Embiid did not play in Tuesday’s win over the Celtics due to a sore right knee. It’s important to note that it was the left knee that gave him trouble in the past, with the former MVP undergoing another procedure during the offseason. Philadelphia doesn’t play again until Friday in Detroit, but that may not be enough time for Embiid to return to full strength. Andre Drummond has been the replacement in the starting lineup with Adem Bona serving as his backup.

George is making progress in his recovery from offseason knee surgery, but he remains without a concrete return timeline. He’ll be re-evaluated later this week, with Charania reporting that team doctors want George to further strengthen his left quad muscle to help support his left knee. So, nothing has really changed for those who have him rostered. Continue to stash him in an IL+ slot and hold out hope that a return isn’t too far away. Trendon Watford struggled in Tuesday’s win over the Celtics but should remain the starting power forward for now.

Edwards played a pivotal role for Philadelphia down the home stretch in this one, knocking down 5-of-6 three-point attempts, including a pair down the home stretch to help erase an eight-point deficit over the final six minutes. His only miss of the night set up teammate Kelly Oubre Jr.’s go-ahead layup with just 8.7 second left in the contest. The 21-year-old saw a season-high 26 minutes in this one with franchise cornerstone Joel Embiid out with right knee soreness and Jared McCain limited to just six minutes while dealing with thumb and knee issues. The 76ers are back in action on Friday evening with a road tilt against the Pistons and a red-hot Cade Cunningham.

Maxey continues to be one of the most impactful scorers in the fantasy landscape, eclipsing the 20-point mark in 11consecutive contests to open the season. The 25-year-old rising star didn’t exactly light it up in this one, but he came alive in the second half to help spark a late comeback effort. He dished out nine assists to finish just shy of his third double-double performance of the year.

Drummond exploited Boston’s lack of frontcourt size to close out the first half with back-to-back buckets in the paint to finish with 10 points as Philadelphia raced out to a 51-41 lead. The 14-year-veteran drew the starting assignment with Joel Embiid out with right knee soreness. He and fellow big man Adem Bona figure to see an uptick in minutes while Embiid is sidelined to undergo further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the issue.

Tyson has entered the league’s concussion protocol after suffering a head injury during Monday’s loss to the Heat. The Cavaliers will be down multiple rotation players on Wednesday, including Mitchell and Mobley. Garland injured his left toe during Monday’s loss to the Heat, exiting for good during the third quarter. Nine of Mobley’s 11 rebounds were of the offensive variety, and he also dished out five assists. Monday’s overtime defeat was the Cavaliers forward’s first this season with at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Mobley, who had a Yahoo! ADP of 19, has not performed to that level, but he is a top-50 player in eight- and nine-cat formats. Jarrett Allen (14/7/2/0/1) only played 21 minutes on Monday, and he’s taken a back seat to Mobley in the frontcourt. Mobley is more than capable of meeting the preseason expectations; fantasy managers need to stay patient.

One game removed from tallying a season-high 29 points, Hunter dropped in 23 more in Monday’s overtime defeat. Rostered in 31 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he’s ranked just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Hunter hasn’t been the best option in standard category leagues, but the current circumstances in Cleveland make him worth a look. He’ll likely be a starter until Max Strus returns from offseason surgery, and the Cavaliers may be without Darius Garland after he injured his toe during Monday’s game.

Mitchell struggled with his three-point shot on Monday, shooting 3-of-16. However, his third triple was an improbable shot with four-tenths of a second remaining in overtime that appeared destined to force a second extra session. Andrew Wiggins had other ideas, taking advantage of a botched switch to dunk home the winner as time expired. Of greater importance to Mitchell and the Cavaliers is that Darius Garland left Monday’s game in the third quarter after injuring the left big toe, which was operated on during the spring. If he has to miss time, Mitchell will return to the point, with Sam Merrill (12/2/2 with four three-pointers) rejoining the starting lineup. Cleveland plays Miami again on Wednesday.

Garland appeared to injure his left big toe late in the second quarter of Monday’s game. He did return to begin the third quarter but would eventually give a foul and then head back to the locker room. The concern is that this is the same toe he injured in March, ultimately requiring surgery at the end of Cleveland’s playoff run. If he misses time, the Cavaliers will likely turn to Donovan Mitchell to run the point, with Sam Merrill re-entering the starting lineup.

Grimes has reached double figures in all ten games he’s played this season, providing the 76ers with consistent offense off the bench. However, he’s also been effective in the rebound and assist categories, which is why he’s ranked safely within the top-100 going into Week 4. There’s the question of what will happen once Paul George is healthy enough to play and Jared McCain (zero points and one assist in nine minutes) isn’t under a minutes restriction. However, Grimes should not take too big a hit once the 76ers’ rotation is at full strength, given his productivity.

With Joel Embiid unavailable for injury management reasons, Drummond was tabbed to fill the void in the starting lineup on Sunday. And the veteran center came through with a performance on par with what many fantasy managers expected of Drummond when he first joined the 76ers. He recorded a complete stat line on Sunday, including his first game this season with multiple three-pointers. Adem Bona, who was Embiid’s replacement in past games, played 12 minutes off the bench, finishing with two points, four rebounds, one steal and three blocks. Unfortunately, neither will be of much value during Week 4, as the 76ers play just two games.

Maxey had a chance to tie Sunday’s game and force overtime, but his three-point attempt at the end of a hectic possession hit the front iron just before time expired. However, fantasy managers will be more focused on Maxey’s production, as the 76ers guard has scored 30 or more points in six games this season. While we’re used to seeing the likes of Nikola Jokić and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander atop the fantasy rankings, Maxey finds himself in similar company going into Week 4. Mobley was one of the key reasons why Cleveland pulled out their fourth straight win as he fell just shy of a double-double for the second consecutive contest. The 24-year-old interior presence is averaging 20 points, nine rebounds and a career-best four assists per-game through 10 contests at the outset of the season. Embiid’s first game of the season was rough, but since then, he has scored at least 20 points in every game he has played in, despite the minutes restriction. It’s great to see him progressing, but he still isn’t ready to play back-to-backs; expect him to be listed as out against the Pistons on Sunday, which will allow Adem Bona to start and Andre Drummond to play extra minutes off the bench.

Watford had been playing well off the bench recently, so 76ers coach Nick Nurse gave him the starting nod over Jabari Walker. Friday night worked out perfectly for Garland and the Cavaliers. He was productive, and while there was a need to run up points for NBA Cup point differential reasons, Cleveland did not need to extend their starting point guard too far. The question now is whether Garland will be available for Saturday’s game against the Bulls. Before Friday’s victory, Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson did not rule out the possibility of Garland playing both games.
