After attempting five shots and scoring nine points in Friday’s blowout loss to the Thunder, LaVine was far more involved offensively on Sunday. He’s scored at least 23 points in seven of his nine appearances, with the increased scoring propelling LaVine into the top-50 in eight- and nine-cat formats. After averaging 22.4 points in 32 appearances for the Kings last season, he’s averaged 25.2 points in 2025-26. Given the limited production outside of points and three-pointers, LaVine doesn’t have much margin for error, but scoring has rarely been an issue for him. The Kings play four games during Week 4, starting with Denver on Tuesday.

Traditionally a player whom fantasy managers could count on to approach top-50 value, DeRozan has not played to that standard thus far. While his scoring and three-point production were solid on Sunday, his point and assist averages have decreased compared to the 2024-25 numbers. With Zach LaVine in the fold for a full season and the Kings adding Dennis Schröder and Russell Westbrook as free agents, there are more options for DeRozan to contend with. And that doesn’t factor in the eventual return of Keegan Murray from a preseason thumb injury. DeRozan will still be a valuable option in standard leagues, but getting back to top-50 status will be challenging.

Sabonis was back on the floor after missing two games with a rib contusion. While there were times when his discomfort was visible, the Kings center played 30 minutes and recorded his seventh double-double in as many appearances. Sabonis struggled from the field on Sunday, as the Timberwolves were able to force him to play in a crowd consistently, but frequent trips to the foul line boosted the final point tally. Also, Sabonis attempted a season-high 17 shots, the second time he’s had at least 15 attempts. That level of activity may be required for Sabonis to meet his lofty Yahoo! ADP of 18. And it could be tough to pull off due to the other scorers in the Kings’ rotation.

Schröder appeared to sprain his left ankle during the second quarter when he stepped on the foot of Minnesota’s Donte DiVincenzo while attempting a layup, with his ankle “rolling” inward instead of out. While Schröder remained in the game, he was a shell of himself from that point onward. And with the Kings beginning Week 4 with a Tuesday/Wednesday back-to-back, this may impact Schröder’s availability. Russell Westbrook would be the next man up, and he finished Sunday’s defeat with six points (2-of-7 FGs), one assist, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in 16 minutes off the bench.

Sabonis is back after missing two games with a rib contusion, pushing Drew Eubanks to the bench. The other change to the starting lineup is surprising, with Achiuwa replacing Russell Westbrook. The matchup may have something to do with that, as the Kings have to deal with Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert in the frontcourt. Westbrook will play enough to provide solid fantasy value, but this change gives Achiuwa a shot at achieving fantasy relevance.

Jokić picked up the slack for a short-handed Denver lineup with Jalen Pickett and Peyton Watson starting in place of an injured Jamal Murray (calf) and Aaron Gordon (hamstring), recording his third double-double in nine games this season — securing it with more than seven minutes left in the third quarter — as the Nuggets cruised to an easy win, leading by 13 heading into the final frame. The 30-year-old generational talent been the top overall fantasy performer so far, averaging 25 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists, two steals, and one block through nine games. At this point, Jokić averaging a triple-double isn’t news — it’s just gravity doing what gravity does.

DeRozan was limited to 29 minutes on Friday in the blowout loss to OKC. In his minutes, he shot efficiently and logged more three-point makes against the Thunder than he had combined prior to Friday’s contest. Still, the veteran scorer finished with fewer than 20 points and had minimal impact as a facilitator or defender. Aside from his contributions from beyond the arc, there wasn’t much for fantasy managers to get excited about.

LaVine returned from a one-game absence on Friday but struggled to make much of a positive impact. In the blowout loss, he totaled 29 minutes and attempted just five shots. He was efficient on his limited looks, but scored in single digits for the first time all season. Westbrook logged his third-straight 20-point game of the season on Friday, which was again highlighted by strong overall shooting efficiency and high production from beyond the arc. The veteran guard also found success on the glass, produced as a passer, and got his teammates involved against his former team. Even in Year 18, Westbrook has proven capable of stuffing the stat sheet and providing value in fantasy leagues, especially now as he’s demonstrating an ability to be an efficient scorer. He’s certainly worthy of a roster spot.

Jokić needed only 29 minutes of game action to nearly tally a second straight double-double. He fell one rebound and one assist short of the feat, but utilized extremely efficient shooting to land his sixth straight game with at least 20 points. The Warriors, without Stephen Curry and Al Horford available for this game, struggled to keep pace with the high-powered Nuggets’ offense, which featured six different players scoring in double figures, with Jokić leading the way. He made an impact offensively as both a facilitator and scorer, with his production from beyond the arc being key to his point total. Sabonis has led the NBA in rebounds three consecutive seasons, and a fourth rebounding straight title is a realistic possibility. He grabbed 17 boards against the Nuggets, and the five assists were also valuable for fantasy managers. That will need to be the case moving forward, as Sabonis’ scoring production may slip due to the number of scorers on the perimeter. Playing in Denver for the first time since opting out of the final year of his two-year deal to hit free agency, Westbrook provided the complete “Russell Westbrook Experience” on Monday. Moving into the starting lineup, he was highly productive against the Nuggets, recording a double-double with six assists. However, he was also responsible for six turnovers, including two within 30 seconds late in the fourth quarter, effectively eliminating Sacramento’s rallying chances. Murray was 0-of-5 from three on Monday, but fantasy managers still received solid production in the rebound and assist categories. The Nuggets point guard has scored at least 22 points in four of six games, sitting safely within the top-50 in eight- and nine-cat formats. More concerning than the subpar three-point shooting on Monday is Murray’s left calf, which has been an issue for a few games. Decreased production in the three-point and steals categories is why Braun is ranked well outside the top-100 in nine-cat formats.
