While he has not been a fantasy asset during his first two NBA seasons, Whitehead has recently been given more opportunities to show what he can do. After scoring 17 points in an April 3 loss to the Timberwolves, the second-year guard has reached double figures in two straight games for the first time. There’s no need to add Whitehead now, but he’ll have value if the Nets decide to shut down Cameron Johnson. At this point, it would be somewhat surprising if they didn’t hold out the veteran wing for the season’s final week.

Timme started Sunday’s game for Nic Claxton, who was held out for rest reasons. The undrafted center out of Gonzaga has had his moments since joining the Nets, playing well enough to merit being streamed on nights when he’s allowed to start. Beekman started Sunday’s game for D’Angelo Russell, who was held out with a sore right ankle. Thompson shot 4-of-8 from three and did not provide much else of value to fantasy managers on Saturday. Over the past two weeks, the veteran sharpshooter is ranked outside the top 200 in eight- and nine-cat formats. Thompson has primarily been a points and three-pointers player this season, and his field goal percentage of 41.3 percent is the lowest of his career. Thompson managers whose leagues are active during Week 23 will have three games to work with, starting with Wednesday’s matchup against the Lakers.

Saturday’s game was Lively’s second since returning from a stress fracture in his ankle. As expected, there’s still some rust, and the Mavericks are taking a conservative approach to his workload. Lively only played 15 minutes, offering limited value during his time on the court. With Daniel Gafford (knee) sitting out, Kai Jones assumed the backup center responsibilities and had an excellent night. Shooting 9-of-9 from the field, he finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, one steal and three blocks. However, as good as this line was, fantasy managers whose leagues will be active next week don’t need to pick up Jones. Dallas plays on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, which should ensure that Lively and Gafford are available.

After sitting out Friday’s loss to the Clippers, Davis was back in the lineup for Saturday’s rematch. While the points and rebounds were solid, his efficiency left something to be desired. Not only did Davis shoot below 50 percent from the field, but he was also responsible for six turnovers. Over the past two weeks, he has been a ninth-round player in eight-cat formats, ranking just outside the top-100 according to Basketball Monster. For Davis managers whose leagues run through Week 23, the Mavericks play three games, all on the busiest days of the week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).

Hardy was productive in 29 minutes, but his Friday night came to a painful end during the fourth quarter. He stepped on a Clippers’ player’s foot and sprained his right ankle. Requiring assistance to get back to the locker room, Hardy could not put any weight on his right leg. At a minimum, fantasy managers should assume he will not be available for Saturday’s rematch with the Clippers. Dinwiddie has reached double figures in four straight and 12 of his last 13 games. Since moving into the starting lineup on March 19, the Mavericks’ guard has provided fifth-round value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Dinwiddie hasn’t been the most reliable fantasy option for most of his career. Still, the current injury situation in Dallas makes him a must-roster player for Saturday’s game against the Clippers. Wednesday’s game was the first for Lively since January 14, as he had been sidelined with a stress fracture in his right ankle. While he was immediately inserted into the starting lineup, the second-year center was limited to 16 minutes. With the Mavericks ending Week 22 with a Friday/Saturday back-to-back against the Clippers, fantasy managers should anticipate Lively sitting out one of those games. Marshall has made quite a few starts this year with all the injuries the Mavericks have dealt with. He got another start Wednesday with PJ Washington (illness) out. While the Mavericks’ trade for Davis was widely panned and mocked, the 32-year-old power forward turned in a vintage performance Wednesday against the Hawks. He was a machine down low with 34 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks. He did all that damage in just 30 minutes as he’s coming off an adductor injury. Davis was his dominant self for the first time since returning from the injury. Ideally, we’d see this version of Davis more regularly over the Mavs’ final few games of the regular season, though they do have a back-to-back coming up, so AD will likely get one night off.
