Sacramento’s centers dominated on Sunday, with Valanciunas providing his first 20-point double-double since joining the team. Playing behind Domantas Sabonis limits JV’s fantasy ceiling considerably, but he’s shown the ability to remain valuable on multiple occasions. Next up for Sacramento is a play-in tournament game on Wednesday against the Mavericks, and they’ll have home-court advantage.

Sabonis may not be entering a three-point contest anytime soon, but he was elite against the Suns. The Kings center made all four attempts from beyond the arc on Sunday, adding bonus value to a solid overall stat line. Sacramento’s victory secured the ninth seed in the West, so they will host Dallas in a play-in tournament game on Wednesday. The Kings need to win two to reach the playoffs, and they’ll need an elite Sabonis to get the job done.

Tyson was a first-round pick last summer, but he wasn’t able to carve out a role on a talented Cavs team. That isn’t an indictment of his talent since Cleveland finished with the best record in the East. He took advantage of the opportunity to play a significant role in this game and had the best game of his young career. Tyson won’t be a factor for them during the postseason, but he has a bright future in the league.

Thompson has been an elite rebounder for his entire career, but it has been a few years since he played enough to be relevant in fantasy basketball. However, he got the chance in this game and took advantage. His 20 rebounds were the most he has had in a game since 2020 when he grabbed a career-best 22 boards. It was fun to see Thompson play this well, but he won’t see more than a few minutes during the postseason.

Per usual, Sabonis was able to contribute a double-double in this game. He was able to record one before halftime as he entered the break with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Sabonis has played well recently, and after missing nine games in March (and exiting early from two others), it has been nice for him to be back out on the floor. Sacramento will wrap up the regular season against the Suns on Sunday. They have the same record as Dallas, who they will face in the Play-In Tournament. Who hosts the game will depend on how Sunday’s game goes, so managers should expect Sabonis to play a large role.

It was a rough first half for LaVine, but he was able to figure things out after the break. He scored 18 of his 26 points in the second half and 13 points in the final six minutes of the game. The ball didn’t go to him when the Kings had a chance to win it with two seconds left, which resulted in a loss that confirms they will finish the year with a losing record. They also now have the same record as the Mavericks and will need to beat the Suns on Sunday in order to host their Play-In matchup with Dallas next week.

Despite having secured the East’s top seed for the playoffs, the Cavaliers went all-out with their four available starters on Friday. Mobley, who did not play in Thursday’s loss to the Pacers, logged 35 minutes and recorded his 36th double-double in the comeback win over New York. He finished the 2023-24 campaign with 22 double-doubles and has benefitted from the Cavaliers making him more of an offensive focal point. Strus was one of three Cavaliers starters who returned to the lineup after sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Pacers. He shot 5-of-12 from three on the night, including three makes during the fourth quarter. Strus’s fantasy value is limited to that of a specialist since he shares the court with four standouts ahead of him in the offensive pecking order. However, he can be helpful to fantasy managers needing three-pointers, rebounds and the occasional defensive stats. As he did in Cleveland’s win at Madison Square Garden on October 28, Garland took over during the fourth quarter on Friday. Garland’s charge helped Cleveland complete their rally from a 23-point deficit to win a game that had no impact on their seeding for the upcoming playoffs. With Sunday’s opponent, Indiana, also locked into its seed, fantasy managers should not expect to see Garland playing 30-plus minutes in the regular-season finale.

While he did return later in the quarter, there’s no reason for the Cavaliers not to give their star guard a night off. Mitchell tweaked his left ankle during the third quarter of Sunday’s game but returned after a quick trip to the locker room. While he had a rough night at the foul line, Mobley’s overall stat line is one from which many category league managers will benefit, especially those who entered Sunday needing defensive production. The six “stocks” were the most Mobley has recorded in a game since November 27, when he tallied four steals and three blocks in a win over the Hawks. Over the past two weeks, Mobley has been a top-25 player in eight- and nine-cat formats, providing increased value at the right time for managers whose leagues ended on Sunday. Sunday’s game was the first for Jerome since March 25, as a knee injury sidelined him for five games. The Cavaliers’ reserve guard showed no signs of rust against the Kings and has scored 20 points or more in 12 games this season. That’s double Jerome’s total in the first five seasons of his NBA career. DeRozan has scored 21 points or more in six straight games, providing consistent offensive value to fantasy managers. However, the defensive production has limited his value, with Deebo being a sixth-round player in nine-cat formats over the past two weeks. For DeRozan managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Kings play four games, starting with Monday’s road trip finale in Detroit. LaVine’s entire stat line did not provide much value to category league managers, but his points, three-pointers and field goal percentage were outstanding. The 37 points are the most he’s scored in a game since February 24, and the opponent on that night (Charlotte) was far less formidable than the Cavaliers. Sacramento’s “big three” of Sabonis, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan combined to score 92 points on Sunday. And with Phoenix’s loss to the Knicks, the Kings moved closer to locking down a play-in spot. LaVine’s fantasy value has tailed off considerably over the past two weeks, as he’s ranked outside the top 200 in nine-cat formats. The combination of limited defensive production and 3.1 turnovers per game have done him no favors during this stretch. LaVine had a rough second half on Wednesday, shooting 1-of-7 from the field, and the Kings lost a game they could ill afford to lose in their quest to earn a play-in spot. While shooting 44.6 percent from the field over the past two weeks isn’t terrible, LaVine doesn’t have as much margin for error, fantasy-wise, due to his limited defensive production. During this stretch, he’s ranked outside the top 250 in nine-cat formats and the top 150 in eight-cat. As is usually the case, Sabonis again provided reliable value in points, rebounds and assists on Wednesday. Unfortunately, a combination of limited defensive production and poor foul shooting have made him a sixth-round player in eight-cat formats over the past two weeks. Sabonis has been a top-20 player in eight-cat formats for the season, which aligns with his Yahoo! ADP of 15. Usually fourth or fifth in the Kings’ offensive pecking order on most nights, Murray’s had to provide value in other areas. He finished Wednesday’s defeat with two steals and one blocked shot and has averaged 0.8 steals and 1.6 blocks over the past two weeks. That production is one of the reasons why he has offered top-25 value in nine-cat formats during this stretch.
