Two players that have already been moved at this deadline will be swung once again. Jones will provide a veteran ball handler for a young team that has lacked a consistent option at point guard this season. Having Jones in the rotation will help Cooper Flagg’s development without resulting in extra wins. Jones could be a solid source of assists if he is able to playing at least 20 minutes per game, though he will likely come off the bench.

Dosunmu spent the first 4.5 seasons of his career in his hometown of Chicago after playing three seasons at Illinois, so this will be quite the fresh start for him. Minnesota has lacked a reliable point guard this season, and they just traded Mike Conley this week. Dosunmu may not start, but he should be one of the primary options off the bench and spend a ton of time on the floor as a lead ball handler. With Dillingham included in the deal, Bones Hyland and Jaylen Clark will be the other point guards in Minnesota.

It’s no secret that Randle is dealing with a sore left thumb on his shooting hand. Now he’s shot below 40 percent from the field in three of his last four games. Hyland was instrumental in Wednesday’s win over the Raptors. The 25-year-old point guard was instant offense with 20 points on 12 field goal attempts and four three-pointers off the bench. Only Anthony Edwards had more points for the Timberwolves in the 128-126 victory. Hyland’s scoring isn’t consistent enough for him to have much fantasy value when Edwards is available.

With the Timberwolves leading by two points with just over one minute remaining at the end of regulation, Edwards drove the lane on Raptors forward Brandon Ingram before hitting a turnaround jumper that gave his team a two-possession lead. The 24-year-old shooting guard was excellent in the fourth quarter as the Timberwolves came back from down 10 points to win. Edwards has provided third-round per game value over the last two weeks. He’ll have another chance for a big game Friday against the Pelicans.

Bagley has been a solid backup center for Washington this season, which includes some productive outings as a starter. With Dallas, he could be productive down the stretch of this season. He isn’t a long-term solution at center, but he will be part of the rotation along with Daniel Gafford, Moussa Cisse and Dwight Powell. Gafford’s double-double was his fourth of the season, but the playing time may be the most notable aspect of his night in Houston. The 28 minutes were the most in a game for the Mavericks’ center since November 24, exceeded only by Gafford playing 31 minutes in a November 16 win over the Trail Blazers. How Dallas decides to approach the rest of the season will be worth watching, as Saturday’s defeat dropped them five games behind the 10th-place Clippers in the loss column. If they try to compete for a play-in spot, Gafford should be fine minutes-wise. If not, expect to see more of Moussa Cissé (three points, one rebound, one assist and one block in 13 minutes).

For the first time since early November, McDaniels has recorded back-to-back 20-point games.
