Spencer stepped up to shoulder the scoring workload in his first career start for a bizarre Golden State lineup that was missing Stephen Curry (quad), Draymond Green (foot), Jimmy Butler (knee) and Al Hortford (sciatica) out of action. The 29-year-old guard dished out seven helpers and knocked down a couple pivotal shots in the fourth quarter to help the Warriors stave off a late rally from the Cavaliers. He’ll continue to get opportunities with Curry expected to miss at least another week while recovering from a quad bruise.

The Cavaliers got off to an ice-cold start on the second night of a back-to-back, scoring a season-low 36 points in the first half. Mitchell came alive after the break, burying seven three-pointers and dropping 21 points in the second half as Cleveland roared back to make this one close. He had an opportunity to knock down a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds but came up empty. The 29-year-old scoring machine is averaging 30.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.3 blocks over 23 games this season. The Cavaliers are off until Friday when they face the floundering Wizards before closing out a two-game week with a home matchup against the Hornets.

Post drew the starting assignment for a makeshift lineup with most of Golden State’s core sitting this one out. The 25-year-old sharpshooting big man knocked down a pair of three-pointers and pulled down a team-high nine boards. He’s capable of making an impact for fantasy purposes when given an opportunity but those spots are tough to come by unless injuries strike.

The Warriors have been decimated by injuries, resulting in multiple changes to the starting lineup. Spencer, Kuminga and Post will be in the starting lineup, with Brandin Podziemski moving to the bench while Draymond Green and Al Horford are out. Spencer, who’s totaled 33 points in his last two games, is worth streaming while Kuminga and Post will also have added fantasy value.

Green aggravated a right midfoot sprain during Thursday’s loss to the 76ers, with the Warriors ruling him out at halftime. Initially questionable for Saturday’s game, Butler is officially out. Nae’Qwan Tomlin started this game with Darius Garland (toe) sidelined, and while he was able to contribute 13 points in 18 minutes, he wasn’t as effective as Wade. Though he typically hasn’t been a productive player in fantasy basketball, he was able to start the second half and turn in a strong stat line during his 29 minutes on the floor. Tyson has been incredible as a starter during his second season in the NBA. He has been able to start more than expected due to various injuries, and he has taken advantage of the opportunity. More than a year after he suffered a torn ACL, Melton was back on the court Thursday night. And he didn’t need much time to remind people why he can be a valuable option in fantasy basketball. Despite being limited to 21 minutes, Melton recorded a complete stat line with solid percentages against the 76ers. With Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler out, and Draymond Green attempting to play through a foot injury, the Warriors can use the help that Melton can provide on both ends of the floor. After matching his career-high in Tuesday’s loss to the Thunder, Spencer had another good night on Thursday. Unfortunately for the Warriors, they would not score again, with Philadelphia ending the game on a 5-0 run. Thursday’s game was the first for Horford since November 21, so, understandably, he was a bit rusty. The veteran center, who received the starting nod, shot 1-of-7 from beyond the arc in Philadelphia, missing seven straight after making his first attempt. With Draymond Green (foot) exiting at halftime and Jimmy Butler (knee) already out, the Warriors can use a healthy Horford.
