Gordon dropped 50 points in the Nuggets’ season-opening overtime loss to the Warriors. The 30-year-old power forward failed to record even 20 points in the next four games, but has now bounced back with at least 20 points in the last two games. Gordon’s shooting seems to be improved this season and the Nuggets are in no position to curb his usage on offense this year.

Jokić is back with a triple-double after two games where he failed to record a triple-double. Those two games of course came after the 30-year-old center began the season with a streak of four consecutive games with a triple-double. Jokić is the top player in fantasy until someone takes the crown from him, though Victor Wembanyama and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are worthy adversaries.

Murphy had scored at least 17 points in three consecutive games entering play Wednesday, but had just 11 points in a clunker of a performance against the Mavericks. It was the third time in eight games this year that the 25-year-old small forward has shot 27.3 percent or less from the field. Murphy has a couple days to find his jump shot before the Pelicans take on the Spurs on Saturday.

Rookie Jeremiah Fears should also see a boost in minutes and usage Wednesday.

If Poole sits out the second leg of the back-to-back, there are multiple options to replace him, including Jordan Hawkins, Saddiq Bey and Jose Alvarado, depending on how big Pelicans coach Willie Green wants his starting lineup to be. This will be a second straight absence for Missi. Kevon Looney played 15 minutes as a starter on Tuesday, while Derik Queen played 18 minutes off the bench and Karlo Matkovic played 15 minutes. Murphy helped New Orleans snap an abysmal six-game losing streak to open the season by draining five of his 10 three-point attempts on a night when the Pelicans knocked down 17 of 38 (45 percent) from beyond the arc. Alvarado knocked down four treys, including a go-ahead bucket with 15.4 seconds left in the contest, to give New Orleans a much-needed spark off the bench. The Pelicans also got significant contributions from Saddiq Bey, who added 17 points of his own, and high-flying Karlo Matković, who supplied a couple highlight-reel dunks as part of his 13 points. The 27-year-old role player has taken a backseat with rookie Jeremiah Fears getting an opportunity in the starting lineup at the outset of the season, but he cracked the 30-minute mark for the first time this season in this one.

Williamson’s sore left hamstring has been diagnosed as a Grade 1 strain, and the Pelicans will re-evaluate him in 7-10 days. Given the timeline, he’ll miss at least five games, starting with Tuesday’s matchup with Charlotte. For the most recent game that Williamson missed, an October 27 loss to the Celtics, Jordan Poole served as the fifth starter. Taking on that role would raise his fantasy ceiling, and Jeremiah Fears should have even more opportunities to facilitate offense.

Murray was 0-of-5 from three on Monday, but fantasy managers still received solid production in the rebound and assist categories. The Nuggets point guard has scored at least 22 points in four of six games, sitting safely within the top-50 in eight- and nine-cat formats. More concerning than the subpar three-point shooting on Monday is Murray’s left calf, which has been an issue for a few games. He’s played through the issue thus far, but the Nuggets end Week 3 with a Friday/Saturday back-to-back.

Gordon hasn’t approached the heights he reached in Denver’s opener, scoring 50 points in a loss to the Warriors. In fact, Monday’s effort was his first 20-point game since then. However, Gordon is still shooting the ball with excellent accuracy and averaging 2.5 three-pointers per game. The veteran forward is providing top-50 value in nine-cat formats, something few fantasy managers expected before the season began. Maintaining that production level may prove difficult, but Gordon’s improved shooting has done wonders for his fantasy profile.

Braun had his most productive outing of the season on Monday, with the 21 points being the most he’s scored in a game. However, the three-point line remains an issue for the fourth-year wing. Having entered Monday shooting 18.2 percent from deep, Braun was 1-of-3 against the Kings. Decreased production in the three-point and steals categories is why Braun is ranked well outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats. The role makes him a player who should be rostered in most leagues, and managers need to consider buying low on Braun.

Jokić finished Monday’s victory three rebounds shy of a triple-double, but he still gave fantasy managers a robust stat line. The 34 points were a season-high, while the 14 assists were one shy of his high. Fears had an up-and-down game on Sunday. He shot the ball well, especially from beyond the arc, and scored in double figures for the third straight game and fifth time in his rookie season. Yet, he committed a career-high five turnovers and struggled with ball security against a tough OKC defense. Even with the rookie growing pains, Fears has had an impressive start to his career and consistently functioned as one of New Orleans’ most reliable players on a nightly basis. He’ll likely continue starting for the Pelicans and should only improve with more experience.

Murphy’s stats didn’t jump off the page on Sunday, but it’s worth noting that he was able to tally back-to-back games of at least 17 points and five three-pointers. While the overall offensive production likely hasn’t met expectations from a fantasy basketball standpoint, it appears that Murphy has found his touch from beyond the arc after some early-season struggles. Williamson had a balanced performance on the offensive end despite a blowout loss limiting him to just 28 minutes of action. Williamson did not record any defensive stats on Friday, but the rebounding and offensive production were good. The two issues for fantasy managers have been free-throw percentage and turnovers, but Zion made 11 of his 13 free throws against the Clippers. For managers not too concerned about free-throw percentage, turnovers or three-pointers, Zion is providing top-25 value when punting those categories.

Coming off the bench for the second straight game, Poole was far better on Friday than in Wednesday’s blowout loss to the Nuggets. The 30 points were a season-high for the Pelicans guard, who still provides top-100 value in eight- and nine-cat formats. Jeremiah Fears (13/4/8/4 with two three-pointers) didn’t shoot the ball well as the starting point guard, but he did not commit a turnover in his 29 minutes. With Fears being a lottery pick, it makes sense for the Pelicans to prioritize his development. Murphy recorded solid points, rebounds, assists and steals numbers on Friday, a step in the right direction after he totaled 14 points on 4-of-19 shooting in the two games prior. More important may be that Murphy shot 5-of-10 from three after going 5-of-23 in his first four games.
