see an uptick in minutes off the bench, with Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker also seeing a boost in playmaking opportunities.

    Trae Young

    Trae Young

    Injury

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that Trae Young (knee) will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Young injured his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets, as a teammate fell into the side of his right leg after being pushed by a Nets player. While he did avoid an ACL injury or any significant structural damage, Young did suffer a sprained MCL and will miss at least four weeks. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has replaced him in the starting lineup and should be rostered wherever he’s available. Luke Kennard may get more opportunities to contribute off the bench, but he’s only worth targeting where there’s a need for points and three-pointers.

Trae Young (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Cavaliers.

Young will miss a second straight game since injuring his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets. The Hawks still have not provided an update on the severity of the injury or how much time Young will miss, but he won’t be available on Sunday. The game against the Cavaliers is the last of the Hawks’ current road trip, so the team may be waiting until they return to Atlanta to provide an official timeline. Nickeil Alexander-Walker will replace Young in the starting lineup and is worth adding in standard leagues.

    Injury

Sam Merrill (hip) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

Merrill is in jeopardy of missing his third consecutive game with a right hip contusion. The questionable injury status doesn’t give the 29-year-old shooting guard a great chance of being available against the Hawks on Sunday. Jaylon Tyson has started the last two games and posted 18 and 19 points. Tyson is worth a look in deeper formats if Merrill is out again.

    Jarrett Allen

    Injury

Jarrett Allen (finger) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

Allen missed Friday’s game after he suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left right finger earlier in the week. It’s unclear how much more time the 27-year-old center could miss, but he’s listed as questionable putting his status in doubt on Sunday. Dean Wade started Friday against the Raptors in Allen’s stead, but wasn’t much of a factor with five points in 30 minutes.

Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Hawks.

Mitchell missed Friday’s game against the Raptors with a hamstring injury. Now his status for Sunday’s game is up in the air given his questionable injury designation. With Darius Garland out and Jarrett Allen (finger) also questionable, Evan Mobley and De’Andre Hunter could be counted on for increased scoring on Sunday.

    De'Andre Hunter

    De'Andre Hunter

    Recap

De’Andre Hunter had 26 points (8-of-18 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), six rebounds, two assists, one block and four three-pointers against the Raptors on Friday.

Hunter was one of primary beneficiaries of Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland all missing this game. The 27-year-old small forward played 34 minutes, had 26 points and made four three-pointers, all of which are season-highs at this point for Hunter. He should have some opportunities to step up and have big games when his teammates return from injury because he’s still one of the Cavaliers’ starting players.

    Evan Mobley

    Recap

Evan Mobley had 29 points (11-of-17 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), eight rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and two three-pointers against the Raptors on Friday.

Mobley was set up for fantasy success in this one with the Cavaliers down Jarrett Allen, Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland. The 24-year-old center didn’t disappoint with a 29-point effort and filling up the rest of the stat sheet. Mobley probably would’ve had a good game against the Raptors anyway, but he easily hit his ceiling with the Cavaliers shorthanded.

    Dyson Daniels

    ATL • G • #5

    Recap

Dyson Daniels shot 8-of-13 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Friday’s win over the Pacers, scoring 18 points with nine rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Daniels has gotten off to a rough start, shooting 31.6 percent from the field in his first five games. Friday’s performance was much-needed, as he shot over 50 percent from the field and provided excellent value in rebounds, assists, and steals. With Trae Young (knee) out for a yet-to-be determined amount of time, Daniels will spend more time on the basketball. That may be what that gets him going, as evidenced by his play against the Pacers.

    Jalen Johnson

    Jalen Johnson

    ATL • Forward • #1

    Recap

Jalen Johnson finished Friday’s win over the Pacers with 22 points (9-of-16 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 13 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one blocked shot.

After being limited to 36 games last season, Johnson has played well to begin the 2025-26 campaign. He’s scored 21 points or more in four of his five appearances and recorded his first double-double on Friday. Johnson finished two assists shy of a triple-double, which may become a more achievable milestone for him with Trae Young (knee) unavailable. The good news for fantasy managers is that Johnson and the Hawks have one more game during Week 2, Sunday against the Cavaliers.

    Recap

Nickeil Alexander-Walker accounted for 21 points (8-of-14 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one three-pointer in Friday’s win over the Pacers.

The Hawks are without Trae Young (knee) for the foreseeable future, and Alexander-Walker replaced him in the starting lineup on Friday. NAW played well against the Pacers, shooting over 50 percent from the field and finishing a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. With Young unavailable, Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson had the ball in their hands more as playmakers, meaning that Alexander-Walker missed out on a potential boost to his assists. However, the performance was good enough to justify rostering him for as long as Young is out.

Lonzo Ball, Jaylon Tyson, De’Andre Hunter, Dean Wade and Evan Mobley will start Friday’s game against the Raptors.

Already without Darius Garland (toe), the Cavaliers will not have Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) or Jarrett Allen (finger) for Friday’s game. They’ll be replaced in the lineup by Ball, who’s already rostered in 13 percent of Yahoo! leagues, and Wade. Both players are worth considering in deep leagues, with Ball being the priority addition. Also worth a look is Craig Porter Jr., as Ball won’t be asked to take on a starter’s workload.

Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson said Friday that Darius Garland (toe) is close to returning to game action.

Garland, who underwent toe surgery in the offseason, has yet to appear in a game this season. However, he did recently scrimmage with the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate and is “close” to a return. That’s great news for Cleveland, as Donovan Mitchell is dealing with a hamstring injury and will not play in Friday’s game against the Raptors. Garland still does not have an exact return date, but it’s on the horizon based on Atkinson’s pregame comments.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Cavaliers signed Chris Livingston to a two-way contract.

Livingston, the 58th overall pick in the 2023 draft, spent two seasons with the Bucks before being waived late in the preseason. While there’s the potential for him to earn a few minutes if Jarrett Allen (finger) misses time, Livingston is unlikely to be in the rotation. Trae Young (knee) is out for Friday’s game against the Pacers.

Young was due to undergo an MRI on Thursday after spraining his right knee during Wednesday’s win over the Nets, but those results have not been made public. At a minimum, he will miss Friday’s game against the Pacers, likely resulting in Nickeil Alexander-Walker moving into the starting lineup. 5 days ago

Onyeka Okongwu finished Wednesday’s win over the Nets with 12 points (4-of-10 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), 14 rebounds, two assists and one three-pointer.

Despite moving to the bench to make room in the starting lineup for Kristaps Porziņģis (14/6/7/2/1 with two three-pointers), Okongwu’s production has increased. Through five games, he’s averaging 15.2 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.6 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.2 three-pointers, exceeding his 2024-25 averages in points, rebounds and three-pointers. Okongwu has been a top-50 player thus far, which is an excellent development for those who have him rostered.

Luke Kennard accounted for 17 points (5-of-8 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), one rebound, two assists, one steal, one block and four three-pointers in Wednesday’s win over the Nets.

After scoring no more than seven points in any of his first four appearances as a Hawk, Kennard needed a night like Wednesday. His four three-pointers were one more than his total entering Wednesday, and he recorded a complete stat line. Depending on the status of Trae Young, who injured his knee during the second quarter of Wednesday’s victory, Kennard’s role may expand, even if he continues to come off the bench.

Jalen Johnson amassed 23 points (10-of-16 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s win over the Nets.

Johnson has looked sharp since returning from the ankle injury that sidelined him for one game. In matchups with the Bulls and Nets, he tallied 48 points on 21-of-34 shooting. Johnson has also been effective as a rebounder and assist man, and there may be more opportunities to facilitate moving forward due to Trae Young’s knee injury. Johnson had a Yahoo! Trae Young (knee) will undergo an MRI on Thursday.

Hawks head coach Quin Snyder said after Wednesday’s win over the Nets that Young doesn’t have an issue with the ACL in his right knee, but an MRI will determine the severity of his injury. Young was injured during the second quarter when a teammate fell into the outside of his right leg. While he tried to remain in the game, Young eventually headed to the locker room and did not return. Nickeil Alexander-Walker started the third quarter and will likely move into the starting five if Young misses time. In this scenario, he and Luke Kennard are worth a look in deeper leagues.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker shot 7-of-17 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Wednesday’s win over the Nets, scoring 18 points with three rebounds, three assists, two steals, three blocks and two three-pointers.

Alexander-Walker’s role within the Hawks’ rotation took on added importance during Wednesday’s game, as Trae Young (knee) exited during the second quarter and did not return. NAW was impactful on both ends of the floor in Brooklyn, and he’s ranked just outside the top-50 in nine-cat formats through five games. Young will undergo an MRI on Thursday to determine the severity of his injury, and he could be in for an extended absence. Tyson entered Wednesday averaging 5.3 points per game, scoring no more than nine points in his previous four appearances. However, with Sam Merrill (hip) unavailable, the second-year wing had his best night of the season. Tyson was efficient offensively and finished a blocked shot shy of a complete stat line. One game does not make Tyson a player to grab off the waiver wire, but that could change if Merrill misses more time.

Evan Mobley amassed 19 points (7-of-19 FGs, 3-of-5 FTs), 11 rebounds, four assists, one steal, two blocks and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics.

Mobley finished Wednesday’s loss with a complete stat line, but he and sidekick Jarrett Allen (16/6/1/1/1) were outplayed by the Celtics’ tandem of Neemias Queta and Josh Minott. However, while that was disappointing, it doesn’t matter much to fantasy managers. Through five games, Mobley has provided third-round value in nine-cat formats, not too far from his Yahoo! ADP of 19.

De’Andre Hunter finished Wednesday’s loss to the Celtics with 18 points (5-of-16 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), six rebounds, two assists and three three-pointers.

While Hunter finished with a solid point total, the field goal percentage was lacking due to a 3-of-12 night from beyond the arc. He and many other Cavaliers may have been too willing to settle for triples, as they shot 17-of-52 on the night. Boston is also a high-volume three-point shooting team, but they made 21 three-pointers and outscored Cleveland at the foul line (20-18). Hunter has ample opportunities to produce since he’s in the starting lineup, and that’s unlikely to change until Max Strus (ankle) returns to action.

While Young remained in the game, he would exit shortly thereafter and head to the locker room immediately. Donovan Mitchell, Jaylon Tyson, De’Andre Hunter, Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen will start Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

The Cavaliers are down another starter, as Sam Merrill (hip) will not play. Tyson, who started the first two games for the then-injured Hunter, will replace him in the lineup. Tyson hasn’t done enough to merit being streamed, but he’ll have opportunities to change that on Wednesday.

Jalen Johnson (ankle) and Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) are available for Wednesday’s game against the Nets.

Johnson and Risacher were initially probable for Monday’s game, so the status upgrades were expected. They will occupy their usual places in the Hawks’ starting lineup. While Johnson should be rostered in all leagues, Risacher is worth considering in deep leagues but is not a must-roster player.

Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) will play in Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

Mitchell will play in Wednesday’s game after being a late addition to the Cavaliers’ injury report. However, head coach Kenny Atkinson said during his pregame availability that he plans to go deep into his bench, potentially a sign that Mitchell won’t take on his usual workload. He should still be inserted into lineups, but he isn’t guaranteed to reach his average of 33 minutes per game.

Donovan Mitchell (hamstring) is now questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

Mitchell is a late addition to the injury report for Wednesday’s game, which generally does not bode well for a player’s availability. With Sam Merrill (hip) already out, the Cavaliers could start a backcourt of Craig Porter Jr. and Jaylon Tyson. Given Cleveland’s lack of options in this scenario, both would be worth streaming in deep leagues.

Lonzo Ball (knee) is not on the injury report for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

Ball is available after sitting out Monday’s win over the Pistons, Cleveland’s second game in as many days. While he’ll come off the bench, Lonzo should help the Cavaliers account for Sam Merrill’s (hip) absence.

Sam Merrill (hip) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.

Merrill, who’s been on a heater to begin the season, exited Monday’s blowout win over the Pistons with a right hip contusion. The injury will also keep him out of Wednesday’s game against the Celtics, likely meaning Jaylon Tyson will move into the starting lineup. He and Craig Porter Jr. should take on larger roles, especially with the Cavaliers still without Darius Garland and Max Strus.

Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) is probable for Wednesday’s game against the Nets.

Risacher returned to the Hawks’ lineup on Monday after missing two games with a sprained right ankle. Due to his return, Nickeil Alexander-Walker was bumped to the bench, but he still provided superior value to Risacher. Alexander-Walker is the superior fantasy option despite being used in a reserve role.

Jalen Johnson (ankle) is probable for Wednesday’s game against the Nets.

After missing a game with a sprained right ankle, Johnson returned to the Hawks’ lineup on Monday and scored 25 points in a loss to the Bulls. The probable tag suggests he’ll be cleared to play on Wednesday, taking on his usual role within the starting lineup. Given the matchup, fantasy managers will hope Johnson is available to play against the rebuilding Nets.

    Recap

Trae Young recorded a double-double on Monday with 21 points (7-of-22 FGs), three rebounds, 17 assists and one three-pointer in a 128-123 loss to the Bulls.

After recording his first double-double of the season in Atlanta’s last game, Young was finally able to have the type of performance that made fantasy managers want to draft him early. The expected inefficient shooting was there, and he only made one of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc. However, he only turned it over only once. His 17 dimes were the most that he has had in a game while turning it over one or fewer times. They’ll head to Brooklyn on Wednesday, which will be a good opportunity for Young to build on this performance.

    Recap

Jalen Johnson finished with 25 points (11-of-18 FGs), six rebounds, three assists and three steals against the Bulls on Monday.

Johnson missed Atlanta’s previous game with an ankle injury and was questionable entering this one. However, it didn’t seem to be giving him any trouble as he had his highest-scoring performance of the season. Johnson was drafted in the third-round of Yahoo! leagues, and this type of performance is what managers were expecting. Next up on the schedule is a trip to Brooklyn, which should be a favorable matchup for Johnson to stay hot.

    Recap

Kristaps Porzingis led the Hawks with 27 points (11-of-17 FGs), two rebounds, two assists and three three-pointers against the Bulls on Monday.

The Bulls didn’t have any answers for Porzingis in this game. He had his highest-scoring performance as a Hawk, but he wasn’t alone in dominating at the center spot. Onyeka Okongwu finished with 18 points (8-of-11 FGs), 10 rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers as well. Porzingis had missed their last two games with an illness, but he seemed healthy in this one. Though they didn’t get the win, Porzingis has been able to get great looks playing alongside Trae Young, which should lead to more performances like this one.

Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 35 points (13-of-18 FGs), one rebound, two assists, two three-pointers and five turnovers in a 116-95 win over the Pistons on Monday.

Mitchell has gotten off to a scorching hot start to the year, having now scored at least 30 points in three of Cleveland’s four games. He didn’t contribute much value in other categories in this game, which was disappointing, but he didn’t need to. The Cavs were in full control for most of this game. Mitchell will look to stay hot against Boston on Wednesday to try and help Cleveland start the year 4-1.

Evan Mobley posted a full line against the Pistons on Monday with 15 points (5-of-10 FGs), 11 rebounds, five assists, one steal, three blocks and one three-pointer.

Mobley has been filling up the stat sheet this season. He hasn’t been able to shoot the ball efficiently, but he made at least 50 percent of his shot attempts for the first time this season in Monday’s win. He was also able to record his first double-double of the season, and he has hit at least one triple in every game this year. Mobley has taken major strides to start this year, and when his shot starts falling again, he’ll be able to push for first-round production.

Kristaps Porzingis (illness) will play against the Bulls on Monday.

Porzingis will return to the Hawks’ lineup after missing the two previous games due to flu-like symptoms. The veteran center has logged just one game thus far as an Atlanta Hawk, a 20-point, 7-rebound performance in the season-opening loss to the Raptors. He will presumably reclaim his spot in the starting lineup, sending Onyeka Okongwu back to a reserve role.

Johnson is one of three starters considered questionable for Monday’s game against the Hawks, with Zaccharie Risacher (ankle) and Kristaps Porziņģis (illness) being the others. Johnson did not play in Saturday’s loss to the Thunder, with Mouhamed Gueye replacing him in the starting lineup. Returning to the bench would remove most, if not all, of Gueye’s streaming value.
